Why Bollywood annoys me...

Because we make 1000 movies a year but only a handful are truly fab.

Because we're still light years away from consistent film craft, storytelling, dialogue and screenplay - (Messrs Kashyap, Banerjee, Bhardwaj, Amin, Hirani, and some of the new breed fly the flag, but they are exceptions)
Because there are only two considerations with us - box office and 'star kaun hai?'
Because we constantly plagiarise Hollywood plots in pathetic remakes - we have so many great stories of our own, so why copy - Raj Kapoor, Vijay Anand, Guru Dutt never stole.
Because in our desperate need to idolise, we make unnecessary demi gods out of our filmstars - they are vain, throw tantrums , show up hours late at shoots, costing producers lakhs - they're mere actors, mere humans, so treat them accordingly- for Christsakes, all our true heroes died in the Freedom Struggle.
Because the media for some reason feel Bip's new toned body and Shahid's new haircut are more newsworthy than their respective acting abilities - let alone farmer suicides in Gujarat
Because when Bollywood does rarely make a good or an important film, we find a reason to protest or bring it down - DK Bose in Delhi Belly...reservation in Aarakshan...
Because Bollywood is one world, not our only world.

I dont find Bollywood annoying speak frankly. If someone doesnt like something like films or sports its easy to ignore it. Only thing I find tiresome these days is the promotions by stars-of their films, products they endorse, causes they support and of themselves.

Dibakar Bannerjee and Shimit Amin I suppose. The problem is apart from Anurag Kashyap the rest make movies less frequently than even national elections.

Dunno about GD, but Raj Kapoor had worked on some movies that were stolen from Hollywood viz. It Happened One Night.

I guess, Vijay Anand's Teesri Manzil was also inspired from some H-Flick. 🤔
