Lets start with Arnav Singh Raizada the perfect combination of rough but gentle, harsh but tender - the personification of tough love and what all consuming, powerful love it is!
First he seizes her wrist, his anger dictating his rash behaviour - "why did she thoughtlessly put them on if she KNEW they were small?" - "So close to her vein, how can she be so stupid?" - He misses her hissing in pain because he is so focused on the wound that is dangerously close to her vein.
Then starts the power struggle, she yanks her wrist bag - he automatically takes hold of it again - she attempts to pull it back he holds on tighter and his grip becomes stronger. His stern, demanding voice giving away his need to take control and see that the wound is dealt with, that it doesn't become worse, that she becomes safe and ok again! "Khushi. ... Khushi mujhe dehkne do" - I love the way he glares at her, protecting her from herself but who can blame her resistance? Already in pain, his rough handling of her wrist, his angry eyes and even angrier voice, how can she not be hesitant? But then she reluctantly eases off.
The comes the turning point in this scene!š
Anger still soaring through him, Arnav coarsely dabs the wound with his handkerchief, so roughly that Khushi hisses in pain louder and jolts her wrist BUT this time he picks up on it! Honestly watch that scene again Barun is phenomenalš - the moment Arnav registers his harsh, strong conduct is causing her more pain rather then soothing it - he looks down regretfully and immediately starts dabbing the wound more gently and carefully - and Khushi picks up on this instantly and looks up at him - slightly baffled, confused and surprised. No more does she feel the physical pain as she begins to deeply observe him - Que Rabba Ve - He nurses her wound and she realises the extent of how much he cares, he's so focused on it.
Yet even though so focused, he doesn't miss the way she scrunches up her eyes in anticipation - removal of the shard - (so much has been said about this, what else can I sayš) - he effortlessly removes it whilst she is oblivious so much so he prods with "Ho gaya." and she realises and then ..
We've all said it countless times before but it's true - Arnav and Khushi really do talk more through their actions and their eyes rather then words.
He magically conjures up the bandage an begins to wrap it around her wrist - again his eyes travel to her face to examine if she's in pain or not but then she meets his eyes with her lost, searching ones - and that eye lock - exchange between them said SO much! It was brilliant!
I love his speaking eyes, communicating everything he can't bring himself to say - as if he is saying "Yes, I can be harsh, mean and rude but see, I can be gentle and tender to - my blunt rough ways may cause you pain - but when you are in pain, I will take care of you." - Khushi is the first to look away but when all is unsaid and done - you can tell that Khushi's initial defiance and denial has been weakened - her lost in-a-dilemma state of mind it a little exposed. I adore the way she observes him as he sits back in the SUV and puts on his seat belt - he'd managed to chip a bit of wall she'd placed around herself.

Part two of the drive back and I love the ping pong of stolen glances that occurs between the two - watch the scene again notice how she looks at him but looks away when turns the corner of his eyes towards her. One more stolen glance from her but she looks away before he quickly steals a look at her. Its evident - both want to break the ice - say something but it's again their stubbornness and question of who first?š¤£
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
AWKWARD ArHi! Can I just say how much I love awkward ArHi - it happens rarely when they're both not either having a Rabba Ve moment or close to biting each others heads off in another heated argument!š
I love the way he starts to speak. Stops. Gulps and then asks the "trigger words" - "Tum theek ho?" she musters up a smile and attempts to conjure words, suddenly its become hard for her š BUT NK enters, adds his comedy, points out the bag, flares up the flames of jealousy in Arnav annoying himš - when he leaves again the awkwardness returns and his hesitation is so adorable whether to give now or not but before he can decide Khushi is quick to run off.
Quintessential Khushi, delighted by the bangles and putting them on but the best part of that moment is the smile she brings on Arnav's face. It gets even better though when she see's him in the mirror - symbolically a mirror - reflection of what they want deep down inside - each other. When she see's him, I love that he doesn't scurry off instead he glances at her once more and silently disappears.
Then the overwhelming realisation hits her - see Arnav, shaking her, cupping her face isn't the key, bangles and gifts are!𤣠Kidding - I think poor Khushi has had enough to deal with in one day, playful Arnav, possessive and protective Arnav, kissing Arnav, being held by him as if his life depended on it[IT DID!], gently being treated by him an now gifts?!? Khushi has been through a lot today!š
Awww š Arnav's concerned voice, worry drenching from it - how could Khushi not hear that but I love the meaningful and the lighter sides of this scene too.
It's so telling Khushi's first words are "hosh" - as if to say a real awakening has taken place - Arnav is slowly awakening that side of her she opened in Diwali which he cruelly mistreated and almost lost forever!
Or maybe "hosh" as in - Arnav's behaviour is playing with her senses, messing with her mind even more "Khushi ki hosh churliya Arnav ne"š¤£
Then she opens her eyes and the first person she fittingly see's is him. She doesn't acknowledge the other people worryingly (barr Mami) crowded around her bed, her eyes rightfully settle on Arnavš
Straight down to business, Khushi needs answers, she does not care about the others she directly asks him yet a little hesitant herself "Woh ... churiya aapne?" .. Arnav is too funny here𤣠that look of *Khushi-there-are-people-about*š
Yet when Mami seizes the opportunity to make idiotic comments about Khushi - neither of them care - her eyes are still fixed on him and his first words to her are "Tum theek ho na?" š
Anjali said "Yes boss." - how fitting is that though - even when taking care of her the ASR in him demands and orders others, he is so business like and pragmatic about it - NK do this, di please do that -- but when it comes to Khushi he instantly becomes tender.
"Hum theek hain Arnav ji. ... Hum kehre hain na, humme koi doctor ki zaroorat nahin, hum theek hain" - I love how she repeats it, reinforces it but with so much concern like she's finally understood how much HE REALLY DOES CARE and WORRY about her - like she's finally got a hint of the terror he felt when he thought she was hurt in the accident!ā¤ļø
When she thinks they've all left, again she questions him, she's so desperate to know, hear his words "bhaattaye na?" - but Arnav wisely reminds her that Payal is still there - and walks off.
Leaving Khushi suffering for answers but also igniting her irritation! Precaps say she'll make him pay tomorrow!š
Finally? What can I say? "HORRAH" to more taunting![Credit to Shybabe] for some of the pictures!
