Mona is already strong and successful.

Why does she need to be a career woman in order to be considered successful and/or strong?

Mona is strong, but not assertive enough. At times she behaves like a doormat, esp with her father-in-law: I didn't like how she ran to take his rage after just one angry phone call. Also, the way she rushed home from Delhi leaving her sister's wedding, just because Pradeep was upset--come on now, who does that? And doesn't it set an unrealistic standard for other homemakers?

i agree... i find Mona is too submissive at times. there have been instances when she should have voiced her opinion or taken a firm stand.. but for her.. her family comes first more than anything else.. i mean no harm in that.. but to become a doormat and take the anger on oneself certainly kills the confidence... hence she needs to get out of the house..

I agree with Bylt, and Rups and what is that other SIL doing?? Hatching eggs, She cam also give a helping hand , when she is in town and so called at home, EVen The MIL can assert things to that Mallika that you are a part of the house / Family or she feels that they are stying with them so she canot say a word, But she should
Even Mona yes she is amazing mom , homemaker but she should draw a line somewhere and the work distributions is neccessary not one can toss you around with things , thats Mona has to come to terms with
