Sangeeta Ghosh> Right now I am concentrating on my new serial ' Virasaat' which starts tonight. I shall take up any other projects only after 2-3 months.

Kiddiizee> What is the secret behind your beautiful, long hair. Is it because you're a Bengali or is there some hidden secret?
Sangeeta Ghosh> Unfortunately I don't have long hair any more. I have cut them. But they are healthy and one of reasons could be because I eat a lot of fish.

Smarty> How you maintain your fitness?
Sangeeta Ghosh> I don't follow a work out routine rather I eat everything in moderation. But I am planning to start exercising soon.

Kiddiizee> Any plans to do a Bollywood flick in the near future, if yes then which kind?

Kiddiizee> Do you identify with any of your onscreen characters? Which one and why?
Sangeeta Ghosh> Not with a particular character but a lot of times with situations because the characters are work of fiction and I am not.

Sonia> Which is your favourite food?
Sangeeta Ghosh> Home cooked food, especially anything which has fish in it.

Kiddiizee> Do you think an actor's popularity is limited to his or her last appearance on TV?
Sangeeta Ghosh> For few it is true but those who really do good work, they are remembered for a long time. But yes I believe it's important to be seen on TV or films or paper to maintain your popularity.

Kshitij> Tell us something about your personal life along with your date of birth and hobbies.
Sangeeta Ghosh> I was born on the 18th of August. I love to dance, listen to music, watch movies and TV, read, travel and eat and laugh a lot.

Sangeeta Ghosh> I am a trained Bharatnatyam dancer which helped me adapt to other forms of dancing and it is a natural art in me.

"Anchoring Nach Baliye was stressful. I didn't like seeing my colleagues (all the contestants) being eliminated from the show; felt bad for almost everybody"

Meeta > Why did you turn to anchoring?
Sangita Ghosh > Anchoring was something new that was offered to me. The concept was very good. So, I thought, why not? Also, (the celeb dance competition show) Nach Baliye needed me to perform a dance every week.

Gigs > Which role do you prefer- 'Pammi' of Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand or the one in the serial Rabba Ishq Na Hove ? Which one of these has a special significance for you and why?
Sangita Ghosh > For now, it has to be Rabba Ishq Na Hove ; it's closer to me. 'Pammi' gave me popularity, love and fame that in turn materialised into Rabba Ishq Na Hove . So, both are very important to me. In fact, whenever we do a new project, every role is very significant. Otherwise, we don't take it up.

Suman > Which one do you prefer – anchoring or acting and why?
Sangita Ghosh > I love acting! Anchoring is something that I have taken up now. Also, it was for a short period. It gave me a chance to not act. I can just relax and interact; of course we do follow a script here too. Anchoring was for fun but acting is what I am more tuned to. I enjoy it! In anchoring I did feel too much of stress. I didn't like seeing my colleagues (all the contestants) going out of the show. I felt bad for almost everybody. I could feel the emotions of all those actors.

Aparna > Are you seeing anyone? What sort of life partner would you want in your life?
Sangita Ghosh > I am not seeing anyone right now. And haven't really thought about the sort of life partner I want so that I don't face disappointment. I just leave it to fate. Who so ever, at that point of time I find perfect, will be for me.

Manov > Hi Sangita ji , you are very pretty and I like your acting a lot. Who is your favourite costar and why?
Sangita Ghosh > Thank you! Favourite co-star right now - people have liked me with Varun Badola a lot. Actually, I like working with Arunja ji . She has played my mom in all the shows that I have done.

Abc_123 > How did you get into this line?
Sangita Ghosh > It was when I was a kid. I started with a serial on Doordarshan -- Hum HIndustani . I was playing a little Punjabi girl, who was inclined to dancing. In fact, because of that serial, I took up dancing! I trained formally in Bharat Natyam . And after that, things just happened. While in college, I kept taking offers to act; once in this line one meets people, networks and builds contacts.

Buddy > What would you have been if not an actress?
Sangita Ghosh > I don't even want to think about that! I am very happy with the profession I have chosen to be in. But, if not an actress, I would have joined any field related to some kind of art form; may be a dancer......

Buddy > Have you got any offers for films and are you interested in doing them (films)?
Sangita Ghosh > I am interested in doing films. The offers that I have got are not exciting enough. Honestly, I would not want to do something that will make me regret. I do get offers for lead roles but a lot of times I feel the parts I am playing on TV are better. My TV work keeps me occupied. I am not the sort of person who works for 24 hours a day! I work for about 12 hrs and I don't work every day. If I am working for three to four days at a stretch, I take a break. I want to enjoy my work.

Aparna > Where are you from and when did you come to Bombay?
Sangita Ghosh > I am from Mumbai - born and brought up, and always lived here. I belong to this city. I have my relatives in Kolkata. Here in Mumbai, I live with my parents and a younger brother.

Abhi > What sort of roles would you like to do?
Sangita Ghosh > I don't have a dream role, but definitely ones that will interest me; those that will not show me to be dumb or stupid. I would like to do something, which people would also enjoy watching, as I would enjoy doing it. Want to do roles that make sense. Next year, there's going to be a new serial of mine. The name of my character in it is 'Priyanka', a strong willed person who knows how to get things done.

