I looove this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's so romantic! And your description was so good.👏 I really hope this comes true.😆 I mean the current track on the show has been really sucking. 🤢I hope it gets better. Anyways, it was great fantasizing about what could be. 😃Great story by the way. But I hope there's more to come. You can't just stop it there. 😉Good job and keep up the great work!!! 😃

OS - Arnav and Khushi: Part 2

Author's note: Hey guys, so this is the next part. I apologize for being late, and also for any mistakes I may have made in the parts in Hindi. Enjoy!

Arnav and Khushi: Part 2

She was burning up. Arnav had carried her from beside the pool and laid her on the bed earlier when she had collapsed in his arms. "Khushi", he whispered. She didn't respond. Arnav touched her face again. She really was burning up. Arnav panicked. "Khushi!" he called out loudly this time. No response. How did this happen? His hands clenched into fists in anger. How could she let this happen? Or was this another one of her stunts to attract attention? Why does he even care? He stood up in a fit of rage.

"Arnavji..." Her voice called him from behind. He spun around, only to find her still unconscious. "Arnavji..." she said again. She was talking in her sleep. Arnav slowly stepped toward her. "Aap... aap kaha ho... kuch bhool gaye aap..." Arnav sat down beside her gently. And without thinking, his hand touched hers tenderly. "Kuch bhool gaye aap... hum... hum..." she whispered. "Tum kya Khushi?" He whispered back softly. His disobedient hand reached to push back the unruly lock of hair that had wandered to her face. Yeh main kya kar raha hoon... he thought to himself. No, I know better than to do this. His hand froze midair as he tried to muster all the hatred he bore for this girl. She was the reason behind all his sufferings, all this chaos in his mind. Sufferings. Arnav hated the fact that he was suffering, despite any of this being his doing. He had thought he would never ever let another person make him suffer again. He had thought the walls he had so deliberately created around himself would be able to protect him from anything, prevent him from sparing even a second of his time on things like emotions, feelings... and definitely from heartbreaks. He hated her so much for changing that. More for that than what she had actually done. What he had witnessed that night on the terrace would have crushed him any day. Because he would have felt every drop of pain his di, his lovely, motherly di would have felt had she known. But at least he could have then focused solely on destroying the girl that had brought all the distress, all the pain. But now... he didn't know any more. He could almost feel his thoughts and emotions colliding with each other inside his head. Kyun aaj bhi jab woh saamne nahin hoti hai, toh dhadkanein rukh jaate hain (Why does his heart still cease to beat if she is not around?)... Kyun aaj bhi jab woh saamne aa hi jati hai, toh uski chehre se nazar hi nahin hatte (Why can't he take his eyes off her when she does come near him)... Kyun aaj bhi jab uski aankhon mein aansoon dikhe, toh kuch bhi achcha nahin lage (Why does his world seem to collapse every time she is hurt)... Every time he hurts her, it only hurts him more... Kyun aaj bhi saansein rukh jaate hain jab us se bichharnein ki soch aate hain (Why can't he breathe even now when even the thought of losing her comes to mind). Arnav leaned his head back and closed his eyes in pain. He tried to gather all his hurt and anger in a last attempt to orient his mind, to resolve all these conflicted emotions. Only the emotions became cloudier, started diffusing out in every direction, seeping into every pore of his body, overwhelming him completely. A lonely drop came down as he opened his eyes. He looked at her. And again, he could not look away. His gaze adhered to her face like it was the first time he saw her... and like he would never see her again. Kyun din raat dekhne ki bawajud bhi, har ghari nafrat karne ki bawajud bhi, har lamha uss hi ko dekhne ko mann karta hai? (Despite seeing her every day, despite hating her every moment, why does his heart long to see her every second of the day?) Yeh kaisa ehsaas hai... jo paas aane na de... aur door bhi jaane na de. Arnav felt paralysed in his frustration, dumbfounded by his inability get up and leave this room, despite all his efforts. And before he could think any farther, he was stopped by a soft sigh.

***

Khushi woke up half expecting to be dead. As her vision cleared she saw the face she would have least expected to see. Arnav. Khushi's mind was still a bit foggy but she could tell he was concerned. Oh so this is what it takes... but she was too exhausted... both physically and mentally, to care. She closed her eyes again and leaned toward the other side. "Khushi?" he asked. She was silent for a while. Then she replied with a "hmm".

Arnav didn't know what to say.

"Tumhe tez bukhar hai"

"Hmm" she kept facing the other direction.

"Toh kya tum uth sakti ho? Main dawai lekar aata hoon"

"Nahin chahiye" she finally spoke up.

Arnav was stunned. He stood up as he felt the anger rushing back in along his veins. In his last attempt to cling to some sanity, he found his comfort zone, and landed on his lounge chair.

For what seemed like centuries, they both remained there speechless, absorbing the silence, burning in it.

***

Khushi got up slowly. As she tried to get up on her feet, Arnav barked at her "What do you think you're doing?"

Khushi didn't respond. She was tired of playing these cryptic games with Arnav. He seemed to be pulling cards out of a hat completely at random every day, and behaving accordingly. She was tired of trying to decrypt what each of his words meant, each of his mood reflected. Maybe I should throw some of that back at him, she thought to herself.

She tried to walk across the room to reach the door when Arnav blocked her way.

***

Elsewhere, a snake bit Shyaam, and died as a result of it.

***

"Where are you going?" He asked her, eye to eye.

Khushi maintained his eye contact. "The kitchen of course, aap ke liye khaana jo banana hai... ghar mein aur koi toh hai nahi" She said with a blank face and a flat voice.

"Are you crazy? Tumhara dimaag kharab ho gaya? Why are you doing this!?" he all but yelled out loud.

Her eyes went even colder. "Pati parmeshwar jo ho aap humari, bhool gaye?"

Arnav took another step closer to her. He grabbed her waist with one hand and pulled her closer to him. His face was but an inch away from hers. His eyes were almost desperate. Khushi felt light headed again. Her left hand had caught Arnav's shoulder when he had pulled her toward him, and her right hand was clutching his shirt.

"Khushi... stop this now Khushi... ab bas bhi karo..." Arnav said in a tone that has been long foreign to her. Her eyes closed in a sudden surge of emotions. She gently rested her head on his shoulder. And inexplicably, against all reasons... in a place she would have least expected it, Khushi found peace.
