After a long time of driving somewhere, they had finally stopped. I couldn't do anything, I was helpless.
Someone had opened the door, and the light flushed into the whole van. Soon, they put a blindfold around my eyes, and navigated me around the building.
I was then left in a chair, tied up, blindfolded and tired. I struggled, trying to get out, but I knew I wouldn't be able to.
**Flashback**
I and my parents were having a lovely day at the beach. I was 17, and back then my parents were really happy and got along with each other. Every Sundays we always went on outings. This Sunday we decided to go to the beach since it was a nice warm day.
We were all sitting down on the warm sand, all watching the sunset. It was beautiful, the sky was light pink, and the sea reflected the sun. I sat there watching people go back to their cars, as I ate the remains of my ice cream.
"I need to go to the toilet," Mother had said.
"I'll come with you if you want," I told her.
"No Monia dear, it's okay, I won't be too long now," and with that, she just walked away.
After half an hour, father was starting to get worried. "Where is she Monia?" he had said.
"Main nahi jaanti, I don't know, she said she went to the toilet. Maybe she couldn't find it" I had reassured him.
After a whole hour passed, Mother still wasn't here. "Papa, Maa kaha hai?"
"I don't know Monia, but when she comes back I'm not going to let her go easily," He had told me. I got really worried now. We had searched the whole beach and pier for her but she was no where. It was already dark, and I had a strange feeling we were being followed.
"Papa, I want to go home," I told him
"No, we have to find your Maa,"
"PAPA! I WANT TO GO NOW," I screamed. I was getting really tired.
"Okay, I'll drop you off home," he said in defeat
"Ha naye toh," I murmured.
That night, I heard my mother come in through the front door with my father. That was the night their arguments had started.
**Present**
I woke up tied up to a chair. It seemed like I was in a different place to the van. There was a door right in front of me, but how would I get out of this chair?
Then I heard a small muffled noise, getting louder and louder every second. Followed by that noise, I heard footsteps, getting louder by each step.
The footsteps soon stopped, it sounded like the person was just behind the door. I knew I couldn't let them find out that I was awake; I had to pretend that I was sleeping.
As soon as I closed my eyes, the door opened. I heard a low whisper, and I had a strange feeling that there was more than one person here.
"Think she's still sleeping" it sounded like Charvaka.
I heard some movement, and then there was a big clash.
"That should be enough for her to eat and drink" another voice said, but it wasn't as rough sounding as the other guys.
"We're going to have to leave someone here to watch on her," Charvaka carried on.
"We should leave Raju here" the voice said again.
"Yes, good thinking boy, go and get him after I've gone" And as soon as that, I think I hear them leaving.
I slowly opened my eyes, to check if my hearing senses were correct, but I was wrong. There stood a guy, probably about 20 years of age, looking at me.
"I see you've woken up" he said gently. I just nodded, and gave a yawn, to show that I was tired.
The guy was about 5ft 7, and he had short black hair and brown eyes. He looked quite friendly and not rough looking like all the other guys. Ours eyes just locked with each other, until I looked away.
He started to walk up towards me. I started to tense up. Stupid girl, he probably doesn't like you anyway.
"I don't know why your here, but I'm going to let you go," he said. "But you will have to keep a promise for me," he continued.
"W-what do you want me to promise you?" I hesitated.
"You can't tell anyone that I let you escape. Is that clear?" he replied. I nodded. "Good, now what's your name?" he asked.
"Monia, and what's your name?" I asked. The guy started to fiddle with something at the back of the chair. Suddenly, I found myself free. "Go, run Monia, the place is clear" he said.
"But who are you? Why are you being nice to me?" I asked, standing up slowly.
"Just go!" he ignored me again. With that, I started to run. I didn't know who he was, and I didn't thank him. But I knew I had to run for my life.
Whoever he was, he was kind and nothing like my father. Maybe it was my father's plan to kidnap me, or maybe then again it wasn't.
