Will you be mine Forever?

"Riddhima! The Bus is almost about to leave, hurry up", her friend called again as they were all gathered up to finally leave from their camp site. But Riddhima couldn't move as she just stood there staring into the heavenly clouded sky and the beautiful green lake in Nainital that shined underneath. She didn't know why but she couldn't bring herself to take one more step ahead to the bus, to a motive that would take her away from the most wonderful moments of her life, from the most beautiful place in the world and from the most wonderful person ever. She had come to Nanital for a health camp advisor for two weeks with her friend, but little did she know she would that a horribly annoying stranger would swirl her around and sweep her feet away. She slowly started to move recalling each and every moment they had spent together, and with each step she took forward, her heart felt more heavier. Just as she was about to get on to the bus, "The Bus engine has a problem, I called up the mechanic. Mam, you may want to wait, I don't know how long this will take", the bus driver told her. She looked at him, as she was traversed from her world and took in what he said, listening to the whines and complaints of all her friends as they got out of the bus. "Riddhima, we're going inside, tu bhi chal, lets go rest for a bit….don't know how long this mechanic will take…", her friend suggested as she started to move towards the camp house. "I'm fine Reema, you guys go…I need some fresh air, I'll stay out here", she said while heading away from there.

She felt relieved and annoyed at the same time. Relieved, because she wouldn't have to leave this place so soon and annoyed because she found herself wishing to stay here forever, with those memories as her mind reprimanded her of her foolishness. He would have long gone away and forgotten you by now, her mind told her and she couldn't help but feel sad to that. Not knowing what to think or do, she absentmindedly went up the hill near a bench that was laid to see the beautiful city of nainital and sat down looking at the beautiful view. She closed her eyes, feeling a cool breeze caress her cheeks. She closed her and sat there, thinking about him and everything that took place in the past two weeks.

Armaan clutched onto the bracelet that he had in his hands as he looked at it for the hundredth time again, as it reminded him of her, as if she had ever left his mind. He stared at the shiny green crystals that hung down the chain. That same exact green that had held him captivated since the moment they bumped into each other after missing their bus to the same campsite that took place. He recalled each and every bickering moment of theirs, their campfire mischief, the jealousy he felt and the plans he made to keep Riddhima to himself when Mr. Garv, who was a fifty year old man hitting on her. He sighed as he recalled all those moments. But what hit him harder was that look on her face a couple hours ago, when they were parting from each other. There was an incomprehensible grief lurking inside her eyes and he could swear he saw some other emotion as well and his heart swirmed in joy at the thought of what that emotion could be. He clutched onto the bracelet harder, almost as if it were her, well it was for him now. He didn't know when and where he would see her again and those two weeks he had spent with her had become the best ones of his life. And this feeling of not knowing when almost killed him inside, he couldn't deny it any further now. It was more evident than the sun's rays bursting through the cloudy sky. HE didn't know what she felt for him, but his heart knew that she was almost as in with him, in this….. whatever you call it as he was. And maybe this could be the only chance he'd get to test out his hypothesis and he knew what to do now. "He got up, took his bag from the upper compartment of the bus and went up to the driver and asked him to stop. He got down and ran behind the road to the dhaba that they had just passed by. "Bhai Saab, I need a a taxi, yehi koi hai?", he asked. But just then he saw a taxi pull through with more people than it could hold. "Okay, here we are, please pay extra for the extra people", the taxi driver said as he got out counting his fees. Armaan ran to him and asked, "Please can you take me to Nanital camp site, its only fifteen minutes away", he said panting. The driver looked him down, "No way, My Wife is waiting for me. My In-laws are coming. I'm done with duty", he said getting back in to the taxi. "Please, this is really important. I'll pay you double the amount", Armaan suggested panicking. Riddhima must be leaving any minute now, he had to hurry. "No way , My wife will kill me if I'm late", the driver said. Armaan pleaded him, "Please bai saab. If I don't go I'll lose my life forever", he said in hurry. The driver thought for a moment and looked at his worried face. "Teek hai, get in….Love matter hai na….my wife will understand". Love matter, Armaan thought to himself…Was that it… Was this unexplainable joy that was bursting through his heart love? 'Yes you Moron', his heart screamed in joy. Yes! That's it! I'm in love he repeated it to himself…but what he felt for her, this anxiousness, this happiness, this excitement…he felt as if love wasn't siffcient for it. Praying she hadn't left yet, he asked the driver to drive faster. Armaan paid the taxi driver and ran to the campsite and his heart was so relieved to see the camp ground had not left yet. He asked Riddhima's whereabouts and ran to the place at the speed of light.

