Let me start by saying that as a character, I LOVE Kunal - and I LOVE Sameers portrayal of Kunal. I mean Kunal is an ass, he is rude, he is egotistic, he is impractical, self-absorbed, impatient, easily angered and too unforgiving of people's mistakes. But he has several redeeming qualities - he is smart, he is responsible towards his loved ones and he is as unforgiving towards himself when he makes a mistake, as he is towards others. He is frank, honest and open - sometimes a trifle too much so 😆 But he is a sweetheart. Don't you just love it when he has that baffled look on his face upon seeing Siddhi sad or crying 😳
On the other hand I have a great empathy for Siddhi as well. I can understand what she is going through. She is representative of a lot of women in our country, whether we like it or not, but may be not like too many women on his forum 😉 But the fact is that very often women do keep quiet for several reasons - fear, helplessness, inexperience, lack of ideas. I know of at least two young educated women who kept quiet to their families about physical abuse from their husbands. She may be educated but we forget that education often does not teach us the life skills we need - confidence, street smartness, the ability to communicate well, think of our feet, how to deal with pressure. That's who Siddhi is – a bookishly smart person but not practically smart. 😕
After all Siddhi has gone through in the past month or so – falling in love with someone completely opposite to her, being loved and hated by him, finding out that his ex-gf and her current boss still has designs on him, consummating her marriage and then getting asked for a divorce. Whew what a roller coaster! She barely managed to stave off her divorce with Seema's help and now she is thrown into the cauldron of this rape case and her husband – her very smart husband – wants her to stay completely out of it. She is shaken. I can honestly say I don't know how I will react in such a situation. But I think I would also be very shaken and need a few days to compose myself before taking the challenge head on. Imagine being put on the witness stand at a moments notice and being caught in the dilemma of what to say knowing that your words could bring disappointment to your whole family. Not an easy one.😕
Kunal on the other hand is used to failure. That's the reason I love him so. 😳Because he is a flawed person – he is a flawed hero, unlike the prince charming of our fairy tales. He has lifted himself up after a big fall and is bringing his life back on track. So he has no fear of doing the wrong thing, no fear of disappointing people, no fear of falling again – because he knows he can lift himself up again. He is truly confident – and as said many times on this forum – perhaps a trifle over-confident.😡
So before we go into today's episode let's brace ourselves for some bungling from Siddhi 😡– though I think she won't say that she saw Kunal and Witcha hugging and Kunal saying "I love you." But she won't be convincing at all – leading to the precap that we saw. Then when Siddhi takes over the case, she will prepare and do better. That's who she is. Remember how she spoke confidently against Kunal during the earlier case when he presented the photographs as evidence. She presented counter proof and negated his argument. I think she will be just fine against Thakral. Not because she is a "mahaan bharatiya nari." But because she owes her husband that much after messing up his case and being less than forthright with him.
In the end that's what a marriage is all about. You work together through your ups and downs, joys and sorrows. When you make mistakes you forgive each other and keep on going. I think I would be very happy if the Cvs show the court case as a partnership between them, especially since I think they've been doing a great job of showing how their relationship has progressed from mutual hatred to mutual affection.😛
Again sorry for the long post. Thanks for reading and look forward to your comments.