Manu > Are you going to do anymore anchoring? And are you Aruna Irani's favourite?
Sangita Ghosh > I hope I am her favourite! Who does not want to be, she is such a lovely. And she too likes me a lot. Anchoring - it depends on the concept entirely. I would want more activities in it. Whatever I do, it should be something that interests viewers, something that I would watch. I don't want to do analysis kinda shows; for me, anchoring has to be a lot of fun! That's the sort of show that I myself would want to watch.

Sangita Ghosh
TV actress

"I cry a lot on TV but in real life I am an ever-smiling, happy person"

Amit > Hi, this is Amit. You have a wonderful figure. What do you do to maintain it?
Sangita Ghosh > Amit, you wouldn't believe it. I eat a lot. I do (practice) dance but I wish I had the time to go to the gym .

Prince2k> These days lots of actresses are trying to look sexy? What do you think about this? Do you also like to look sexy? What do you feel when someone calls you sexy?
Sangita Ghosh > I love it when people call me sexy. I don't make an extra effort (to look sexy) though - it is your attitude. If you feel hot and sensual then every body else (around) will also feel the heat.

Yusuf > Do you think it's becoming a trend that people join TV industry and then go on to do movies?
Sangita Ghosh > Not many people have been doing that. Though there have been few who have made it. I will say that TV is being used to make quick name and money. A lot of people don't deserve to be there. It's really sad that the deserving ones (actors) are actually deprived of the opportunity (to act in teleserials). I don't think it's true about this being a trend. I think TV offers wider range of roles and characters for a performer.

Divine.spirit > Dear Sangita, you are one of the prettiest face on TV> How come we have not seen you in films? You don't have a good agent or is it that you are just not interested in Bollywood?
Sangita Ghosh > I don't have an agent at all. You have hit at the right point.

Emraan > Tell me something about your experience of working with Aruna (Irani)Kohli.
Sangita Ghosh > She is a powerhouse absolutely, full of energy and passion. Whatever I say about her will be little. I can go on and on about her.

Prince2k > Which qualities in guys attracts you the most? Please tell me honestly.
Sangita Ghosh > Sense of humour, looks and I get attracted to people who are talented and are very passionate about their work.

Prince2k > Which type of roles do you wanna play? Do you like negative roles or the ones with grey shades?
Sangita Ghosh > I like roles with grey shades. This is a tough question to answer because being an actress I would want to do as many different roles as possible.

Amit_4u > Hi, this is Amit again. I don't watch serials but whenever I see you on TV I just stop and watch it. I feel you are the best actress, who not only looks great but also performs well. I feel you should give films a try as you can also dance well. What do you say?
Sangita Ghosh > I would definitely consider what you are saying. I can't let a fan like you down. Thank you very much. It's very sweet of you!

Emraan > Tell me how are you different or similar to Muskan because that is your role of a lifetime role? You have received lots of appreciation and recognition because of it.
Sangita Ghosh > Thanks a lot! Muskan has been one of my favourite characters. She was very strong headed just as I am, but definitely I feel she was greater than me.

Divine.spirit > According to you, who is sexier – Shah Rukh or Salmaan? Please answer without sounding diplomatic!
Sangita Ghosh > I vote for Shah Rukh! He is definitely the sexier one. I love his smile. And the twinkle in his) eyes when he smiles.

Emraan > Have you taken some special training for dance? Asking this because of your rocking in Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand ?
Sangita Ghosh > I am a trained Bharatnatyam dancer.

Nida > Have you signed up with any movie directors?
Sangita Ghosh > No, I have not. I wish to do it in the new year. Please wish me luck.

Prince2k > I have seen you many times on TV at award functions. You are always smiling? Is it your real nature? How many friends do you have?
Sangita Ghosh > I cry a lot on TV but actually in real I am always laughing and smiling. I don't make friends very easily, but when I do make them, it is for lifetime. I have quite a few friends.

Emraan > Tell me any actor with whom you are comfortable working with?
Sangita Ghosh > There are lots but I am very comfortable with Varun Badola who played Dev in Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand .

Prince2k > How do you react when people call you Pammy (your screen character)on the streets?
Sangita Ghosh > I like it definitely.

Prince2k > What do you wanna say about the pictures of Kareena and Shahid (kissing in their private moments) being shown on TV these days?
Sangita Ghosh > I would say people should not have fun at somebody else's expense.

Humza > What would be your ideal role where you'll be able to give your best ever?
Sangita Ghosh > The most difficult role would be to play myself actually. But I would love to do it.

Emraan > Ok, tell me, is it script that you made comeback in Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand or that Mrs Kohli (producer) was missing you, so she called you back?
Sangita Ghosh > Mrs Kohli (Aruna Irani) is not producing the serial any more. It was definetly the script and the sentiments attached to the show that made me come back.

Bob > Have you been seen in music video?
Sangita Ghosh > I have done a music video but it was two years ago. It was a Bhangra pop singer was from Canada and it was called Thumka .

Sign Off Message > Thank you. It was lovely chatting with all of you here. Hope to do it again in the future. A very happy new year to all of you out there! Love, Sangita.