Riddhima felt a raindrop fall on her cheek, she opened her eyes as the raindrops became more fervent. Realizing she had dozed off she opened her eyes and sat straight. The gushing window became harder and the rain started to fall heavily. She quickly took her dupata from her neck and tried to wrap it around her head to protect her hair, but as she removed her dupatta, it flew away from her and stuck onto a person's face. She turned around and ran to the person, "I'm sorry, Can I have it back please", she said as the person's face was covered with her white dupata. "Not until you give me back my belonging", the voice said as he moved the dupatta from his face. Riddhima's breath got stuck, her world stopped altogether as she heard that voice. It was him, those beautiful blue eyes that were staring at her, with so much of…..emotion. "I didn't know you were such a theif, Riddhima Gupta. It certainly doesn't suit a person like you. So I won't give you back this until you give me back mine", he said passionately, looking into her eyes without blinking for a second. Riddhima's breath hitched at the passion in his eyes and she moved backward as he moved forward backing her against the bench. "What have I stolen?", she managed to ask in small voice. He bent forward and whispered into her ear, "You really don't know", he said and she closed her eyes as she felt his breath on her neck. Seeing her close her eyes, he smiled. He took her left hand and put it on his chest, he cupped her cheek with his other hand and pulled her close. "Look at Me Riddhima. Look at what you have done….", he told her as she slowly opened her eyes. "Look at what you have so shamelessly stolen. You feel those beats…. Yeah…I don't have any control over them anymore…See this heart, It's not with me anymore.. What have you done Riddhima? Why have you taken over my entire mind, heart and soul? Why does my heart not beat for me anymore? Why does my mind stop at you with every thought? What have you done to me Riddhima Gupta?", he said as he pulled her closer to her waist. She just looked at him, saw his eyes full of emotion, so much love, so much concern, she could stare at those eyes forever…..She couldn't handle the amount of joy, the inevitable shock that was going through her, a tear rolled down her cheek as he pulled her closer through her waist. "Don't do this to me Riddhima….Please", he pleaded as he couldn't handle her silence anymore. "Give me back mine Armaan, if you want yours back..", she finally replied, looking up at him and blushing a little. Armaan's heart beamed in joy as he understood what those words meant, as it realized that he now had a companion in him as well. "I love you…", he finally said cuping her face as she shed silent happy tears…."I love you so much!", he repeated leaning his forehead on hers. "I love you so much Riddhima. I don't know how or when it happened, but the moment it did, you shot across my dark sky as an everlasting star. I don't know how this is going to work out, but I don't care, cause I want this, I want it all Riddhima. I want to start my every morning with you. I want to fight with you over coffee in the morning. I want to drop you off at work and hold you back because I won't be able to let you away from me every morning. I want to come to this camp every year with you. I want to live an entire lifetime with you and hope to do so many things….because I know no measure of time will be enough with you….I don't know how or why I want all of these things all of a sudden. And I don't know what you want, but I can't live without you….I can't let you go", and she cut him off by putting her hand on his lips. "Armaan! I can't let you go either. I want these things too….I want each and every thing you mentioned and more. I want this unexpected meeting of ours to turn into something that will last forever." She said while hugging him back. Just then, her phone rang and her friend told her they were ready to leave. She looked at him with panic filled eyes, but he just smiled a little at her and texted someone while she just continued to look at him. "Riddhima…I don't know if this is too soon or if it will freak you out or anything…..but I hope you'll be okay with it", he said while grabbing her hand and moved further up the hill. "Where are we going Armaan? What are you-". "Shsh!", he hushed her, and took her to the highest apex of the hill that arched upon the beautiful town. He closed her eyes with his hands and stood behind her, ignoring her protests and looked into the sky. When he saw what he wanted, he let go of her eyes, and whispered in her ear, "You can open your eyes now, Riddhima", his breath tickling her ear. Riddhima slowly opened her eyes and as baffled at what she saw in front of her. She saw a jet plane write above in the blue sky, 'I love you Riddhima, Will you be mine forever?', it read and another a bunch of heart shaped balloons from written from the jet as it flew away. She just stood there, dumbstruck as tears formed in her eyes. He grinned as he turned her around and looked into her eyes, this time understanding exactly what she wanted. "Yes", she whispered as he whiped a tear from her eye. "How did you..", she started to ask but he cut her off…."We have all of forever for these questions…" he reminded her as he stared into her beautiful eyes. "I love you Riddhima", he said while she caressed his face. He looked into her eyes once more and placed his lips on hers, kissing her with all the love, vowing to love her forever as she returned her vows. They pulled out and hugged each other as they looked at the balloons float into the sky, probably to into the skies and heavens, which was probably like what their world echoed at this moment.

And as the heavens looked upon the union of two souls, destiny smirked loudly. It was proud of how it had its way of getting people together. Riddhima and Armaan might have missed their bus to go to Nanital and might have felt completely annoyed at the moment, but that loss bought out a beautiful gain. So as they say, keep up the hope. Life is unexpected and unpredictable, you never know when and how something horrible and annoying could get you something as beautiful as the heavens itself. To everyone out there, cheer up this Valentine's day and keep your hope up, cause you never know when and how love can find you.
