This OS is based on the story "A Night Train at Deoli" by Ruskin Bond
OS- Woh Kaun Thi?
The environment at Khurana Construtions was tensed and very awful. Maan Singh Khurana was going on his regular leave every month on the first 5 days and as usual...he was at his negative high. Sasha, his PA was sniffing in one corner and wiping her tears...thanks to the bashing received by Mk(as she fondly called MSK). Adi was happy seeing the proudy lady crying. He and Pinky had a gala time seeing the haughty.
Pinky: Adi sir...this Sasha Ma'am na...she deserves it!
Adi: right pinky...but I wonder ki sir aaj itne gusse mein kyun hai?
Pinky: Adi sir...aapko nahi pata... sir har mahine shuruat ke 5 din apni daadi ke saath mussorie mein rehte hai'aur waise hi aaj raat ko unki train flight hai...Roorki tak...aur phir by train to Dehradun jayenge...
Adi: ohh ya'I know that'par usmein gussa kyun karna?
Pinky: maine sasha ma'am ko kehte suna tha ki kal ki meeting sasha ne postpone nahi ki...jabki unke liye unki daadi se important kuch bhi nahi hai...
Adi: ohh'to yeh baat hai pinky!
Pinky(munches a chip): haan Adi sir...aap lenge?
She offers the chips. Suddenly...the environment goes numb. There is pin-drop silence in the office lobby. Pinky and Adi look around and see Mk standing with his hands crossed on his chest.
Maan: aaj tak mere kaam mein itni laaparwahi nahi hui'jitni aaj hui' (seeing Pinky munching) kuch log toh yahaan sirf charne(graze) karne aate hai'am I right ms. Pinky?
Adi tucked Pinky to stop munching: sorry sir.
Maan: Ms. Sasha' is this some daily soap drama going on here?
Sasha: sorry sir!
Maan: I want all my meeting cancelled till 6th February'you all get it?
Adi: right sir.
Saying this...Maan Singh Khurana dashes out. The office staff released their held breath. Staff in chorus: phew... achcha hua...paanch din ke liye I can come to the office without fear of any bashing.

Maan was packing his luggage. While packing...he came across his dadi's photo. I am coming daadima... phir hum saath mein waqt guzarenge...!
He took a simple black back-pack with him. He didn't wanted to show himself as MSK in front of his dadi...he just wanted to be Dablu(yeah...that's what dadima called Maan fondlyđ) to dadima... he might be MSK for KC staff...but for her...he was the same Dablu...who slept hearing stories of goons and heroes from dadima and on his lap.
Nakul stopped him on his way: sir...can I help you with the luggage...?
Maan: its ok nakul...
Nakul: sir...dadima ko mera Namaste kahiyega...aur yeh bhi ki hum unko bahot yaad karte hai!
Maan placed his hands on Nakul's shoulder...gave a meek smile and went away!
At the Airport,
Maan was waiting for his flight. There was a curiousness in him to reach Dehradun soon...he didn't understand why...but he could feel butterflies in his stomach at the thought of Dehradun.
Maan: mujhe aisa kyun lag raha hai ki mera koi intezaar kar raha hai...koi mujhse milna chahta hai? Dadima toh mera mussorie mein mera intezaar kar rahi hongi...lekin phir yeh bechaini kyun...?
He looked around conscious as if everyone was staring at him only. He chuckled to himself: yeh kya MSK... you are talking to yourself! Whats wrong with you?
The flight announcement was made and Maan boarded the flight
At Roorkee:
Maan came out in the sunlight and took out his goggles in search for a taxi. There was a scorching feeling in his body but it seemed to vanish with the little breeze which was blowing. He took the taxi to railway station and then boarded the train.
At Dehradun Station.
Maan came out from the door and looked around. Suddenly, the breeze felt numb and the environment silenced around. He looked around and felt that all the sounds and vision was blurred around him. On moving his eyes around...his eyes fixed on an object which was clear as glass. He looked clearly. That object was inanimate living figure. It was clad in a coarse grey woolen blanket with yellowish stripes. The cold winds made the person shiver. Suddenly, for a moment the blanket fell off her head and her cascade of brown curls flew out in the direction of the wind. The backpack fell off Maan's shoulders and he struggled to hold his falling goggles. That girl chuckled softly as her lips shivered. Maan unknowingly started moving towards her. She clutched her shawl in fear of something and hesitated. Maan moved his eyes down. She wore simple chappals in her feet and the fingers had turned blue in cold. Maan quickly took out his woolen jacket and offered it to the girl. She hesitated.
Maan: le lo..warna bimaar pad jaogi!
There was magic in his voice. The girl's eyes gleamed and she snatched away the jacket and draped around her.
Geet: shukriya sa'ab!
Maan: tum itni thand mein yahaan kya kar rahi ho?
Geet: sa'ab wo main yahaan pe chai le ke aati hoon... aaj mere bapu ne mujhe bola ki sab paisa wasool kar ke aao...wahi lene aayi thi.
Maan: ohh' tumhara naam kya hai?
Geet: ji...?
Maan: ghabrao mat'main to aise hi pooch raha tha!
Geet: Geet (she whispered)
There was mesmerization in that name. Maan' heart skipped a beat as she spoke that name.
Maan repeated the word: Geet...nice name?
Geet: kuch kaha sa'ab?
Maan: nahi kuch nahi... tumse mil ke khushi hui...
Geet smiled softly and went and disappeared in the fog that had set in suddenly. Maan smiled and walked off.
While he was in his car to Mussorie, he kept thinking of Geet. There was a certain attraction in her... which had made Maan's heart think of her so much.
Maan: tum kaun ho? Tumse mera kya rishta hai? Kya hum ek dusre ke kuch lagte hai...?
Heya dearies...this was Part 1 of my OS...do tell me If I should continue... I will be waiting for your replies...
