PART 21

It was quite a different morning. Geet was awake much earlier than her routine. Everything felt so new and refreshing. She had always been trying to cinvince herself that it didn't matter to her and that she could live her life like that. But now when that burden was removed from her heart, only did she realize what she had been bearing from a long time- it felt like a lifetime. Only now she had realized how wrong she was to think that she could bear all that throughout her life... it was possible!

She got fresh after taking bath and got ready for office. Everything felt interesting today. She was no more lost in the puzzling questions of her life. "It feels so light!"... she thought as she combed her hair and tied them into a braid. A slight smile automatically crept on her face as she picked up her bag.

"Someone looks really happy!!" Pari noticed her smile as she entered her room and couldn't hold back from teasing her.

Geet's smile widened at her friend's antics and she left her room without responding to her.

But Pari was not in a mood to give up.

"Fine, now people don't even reply to me!" she said as she followed Geet.

"Han, why would they now that they have found someone special to talk to." without waiting for Geet's reply she continued her teasing program.

Geet turned back at her words shaking her head at her drama helplessly.

"Pari stop your drama. And what's with your 'Now this, now that'??" Geet asked her in her dominating tone.

"Listen, nothing has changed... I'm the same Geet and you're the same Pari, my sweet friend" she told her pinching her cheek at her last words and smiled, but then again her tone was a serious one as she continued pointing her finger at Pari "and don't think that I don't know what you're up to."

"But don't forget that you can't make me nervous by doing all this drama" she said smirking at Pari as they both seated themselves for breakfast.

"Haan" Pari said with a heavy sigh, "after all you are the girlfriend of THE MAAN SINGH KHURANA" she continued, uttering 'MAAN SINGH KHURANA' most dramatically... "you must have got influenced!"

Geet again pretended to ignore her comment controlling her smile.

"I hope you don't forget to smile in his company."

Maan was had just got back after his routine exercise and rushed to get ready for office.

As he came downstairs for breakfast, dadi and annie were already there waiting for them.

"Good morning" he uttered as he took his seat and started his breakfast in hurry.

"Maan why are you in such a hurry?? it's hardly 8 yet!" Dadi inquired seeing him gulping down his coffee.

He wasn't expecting such a question from dadi that too when he didn't have a reasonable answer. As a result he almost choked on his coffee and put the cup down.

"Uhhh... dadi actually I have a very important meeting with a client today and I'll have to make sure that all the preparations are final...therefore I thought I should reach office early today." he concocted up a reason after stumbling in the beginning.

Dadi listened to him carefully and smiled a little when he had completed.

"I see." she said most casually and continued with her breakfast before pausing again as she addressed him, "Maan beta, once you're done with your meeting, do bring the CLIENT home along with you. I would like to meet her." she again continued having her breakfast as he snapped his head up on her words only to be distracted by Annie's giggling.

"Dadi, Bhai already liked his office but now his like will grow into love. And before he starts to spend whole day at office, we should bring the centre of attention home." Annie couldn't let go of the opportunity to tease her brother and dadi joined her in her giggles.

Geet was already in her cabin when Maan reached office. He went straight to his room and took his seat- but not before throwing a glance at the busy Geet across the glass partition. He smiled at the sight and then starting working on some file.

His concentration was disturbed by a knock at the door. He looked up with frowned expressions only to find Geet opening the door and getting in. His frown immediately turned into gladness as he saw her walking towards the table.

"Good morning sir!" she greeted him confidently as if she was talking to some random guy or if there was nothing new or special about her meeting him. He raised his brows at her gesture.

"Sir, your signatures are needed on these documents." she asked in the most professional manner.

Maan, who was shocked at first, was now amused at her show of professionalism.He gave a crooked smiled when he realized why she was acting like that, which Geet couldn't notice.

"Hmmm" he took the file from her and signed it without reacting to her behavior.

He closed the file but instead of handing it over, he stood up from his chair and walked towards her at the other side of the table.

She was startled at his move but he was coming closer to her with each passing second until there was a space of few inches left between them. She instinctively stepped back. Now with his each step forward she was retreating back until the wall behind her struck her. She gasped as she realized she she was trapped between the wall and his body. She couldn't move forward because she knew that it would be lethal at that moment and she couldn't move back because she was not capable.

She looked at him as she felt heat emitting from his body.

It felt like he was the lord of fire and she was melting in his presence like a peice of ice. His breath was falling on her face and jolted her whole body. She closed her eyes as she couldn't match his gaze and tried to take a deep breath.

"Sir please!!" she managed to speak somehow and brought him back to his senses. He was lost in her uptill now but recovered himself after hearing her voice. He had, for some time, forgotten what it all started with, but now her voice had brought him back to reality.

"Sir? Sir nahin Maan!" he said correcting her.

"Sir this is office, and I think we should show professionalism at office." she said sternly as she had recovered from his trance now.

"Professionalism" he said under his breath as he retreated back giving her some space.

She was waiting for this opportunity. As soon as he gave her way, she took the file from the table and rushed out of his cabin.

"So, Miss Professional Geet Handa, let's see how long you can stick to your professionalism!" he smirked as he thought.

My holidays are over and studies have started, therefore I'm not able to take much time out to update. I won't be able to update too frequently now but will try to do it as soon as I can. PART 22

Next day when Geet reacehed office, she got to know that Maan was already there in his room. She wanted to discuss some project matter with him therefore she was about to enter his room when Adi saw her.

