L ets begin with the stand out aspect yesterday. No its not the story, oh oh, 😆😆 but the lead actor's performance.👏👏👏👏👏

Disgust at finding his sister has been abused physically and mentally, ...shock at imagining that he too was fooled by a girl he fell for, ...mind numbing pain at whats happening to his closest kin, ...not able to decide whether he should be happy or supremely sad for an unborn nephew/ niece, ...the need to scream out in pain but act calm and pleased, ...the fervent reach out to God, ...the closely personal and primal cry-out to a dead parent, ...and the feeling of total deception, helplessness, and profound sorrow.
Above is just a line of what Barun Sobti showcased as ASR/ Arnav and I can add much more. But will like to say just one word

GRAVITAS!!

If there was any word to describe Barun and his performance yesterday "Gravitas" would be it. A performance that showcased the substance and depth of ASR/ Arnav's multi-layered personality, back-story and what he is going through at this point in time.

Love you Barun and wish you or Mrs Sobti or someone close to you reads this note of appreciation😃

The Mind-boggling😕

So ASR where do we go from here?

Action 1. Go and get married to Khushi...ermmn, what does that solve? Will it suddenly stop the two imagined in love people (Shyam+Khushi) from seeing each other. If fact, if any, bringing Khushi to RM just puts them under one roof with unlimited access to the terrace and other ...ermmm spots

Action 2. Abuse Khushi, ...ermmn, what does that solve? Will Anjali's betrayal be reduced? Will the unborn be suddenly born out of justice and love? Will Shyam give up on his dastardly acts towards Anjali?

Action 3. Not attempt to tell Anjali again, Ok I dont mean tell her in the middle of a wedding 😆 but what will not telling her achieve? ...Ermmn, would you like your sister to be with an ass... or would you like her to take the blow, heal-up and lead a life of dignity, perhaps with another respectable man.

This is 2012 for God's sake and an India which may not be as shining but which certainly is more open towards a lot of things. The amount of divorced and remarried friends and kin that I know of far exceeds the first marriage ones. And lets not even get to the class of society you belong to, given that now thankfully, a lot of people are open and accepting about these things.
Think ASR...please! 😳😳😳...I for one don't believe you are not thinking or analysing, because the cool and resolve you expressed in Anjali's bedroom yesterday was a product of your presence of mind and thinking👏👏👏
So think...
The super mind-boggling😕😕

Madame Anjali, who thinks her chotey ASR is "every breath she takes" ...not my line darlings, but hers😆😆😆 ...does not see through the absolute torrent of pain her brother is going through??😃

Yesterday, for the first time I really felt bad for ASR, yesterday he deserved a much better sister.😭😭
The super, super mind-boggling😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕...😆😆😆

Ermmn, Miss Khushi, ...so you think Shyam will beome Saint Shyam because he is fathering a child now!!😲

What the ...I meant what the thinking!😆😆😆...And this thinking is after Shyam saying explicitly to you that "I think of you when I am with Anjali". Do you even realise that he thought of you while creating a kid.😲

And you say you love the man, right, so does he not still deserve to know that ...(1) you were almost molested, if not really molested and (2) his sister is being abused

Hai rey Nandkishor!!

If you ask me, i'd say choose number one, because this story line for me is about revenge. and shyam is a good adversary for arnav, abusing khushi is not necessary, he just has to marry her and shyam's little toy of joy is poof!!! I mean seriously the looks shyam was giving arnav while he was hugging anjali today was a blatant come and get me if you can!!! he practically pulled him down the revenge path, I dont believe for one moment that shyam will stop drooling over khushi, but yeah it will finally force shyam to realize that Arnav is game and willing to play. Arnav will have to be willing to get his hands a bit dirty if he truly wants to get rid of Shyam, telling anjali without any proof, seems a bit anti-climatic, i mean this is a serial, so for the sake of wanting to see arnav's anger properly justified and aimed at the right guy I say choose number 1 and let see a good old fashion smarted played revenge, dont know why but i'm in the mood for a good solid take down, khushi's character doesnt really appeal to me, the love story is nice but there's just so much eye staring and hand holding and so on that i'm willing to see, and i believe january was my limit. kudos to Barun's acting, but i am afraid that it will all be in vain, if he only focuses his anger on khushi.hope that is not the case. waiting for the next episode.
nice post, enjoyed your take...

