There is a mood of festivity with the arrival of madinike. Indra informs daksh that shukracharya is angry on hearing that daksh has invited shiva also in the mahamandal. Indra is fearing that shukracharya might attack them. Daksh leaves for the mahamandal. Shukracharya thinks that his invitation to the mahamandal from daksh is a ploy against him and he decides he would attack on daksh. A dark cloud forms and travels ahead. The same black cloud is seen traveling around. Its sinister shadow falling on the ground getting bigger. Slowly a huge shadow is seen; as big as a mountain in shape of a person forming at one cliff.

Narad informs shiv that because of his decision of accepting daksh's invitation there is chaos everywhere. Shukracharya is thinking that shiv is also a part of the ploy which daksh is planning. Preparations of madanutsav are in full swing. The first day of the utsav starts. Chandrama and rohini dance, revathy feels bad. Madinike asks sati to sing a song. On touching the veena she remembers shiva. she opens her eyes but is so mesmerized that everything around her goes blur. Madinike tells sati that the song she sang was of shiva and she makes her realize that she is in love with shiva. Sati is shocked. Madinike advises her that she has to stop herself. 18 january...
Sati denies that she is in love with shiva. Daksh tells amathya to remove the sthan of shiv in the mahamandal to insult him. Prasuti tells madinike to take care of sati as she is worried for her. We reveal that shadow which is of a giant demon sitting still near this mountain. Dadhichi warns the shilpkars that there are signs of vritrasur hovering around. Sati and madinike are walking in the jungle when sati gets lost in the misty fog. Shiv is seen on kailash looking angry at something.
19 January...
Sati is hassled and lost. She sees vritrasur in the form of the cloud who swirls like a tornado moving around her. she is scared when suddenly shiv's trishul comes flying in the air.The cloud comes over daksh's palace as well. Prasuti and everyone around is worried. Shiva protects sati from vritrasur. He caresses her and the first touch happens between the two. Sati is mesmerized and just looks at shiva in awe. Madinike finally finds sati after the fog has receded. Sati is lost and is not the same as she was before.
20 january...
Madinike is relieved to find sati safe. Dadhichi is also relieved that the danger has gone when the clouds go away. Everyone is happy to see madinike and sati back. They start preparing for the beauty competition. shukracharya is angry on seeing shiva defeating vritrasur. He plans to start a war against the devtas. Sati sees a trishul mark on her. she is totally besotted by mahadev. Emphasis on the physicality here that goes to show that sati has given her up to shiv.