"Geeet!!" he yelled when he saw her entering the room. Her hands stopped and she turned around to find a startled Adi.

"Geet Maan sir has asked not to disturb him while his friend is in there." he explain her.

"Friend??" Geet could still not get what was going on.

"Yes, Sameera, Maan sir's friend had come to meet him and he doesn't want anyone to distrub them." Adi informed her on the facts and left from there.

Geet registered Adi's words and stared at the door for few seconds. She was still not able to make any sense out of it.

"Maan didn't tell me about this friend of him."

"And why has he decided to meet her in office like this?? He was never this casual at office before." she thought as she made her way towards her cabin.

She enetered the cabin and moved towards her chair and had a look across the glass aprtition as she sit down her chair.

Maan was in a very joyful mood sitting beside Sameera on the couch. She frowned at the sight in front of her and her frowning expressions didn't go unnoticed by Maan who stole a glance of her every now and then. He smiled in his mind and continued talking to Sameera.

Geet gave him one last angry look and turned back to her work angrily.

"Is this the way someone behaves at office?? "

"And this friend of him, what was her name...??..." she tried to recall.

"whatever... but look at her.. the way she is sitting there.. like she is his childhood friend." she cursed what she had just seen.

She was clearly jealous to see him being that happy with some other girl.

"What so important they are discussing that he has disallowed anyone to enter his room??" she again fumed in anger.

This was the first time that she had got jealous of some other girl. Maybe because she had never seen him with another girl like this before or because their relationship had now changed. Because now they had confessed their feeling, because they now knew that they belonged to each other only no matter what came their way.

She was, no doubt, angry on him. Not being able to bear what was going on, she decided to make herself busy in work.

She saw the girl leaving after an hour and Maan getting back to her work. Then she heard her phone ringing. She attended the call only to hear him on the other side'

"Geet come to my cabin." he said this and ended the call.

"So now he remembers me." she was still angry on him and made her way towards his room.

"Yes sir" she said trying to be normal after she entered his room.

Maan raised his brow at her words.

"So Miss Handa's professionalism is still alive." he smirked as he thought that.

"Err... Geet could you help me with this report. We need to finalize it by today." he reciprocated her behavior.

"Sure sir" she grabbed a chair and sit down.

Throught the span none of them talked about anything personal and acted like normal boss and emoplyee.

They had just wound up the work when Maan saw time, it was 6 pm already.

"Geet I think we should leave now." he said to her realizing that he had kept her busy all day.

She nodded as she arranged the files and got up to leave.

She took her bag from her cabin and left. She had just left the office building when she saw Maan waiting for her outside. She looked at him with questioning expressions.

"Come, I'll drop you." he said to in a serious tone and walked towards his car. She looked at his retreating figure and followed him after thinking for a few seconds.

He drove off the car when she sat in quietly. Silence prevailed for some time. She was looking outside the window and he looked at her every now and then. She was unusually quiet today and he decided to ask her what the matter was.

"What is it Geet??" He asked her looking at her face as she turned around hearing his words.

"Why are you quiet??"

And as if she was waiting for an opportunity.

"Maan if you think that by calling in your "girlfriends" and telling everybody not to distrub you when you are busy with them, you can force me to change my behavior in office; then you are wrong." she spated all her anger out changing back to her normal self.

Maan was taken aback by her dominating tone at first and then seeing his real Geet back he gave his crooked smile.

"I didn't force you into anything" he said looking staright at the road.

"I know you didn't"

"But I also know that's what you want me to do." she said to him. He didn't respond to her now and kept looking straight.

"Listen Maan, I didn't mean to disappoint you or refuse to you" she tried to convince him.

"Maan, I know it very well that you would never have allowed any one for any such behavior if it weren't me." she said softly placing her hand on his shoulder.

"And I don't want you to change your rules because of me." her voice was ever soft and affectionate. He turned his head to look at her and couldn't refuse to her pleading eyes. He nodded his head in affirmation as one of his hand moved to be placed atop of her hand on his shoulder.They both smiled at each other.

Then suddenly her pleading eyes turned into dominating ones as she took her hand off and said in loud tone again , "But since this is not office, may I ask you Mr Maan Singh Khurana what were you doing with that girl??" she said angrily poking his arm with her finger. H estopped the car on the sidden turn of her behavior.

"Girl??" he asked innocently but then he saw her angry glare and continued, "Oh.. you mean Sameera... woh actually her father is one of our clients, so she had come to discuss some project matter only." he made up a reason quickly which was somewhat true.

"Oooh..." she said faking a smile acting to get what he had said but then the smile disappeared all of sudden, "So do you always meet your clients alone in your room and tell everyone not to disturb you, or it is an exception for female clients only??" she was no where near to let him go. And Maan who was thinking that he had easily convinced her, was again startled by her question.

He looked at her, his Geet. He just realized that whatever this girl did, he would always fall more for her. Her anger, her scolding, her love, her complaining everything was so special that he would always be lost in her.

Once again, her finger poking his arm brought him back to senses and he smiled at her expressions demanding an answer to her question.

"Geet, don't tell me that you're jealous" he moved closer to her and whispered in his husky voice as if telling her some top secret. His winning smile added fuel to fire.

"There's no reason for me to be jealous" came her content reply. Her answer was a reflection of her heart's voice. She knew what she owned... and she was confident about it.

And that confident in her eyes didn't go unnoticed by Maan as they both smiled at each other knowing what her words meant.
