'Kolaveri D' Dhanush set for Bollywood Debut

Kolaveri D' has been a national anthem of the youth. The main protagonist of the song Dhanush who has become a hot favorite among all is all set for Bollywood debut. He has signed film of director Aanand L Rai's of 'Tanu Weds Manu' fame.

Tamil star Dhanush is a hit star of the south. He feels thrilled to make Bolywood debut so early.

"It's a big deal to get a launch like this at the beginning of my career here. Aanand's script is different from regular cinema; it's one of those 'made to make a difference' kind of films," Dhanush said in a statement.

28 year old Dhanush won the National Film Award for his role in Aadukalam. He became a household name with Kolaveri Di from his Tamil film 3.

"For the past six months, I've been looking for a simple boy to play the lead in Raanjhnaa. My requirement was a man who could look vulnerable on screen. When I saw Dhanush in the Tamil film Aadukalam, I liked him immediately. He looks very ordinary and honest, and that was the demand of the character," Rai said.

Talking about the film's storyline, the director said, "The film is an intense love story. Just like my film Tanu Weds Manu, the film and its characters will take you to Delhi, Punjab, Chennai."

It is also heard that Anand approached Dhanush before 'Kolveri D' became a huge success. Rajinikanth's son-in-law Dhanush take lessons in Hindi as he is not well versed with the language.
