Chapter # 36

The week flew away too quickly and Nupur who was counting the days on the calendar was feeling mingled emotions gathering in her heart. She was aware of how much passing the test meant. Not only did she had to do this for her father who meant the world to her, but also for Mayank. She knew after the hard work he had put in to teach her, he was expecting the best from her and she had to do just that.

However amidst all this determination to pass the test, somewhere at the back corner of her mind something else was nudging her.
"ok so u are wondering what after u are done with SAT? as in your and Mayank's relationship?"
"no Gunjan! Not that.." Nupur sighed and quietly leaned her head on Gunjan's shoulder, " its like.. I won't be able to meet him daily.. you know, the anticipation of meeting him every single day."
"but that's not a problem princess.. you both will still be able to meet right?" Gunjan replied stroking her head.
"yup but it won't be the same.."
Gunjan shifted and made Nupur face her, " it will be better princess.. because after this exam , you and Mayank won't have to be confined the role of teacher and student. You both can just be boyfriend and girlfriend.. and if I know u , u already know the benefits'"
Gunjan was grinning and inspite of the glare that Nupur passed her, it was obvious from the way her cheeks were all pink, that she exactly knew what those benefits were'

"yet again u completed the sums correctly.." Mayank looked up and smiled at Nupur only to find her biting her lip, a sign that she was extremely nervous.
Mayank left the test and pulled her in his arms. Her head resting on his chest and her arms around her, seeking reassurance. "kya hua princess? What's making you so nervous?"
She closed her eyes and accepted her biggest fear, " I am afraid I will let you and dad down.."
He kissed her head asked tenderly, " but u know u can achieve it, then why this nervousness?"
She didn't replied just hugged him quietly and so he carried, " you know can do it but this nervousness won't help. U know what I liked the most about u since start?"
His question did it and she looked up hopefully. Softly caressing her cheek, he smiled and said, " the confidence that u can do it all.. Without anyone.. Specially without me.."
He grinned and she smiled inspite of herself, " you were so dominating.. I wasn't used to it'"

"and now?"

"errmm.. (she hid her face in the broadness of his chest) I think I like being dominated by u.."
Mayank was caught offguard.. they both had shared many beautiful moments together, they had even confessed their strong affection for each other, but the way Nupur had just given herself up to him, by saying that one line, was something that filled his heart with profound joy.. but he knew, the statement needed some corrections.. " I wont ever dominate u princess.. yes we will have our ego clashes and I admit, I always look forward to them'"
He grinned and somehow Nupur relaxed in her arms.. after saying what was in her heart she was feeling a bit weird.. yes she did like the protective aura he gave her, but she did needed this assurance form her.. strangely, that week was all about them.. assurances'
And it was further proved when he leaned and took her lips in a deep, yet tender kiss' as if proving what he just said, and meanwhile taking away that nervousness'

Finally the day of the exam arrived and Nupur was more nervous then she had ever been in her life.. she heard her father call her and so getting up she quickly got ready and it was until she was half way down the stairs that she quickly switched on her mobile to check for mayank's message.. she needed it more than any other day'
however she was disappointed to find just one message and that too from gunjan.. trying to find excuses for the missing message, she plastered a smile on her face and entered the dining room, only to find an addition to the table..
"array good morning beta.."
hesitantly looking away she quickly hugged her dad and her gaze again traveled to ..
"Nupur beta, mayank bus abhe aya.. isne socha ye khud tmen exam center tak chor ayega.."
her dad was smiling, she could sense it and this was enough for her to openly stare and the smiling Mayank sitting infront of her..
not knowing what she ate, she just remembered kissing her dad goodbye and leaving with Mayank.. it wasn't until they were outside, that Mayank swiftly slid her hand into his and announced, " I thought we will both walk to the center.. sath he to hai.."
she herself had planned the same, but Mayank Sharma holding her hand and standing beside was not a part of it..
"princess'"
she looked up at him and tried to smile but failed miserably..
he stopped just inside her gate and holding both her hand in his, looked at her, " you will do it princess.. I know it.. and ur dad who is standing at the window looking down at us to make sure what kind of moral values I have, know it too.."
Nupur glanced at the window to indeed find her dad standing there. Remembering the numerous kisses Mayank and Nupur had shared, she got all red but waving at her dad she turned to quickly move out of the gate and giggle the way she wanted to'
Watching her giggle he smiled himself and still holding her hand, they both moved in silence to the center..
This was something new between them.. this silence that was assuring in itself.. Nupur was too nervous to talk, but the way she held onto his hand was evidence enough how badly she needed him'

Nupur came out of the exam center smiling widely and switched on her mobile to call her dad and message Mayank..
She first called her dad knowing how worried he will be , and just when she ended the call, all grinning she was surprised by a familiar hand holding hers and an achingly familier voice whispering, " ur glow tells me u did it princess'"
She turned around and controlling the urge to throw her arms around him , smiled at him.. " I think u were right aboutyour student , SIR'"
He grinned and lead her out of the center..
On their way home she told him all about the paper and how she had successfully answered all questions.
However Mayank already knew she would have done it, so what he wanted was, to hold her in his arms and he did exactly that as soon as they entered the house' "I was dying to do this since morning.."
He whispered holding her in his strong arms'
However Nupur had her mind working on something else..
"Mayank'"

Mayank: " hmm.."
"now that m done with exam, I need something'"
she looked up to find Mayank looking down at her a bit confused, but his nod told her she can go on..
"errmm.. I want you to take me to another date.."
she bit her lip and waited for his response but the way his shoulders shook and his eyes twinkled, a definitely signal that he was on the verge of laughing, she was just not expecting this.

"Mayank'", she frowned and he grinned' "sweetheart u said about me dominating u, and this is the second time u invited me on a date.. I suggest.. (he leaned and placed his lips softly on hers) if u will just be a bit less impulsive and give me the honor.. (he was nibbling her lower lip now, making her hold onto him for support) I will love to be the one inviting my beautiful princess to a date.."
and with this he covered her lips with his and kissed her passionately.