Hmmn...thats thought provoking👏
The story for me is about a man called ASR, his flawed personality and his alter ego Arnav
You are right in the sense that the other characters' including Khushi, do not appeal. Not because of the respective actors fault...Only because they are really half baked characterisations and written sloppily...if you know what I mean
Yesteday ASR went from hell to back (how back, we will know today)...but Khushi is still in that one dimensional, I am good, I am innocent, world is great save apart Shyam, and extreme histronics or extreme silence is golden. There are no subtle notes to her character whatever...more importantly there is no learning from experience.
But coming to your point, I feel people like Shyam get turned on only by power and money...never mind the rolls in the hay with obsessions they may have such as Khushi
So, ASR has to cut the money-plant that Shyam is clinging on. That will either bring Shyam to his senses...or reveal his intentions.
Now we can argue that Shyam will then maniputale Anjali...but here is where the serial writers seem to be thouroughly confused.
If Anjali is the second part of this emotional twin called ASR-Anjali...then Anjali should sooner or later connect with her brother and trust him.
Presuming that does not happen, then what is the up until now ASR's intelligence and power worth for? You don't need to collect evidence against Shyam by marrying Khushi...you collect it by tracking him, video tape or whatever...dig up the dirt.
Anyways you and I both know that is how a real life ASR would behave😊...of course this is fiction...and we trudge along the writer's vision of where they want to lead this.
Thanks, loved your take😊

Perhaps i need to re-evaluate shyam's true object of obsession, for you are correct power and money is the ultimate high, therefore maybe shyam true love is arnav🤓 now how about that for a twist, ( okay forgive me i watched glee this week i admit it) OKay lets say for arguement sake that Arnav could cut the purse strings, but again, would that satisfy the anger that is building inside a man as complex as arnav's character is? I mean, there is a history between arnav and shyam, there is has got to be some catalyst that has been building, for me a story to be strong and memorable the antagonist has to be worthy of the protagonist. Shyam has been flying under arnav's radar for far to long, now whether arnav has been just tolerating shyam for the sake of anjali, or has shyam managed to fool arnav for this long, has yet to be determined i think? havent watched this show from the beginning. (so making so assumptions if i'm wrong please do correct me.)

I think by marrying khushi that is the first throw down to declaring war against shyam, telling him i'm gunning for you and you better watch out, also i believe apart of arnav really does want to marry khushi,

As for this symbiotic relationship between anjali its got me a bit confused, at first I thought anjali is a strong women, skilled and intelligent in her dealing with the people in her family, but since yesterday i was a bit put out by her lack of read on arnav's emotions, she's usually pointing her emotional compass right at him. how she miss read her brother, i can only say the news of the unborn child truly has over taken her mind and her emotions. which i can understand, women who have been trying conceive and when they finally do, they transform almost instantly. so i'll give her a pass i guess.

and i agree more than revenge this story line is more about arnav's journey, well said, thanks for taking the time...

Shyam's true love is Arnav😆😆😆😆
Ok lets go give that suggestion...Not thats what I call...Rishta nayi and Soch bhi Nayi😆😆
I wrote in one of my earlier topics that ASR never seemed to be enamoure dby Shyam, the way the rest of the family is ...so there has to be some back story. Its difficult to reconcile that the otherwise asture ASR would not catch on to Shyam's over the top expressions of being nice... Also why was no check done on Shyam's whereabouts for extended periods of time...beats me.
But presuming we are at the drawing board now, ASR cuts the purse strings...makes Shyam desperate. That resolves one aspect.
And you are right that it does not resolve ASR's feeling of betrayal both by Shyam and Khushi...but what would be a fitting reply to Shyam...by a person as classy as ASR...should it not be ruin Shyam absolutely, his career, his social status such that Shyam is never able to utter a 'ji' out of his mouth. Suck every ounce of his carefully built up fake credibility ...
Revenge...but in a control, decisive, and absolute manner.
As for Khushi,,,,,,,for a person as private and self-priding as ASR...what should be his most natural reaction...Control+Alt+Delete her from his mind...that would be the worst blow to Khushi...not that he hates her,,,,,,,but that her really does not think at all about her.
And then lets see how she gets his trust back.
As for the Anjali-ASR...theirs is a beautiful story and one which until now was on track. But yesterday Anjali, who by her own admission lives for her brother, took a huge character miss-step, but not even realising that he was in a turmoil...
Well I will go with what you say and leave it at post shock of getting pregnant😊...but sooner or later, they need to show her catch on to his pain...else that will not sit with the Bro-sis bonding they harp on
Thanks for your time too😳

