"Bhai these bangles...thank you."Jiger gave Ahem a small smile that did not reach his eyes, it must be Bhabi's idea." Ahem a bit uncomfortable shook his head "err actually its mine." "Yours Bhai" Jiger exclaimed surprised. "You are trying to patch things between Raashi and me but I thought" and he trailed of as an announcement by the dj interrupted them "and now ladies and gentlemen we are going to open the dance floor. I would like to call Raashi and Jiger Modi to start us off with this beautiful no and please all of you young couples join em. I believe Raashi's sister Gopi and Jiger brother Ahem are here please join us."
"Jiger why don't you go ahead you are the couple of the moment I will join you later" said Ahem as his eyes sought and found Gopi in the farside of the room. He walked over to her taking in her beautiful appearance that was marred by the pensive expression on her face.
Gopi was mortified by the idea of dancing in the arms of her husband in front of all these people and her elders and that too a dance she did not understand. Gopi winced inward at the picture Oh dear khannaji I don't want to embarrass Ahemji and my family.
"Ahem Gopi go join them" said Hetal as she slowly put a guiding hand behind them. Ahem seeing Gopi so terrified and understanding her uneasiness just said" its ok Kakiji Gopi is still not out of plaster and her feet will not be up to this." Gopi was relieved to hear this and looked up at Ahem with a greatful smile and he acknowledged her with a slight smile and nod.
Kokila had had enough she walked away missing the exchange between her son and vahu. Her initial disappointment at not receiving the bangles were only compounded by the knowledge that they were for Raashi and what was worse was that, Ahem was trying to patch up Raashi and Jiger. All this while he refused to see his own shamble of a marriage. He even refused to dance with Gopi while Jiger despite being hurt by Raashi was making an effort not to humiliate her publicly. Che she said to herself and this time it was directed at herself, was she not the proud mother of Ahem Modi.
"Kokila how about a dance for old times' sake" She just gave her husband a sad look and left the hall she could not bring herself to refuse him and yet she could not oblige. Parag was stunned he had never seen her so digected she seemed to have lost the will to fight and his Kokila was a fighter.
" Parag Bhai can you please call Jiger ki papa and see if he is done with his meeting." Distracted Parag moved away "Ji Mota bhabi."
Ahem and Gopi stood side by side as the other couples joined Jiger and Raashi. They watched as the two uncomfortably readied themselves to put on a show each lost in their own reasons. Raashi was nervously anticipated this welcome compulsion of dancing in the arms of her Jigerji, while Jiger swallowed his detest at being in such proximity with Raashi to indulge the audience. As the slow strains of the music began the couples started to sway Gopi looked at them in awe her eyes on her Devar and bhen they made a lovely couple and hopefully this would be the chance they needed to make things right. Ahem looked down at his pretty wife. She looked dainty, his heart swelled with a feeling so warm he found hard to suppress. Just then, he caught sight of the waiter his attention on the dance floor walking directly in Gopi's direction a protective arm automatically flew out to pull her toward him.
Mesmerised as she was in thoughts of her sister Gopi failed to see the impending accident and was jolted out of the reverie with the feel of Ahem's hand on her arm. She looked at him just as the words of the familier tune engulfed the speakers...

The sweet lull of the tune drew her into its coziness, the words called out to her it was her dream her love story, she gazed up at the man that was the centre of that dream and saw the gentleness with which he returned her gaze. They lost themselves in that moment. The song called out to both of them and they were captivated by the soulful sounds of the words that found meaning in their hearts, words they were unable to voice to each other. Ahem and Gopi were lost in each other totally unaware of where they were and who they were with, forgotten were Raashi and Jiger, the rest of their family the crowd that had gathered. While everyone was focused on the couples dancing, Ahem had eyes only for his Gopi; Caught up in a dance of his own, pouring his heart out and she was drinking it all in. Their normal awkwardness forgotten for the first time they were in sync moving to the rhythm yet standing motionless.
His palm at her elbow had slid down her forearm unbeknown to either of them, slowly twining their fingers together and clasping together firmly as if holding on to what was most precious.

The lyrics sang their unsaid love from their silent lips. Warm hands claspsed, eyes locked as those precious moments came to an end.
The song faded out into the the loud applause that echoed around them abruptly pulling them out of the warmth of their new found nest; at once the daily masks went back on both aware of what they had just exchanged and yet not ready to admit.
"I will get myself a glass of water, would you like one?" Gopi shook her head saying no.
As Ahem headed toward the bar he saw his mother standing outside and went over to join her.
"Mom what are you doing here. Is the music too loud? Would you like me to take you home? May be baa is ready to leave.."
"Don't worry yourself about it Ahem I will see myself home sensing her abrupt tone Ahem's head shot up as he looked closely at his mom. Her colour was drained and there was something missing in her eyes."
"Mom" he reached out "Are you ok?"
Kokila flinched "you are really something Ahem Modi!" "Mom you are angry Have I done something wrong? Mom please...Kokila put her hand up to stop him
"Ahem do you really not understand or do you not want to understand?"
