What is Eternal Truth?

Hey guys,

I am Prach, and I am kind of new to the Debate Mansion ( not IF )! I love to debate!! So my question is, what is an eternal truth? What is an example of eternal truth? Is their actually any eternal truth?

I am a IB student, and have a Theory of Knowledge class, where this question was brought up and we had a LONG debate. lol.
So I expect a debate here!

Everything was created by someone somehow at some point in time. So, nothing is eternal - including the word which was invented by humans.

People who talk about life and death need to understand the concept of history first and then learn it. Life and death came into picture with the existence of species. There was something before that too.. Oh the myopic views.

Eternal truth is unknown.

But yeah, we all have our own version of so called "eternal truth" which we claim to be universal.

Existence of some creatures spreading propaganda driven monolithic message of religious hatred clumsily covered in intricate and convoluted wrapper to sound intelligent.. and then falling on their faces! Now, that, though not eternal, but is pretty damn continuous since the beginning if the mankind.

If God. says so, then "Edit" must be the eternal truth as edited by God. on January 27^th at 2:23 PM US CST.

Would the eternal truth still be 'eternal' if God. edits again later, multiple times? Anyway until then 'Edit' is the eternal truth for those who believe in God. and perhaps 'eternal' truth is not 'eternal' truth because it is not finite, but simply because God. said so.

On a deeper level is .God different from God. or just God ? I wonder what .God has to say.

Everything is a Lie.
All that we see, touch, hear etc is not the Truth.

Everything? Nah, that would mean that even what you said is a lie 😆

In a physical world, what we see, touch, hear stands as a truth, at least in the dimension that we live in. If you are referring to non-physical world, higher dimension, then its a different case and truth there would be different.

I would agree to that point, but how would you define the physical world and non-physical world? Or in other words, what is the exact difference between this two?
If everything is in fact actually a lie, you can say everything is the truth too! Because where there is lie, there the truth!
And if some things are the truth, as you point out, what would those be?

That was Interesting, and funny!

There is a very significant point there. Do you believe, that once things change, they are not the 'truth' anymore? And as you make it sound, do you strongly believe in God to such extent, that you would believe in that you would call him the truth without having able to prove his existence?

PS : Post Not Meant To Offend You Against Religion, Culture or Anything That Might Hurt Your Self-Esteem. Just A Mere Question.