@jwmrk rishta nayi and soonch bhi nayi very very funny, you have a good sense of humour.
I have to be honest i'm still on the fence about khushi and why she is to be blamed at all in all of this, is it a crime to be so naive? I don't really hmmm throughly at a loss when it comes to her, but i think at this junction it would be unwise to take her out of the equation, becuase the viewers are so invested in this couple, people want to see them together, be it all doom and gloom as long as we get a good eye locking hand holding, grabing, pushing shoving, hell anything, what have we all come down to??? I think as long as Arnav doesnt go all manic on khushi and treats her with a cold but honest relationship, i think that would satisfy me, this is a serial, so i'll have to give a lot of leeway, here, but i really hope the writers stay true to their characters, and dont make them do things out of character, but then also in the same token, to error is but human, and i like my characters to make mistakes, to correct to live, and learn...i hope i made some sense, if not please ignore my post, thanks.

Its not a crime to be naive...and I all along felt Khushi made an error of judgement, which all of us do at some point😳...so there is only as much as one can punish her...its her family that needs to take the bigger blame.
But to not learn from mistakes is not a great virtue either. Especially when there is no doubt about the havoc Shyam is capable of creating. I mean the guy practically jostled and felt you...in plain dictionary thats called molesting...and you still decide to keep mum...why...you know the guy is telling you explictly that the only thing between us is his wife...and you still keep mum...you know he is leering at you in a room filled with family...and you still decide to keep mum.
Beats me...
Yes a love story is important...as that is the initial crowd puller...but after that there has to be a credible story, at least slightly credible...else it remains a great work by the actors...not by the conceivers!
For me a cold and reserved ASR is much more sexier to woo...than an expletive mouthing bone cruncher...but then I am not the director...😆😆

Guest House scene: The night when Arnav returns to RM after dropping an unconscious KKG in GH, he & Anju baby have a convo. She says that they have both been betrayed, & that too by their own people, people close to them etc
We don't know much about the past of the siblings, but if this is true, then the betrayal of Shyamu and the supposed betrayal of Khushi would devastate Arnav & Anjali.
It would be like a repeat telecast of their past.

Nice post. I have not seen any of the episodes this week but the forum is enough to get the feel on how the show is proceeding.. . Barun sure is very expressive without much dialogues...

It will be a treat to see him getting close to Khushi just to irk Shyam ...

What ASR has done has only cured the symptom and not the disease... I really don't know the circumstances under which the marriage took place ... But the fact Khushi agreeing to marry ASR should itself have alerted ASR that she is not in love with Shyam... would anyone in love agree to marry another?

It will be also interesting to see how ASR will tackle Shyam if he continues to make a passes at her in the RM... I am sure Shyam will leave no stone unturned... if his marriage did not deter him from making advances towards Khushi why would hers make any difference to him... here's a guy who is obsessed with Khushi ... futher, if shyam gets wind of a forced marriage (if that is how the marriage took place ) being a lawyer he would try to annul it... forced marriages are illegal so it will be interesting to see what he has up his sleeves...

It will be also interesting to see how the families react... everyone seems to have conveniently forgotten that Khushi got engaged to one Shyam...

Another point I find a a bit silly is ASR is willing to tolerate a cheat and crook just for a baby... in fact he has agreed to keep quiet because a shocking news may harm Anji & her baby... doesn't he not think Shyam can do more harm than the news of this deceipt.. ... Shyam will not mend his ways after the baby is born... So to me both ASR & Khushi are on the same footing... their reasons and circumstance for not divulging truth may be different. A guy who is so devious could cause more harm to his sister... she and her baby will be better off without him. CVs want some emotional drama so why spoil their happiness 😆

we of course are in for treat to watch their Tom & Jerry games..

The episode on Friday will end on Khushi & ASR walking in with garlands... the real Tamasha will commence next week ... How far the writers stretch the hate track is anyone's guess.. 😆

There is no doubt that there is a dreaded painful past...A lot of their scenes, especially ASR's monologues showcase that.
the betrayal by Shyam is horrible...they live with him. And so yes this is a repeat of a close person giving a fatal blow, again
The point that we need to realise from ASR and Anjali's perspective is that , no matter how noble the reason, Khushi also subconsciously is betraying them, by having and now continuing to keep a bitter trutrh away from them
Thanks!!
