hii, i hope u won't mind, but this analysis is wrong !!😳 if u read shrimad valmiki's ramayan or even shri tulsidas's ramcharitmanas, ram ji never forced sita ji into agni pariksha.

in fact in valmiki's ramayan, ram ji merely denounced sita ma, not because he really had any doubt in her (they r lakshmi and vishnu after all, so how could they ever doubt each other !!) but to show proof to the world that a woman CAN be pure even while living in another man's house for over 10 months. he never asked sita ji to jump into fire, sita ma herself did agni pariksha to herself, because she wanted to proove to the world her purity, that a woman must have the patience and virtue even when she's away from her husband, and not give in to desires of other men !

sita ma herself ordered lakshman ji to make fire, and then the fire god came and gave testimony to her purity!

in ramcharitmanas, there is a totally different story ! before ravan kidnapped sita ma, ram ji entrusted her to the safety of the fire God and brought chhaya sita (illusionary sita) in her place ! ravan kidnapped the illusionary sita, because sita ma as Ma Lakshmi is the form of shakti herself, and ravan's hands would have gotten burnt had he touched her!

after ram ji killed ravan, he asked agni dev to return his real sita ma to him, so what seemed like an agni pariskha was only fake so that real sita ma could return to ram ji!

plss don't vilify ram ji in this post !! many people misunderstand him and forget that he was incarnation of bhagwaan vishnu himself !😒 lakshmi and vishnu can never doubt each other in any incarnation, and agni pariksha as well as sita ma's vanvaas in uttarkand were all just leelas of the Lord to teach us maryada, he was maryada purushotham after all!

hi ashna dii, soo happiiee to see ur post !! im so hurt by all the comments against ram ji in this post, i never expected this from IPKKND forum !😭😭😭 i never knew there were so many people who misunderstand ram ji's avatar and the relationship of ram ji and sita ma ! how can they say he doubted her and had no faith in her ??

sita ma did not leave ayodhya because she was sick of ram ji's doubting her, she left because she wanted to uphold ram ji's honor and that society never calls him a bad King. ram ji and sita ma never had any doubts on each other !! they both always did things for each others' wellbeing and happiness.

plsss folks, don't make posts against ram ji !! i see this in many forums but i luv IPKKND forum so much that i don't want to see such posts here ! as ram ji is very close to my heart, he's my Isht dev so im deeply aggrieved to see such posts !😭

i don't know if this is allowed in the forum, but as this is about ramayan i am posting this here for all those who r not fully away of the full story of sita ji's agnipariksha !!

the sagars' ramayan serials, old and new, both showed different versions of sita's agnipariksha, but they showed it very accurately as per the real stories so i am posting links of the videos since the actual books r not available to me right now.

the new one, with gurmeet and debin choudhary, showed sita ma's agni pariksha as per valmiki's ramayan, except as a more condensed story since the serial cannot drag it and valmiki's agni pariksha story is very very long and detailed, but this is basically what happened !!

sita ji gave herself agni pariksha, ram ji never forced her into it or even ordered her !

the old ramayan on the other hand showed ramcharitmanas agni pariksha, with chhaya sita replacing sita ma !! both r very acceptable and popular versions of sita ma's agni pariksha, and neither of them has villified ram ji and shown him in such a bad or doubting manner.😭

hey there
no one meant to insult ram ji. i worship him too. like you i have grown up watching ramamanand sagars epics (ramayana, mahabharat and shri krishna)
like you we have grown up listening to mythological stories and learning prayers..
so lets not bring belief into it.
we are only drawing parallels to this story with ramayana.
we know ram didnt suspect sita. but he didnt defend her either and thats why sita was hurt enough to go and prove her purity with agnee pareeksha and thats why she left ram ji.

no one is bashing up the Almighty here. who are we to do that?
we were treating ramayana as a story.thats all...dont take it personally..faith is something very subjective..some choose to respect god and believe that He can do no wrong..some choose to accept god as he was(is)..(and ram was the human incarnate thats why he had to go through sufferings like everyone else) and still worship Him.:)
i hopw you got my point honey. nice to see your devotion ...not very common these days. didnt mean to offend you btw!

hii dii, thanx for ur response !!😳
i agree that faith is a subjective thing, but also i believe that we shouldn't draw parallels between fiction and religious stories that hurt religious sentiments, because ramayana was not just a story. its a religious scripture and to read maryada purushotham ram ji as a faulty human character is hurtful! also to compare him to a fictional character is not right, as the reasons ram ji did his leelas is different from why arnav might suspect khushi or not, hope u understand.😳 the purpose of ram ji's avatar was for lok kalyaan, the betterment of the world, so though his actions might not be things we r used to, we can't question them.
ram ji did not defend sita ma because she did not need any defending ! after all, she is ma shakti herself, she defends and protects everyone in the world so why would she ever need defending?😳 actually, i think everyone tends to forget that ram ji and sita ma were not different entities, but they r the one and same! they both wanted to teach the same thing to humans, and sita ma left ayodhya in mutual decision with ramji. their leelas were already planned before they took birth as ram ji and sita ji, and sita ji's exile and agni pariksha was already written by lakshmi and vishnu before they took incarnation as ram and sita. sita ma cannot ever bear to hear her husband being criticized by society, and this is the reason why she accepted her vanvaas with good will ! if ram ji is criticized by us, the first person who is deeply hurt is sita ma herself!
thanx for understanding dii, im glad to find some fans of my ram ji in this forum.😳

Chill guys - this was never meant to be a debate on the Ramayan. Its a literary introspective. AND a matter of opinion. I never intended to offend anyone's sentiments by saying Ram was wrong. I am a person of faith...however the same god has given me a mind of my own to analyse and think for myself.

That analytical part of me says;

NO matter what Ram's reasoning was - he failed her as a husband. He may never have asked her to step into the fire. But he didnt stop her. She had a child on her own in an ashram - he wasnt there for her when she needed him. Be as she may - Ma Shakti, as a woman and as a wife you expect your husband to be with you in the same way you were with him. When Ram went on excile she followed him. But when she took on the self imposed excile - i would have liked to see Ram follow her.

When a story -be it fact or fiction is presented to us int he form of a book (in this case, Valmiki's Ramayan), as a reader i reserve the right to analyse it and and accept it in a way i choose to. You are more than welcome to disagree with me - but please do not take offense nor say that i am instigating any form of wrong message.

This debate over Ram's treatment towards Sita is actually a very old one. People have different opinions - and no conclusion has emerged so far.

So let's leave it at that - remember its an opinion. Thats all.

Sita's life is known to be filled with a lot pain and suffering even though she was innocent. To put it in very very basic terms.

When I was in school ( long back.. :) I heard that people in Nepal ( Sita was from nepal) do not marry their girls to boys in Ayodhya as sita had to go thru so much suffering ...
