loved how ManVeer decided to mess around with J .. that girl needs to find the Jagat dude again & go back to playing dress-up with him. eerrr. lol

loved komal's motherly nature & innate understanding concerning Manyata & her emotions (especially aware of how UV is affecting her daughter's life). i would be shocked to have such a hottie in bed with me, too! i probably would feel embarrassed if i had a naughty dream about UV and then woke up to realize that he was there next to me 😕 😆

this line made me laugh: "Meanwhile Vijay was making rounds. He needed some masala to make some tarkha"

Part Eighteen

The engagement day arrived Dadisa met with Giraj and Udayveer in the morning. It was raining heavily.

" Giraj, Uday beta, I really am worried for Manyata's safety. I think it is best to have the wedding on the 28^th of February. The following day Manyata will be of age. She will be handed over the power and property," Rajmata declared.

Giraj turned solemn.

"If you are sure it is the right time Rajmata then we will proceed with the arrangements. Tonight they will be engaged. It is a time of celebration but I agree that we need to be more aware of the danger surrounding Manyata," Giraj stated.

Dadisa turned to Udayveer.

"Tumara kya khayal hai Udayveer?," she asked.

Udayveer showed confidence and affirmation.

"If Manyata is ready so am I. Her safety is the most important thing for me now. She has changed into a princess. Main vaada karta hoon ki main uska saath nibano ga," he declared.

Giraj smiled proudly at his son. He reminded him of his late wife. She had always been the base that encouraged him throughout their marriage until she died a few years ago. He missed her terribly and hoped his children did not have to go through his grief.

Dadisa came over and caressed his cheek and forehead.

"You are the best match for Manyata, I am glad we all recognized this when you both were quite young. I am grateful that God led her back to us. I love you both very much," she said warmly.

Giraj had to leave before Udayveer so he paid his respects and took their leave. Udayveer simply wanted a glimpse of Manyata before tonight. He searched for her around the palace.

It had started to rain. He looked outside and saw her letting the rain fall over her. She was soon drenched. He gazed at her warmly and then suddenly he realized today they would be engaged , she shouldn't get sick today.

He went to meet her and bring her inside. She was spinning around and dancing in the rain. She went to the water fountain and started splashing around. He got some on his shirt. He grabbed her arm and pulled her close. Their eyes met and she stopped smiling and tried to back away.

His grip was too tight for her to be able to get away.

" Princess you should really go get into dry clothes. Tonight is our engagement and I don't want any more obstacles between us. We will be married the day before your birthday," he stated.

She looked at him stunned, his grip loosened and then she ran inside. Udayveer smiled after her and ran a hand through his now wet hair. He shook his head and headed towards his car.

Manyata raced up to her room. Her heart was racing. It was a matter of time before she would become his. The question was, would she ever be able to fall in love with him? Was she ready for her new upcoming roles?

Komal knocked on her room door.

"Manyata! Beta you are so drenched!," she exclaimed.

She grabbed a towel and started to dry her up. Manyata smiled at her mother.

"Tum theek toh ho? Today is your enagement. I am going to get the ladies from the beauty parlor to come over and get you ready for tonight. In the meantime you need to change your clothes,"Komal insisted.

"Theek hai Ma. I'll go change now,"Manyata replied.

J Nandini felt a pang of guilt as Manyata enjoyed the pampering and getting ready.

"Enjoy tonight jeeji. I don't know if I will ever see you happy again after today," J Nandini thought to herself.

Manyata wore a green and blue lengha for the affair. Everyone would change before midnight to either black or white. For the engagement part everyone would wear different colors.

Manyata knew tonight might be the last night she would truly get to enjoy. After tonight she needed to find out who was behind her accident.

Unnati and J Nandini decided to escort Manyata to the hall for the engagement. Udayveer was waiting impatiently. He was eager to take the next step in making Manyata his.

She emerged at last. He stood mesmerized at her natural beauty. She had her hair up with some strands out that were curled. She wore make up but it wasn't too much. He looked at her and realized she really did look like a future Mahrani today.

He offered her his arm when she arrived there. She slowly but surely linked her arm with his. She gave him a slight smile. He returned it.

They had a few eyelocks during the ceremony. The guests were in awe at how wonderful they looked together.

Sometime later when everyone returned for the New Years celebration, Manyata tried to find Unnati. She decided to make herself a target tonight itself. However before she could find her, someone grabbed her arm and pulled her in a vacant area.

She shrieked and the person covered her mouth and said," Shh princess."

She looked towards the person and her racing heart relaxed. It was Udayveer.

"Kya karo ho tum?," she hissed.

"I just wanted to talk to you alone away from the limelight rajkumari," he said with a smile.

She rolled her eyes.

"There is no reason to grab me like that," she hissed.

He reached to her eyes and took some kajal and out it behind her ear.

"Kahin tuhme kisi ki nazaar na lag jaye," he said.

She gazed at him feeling goosebumps. She didn't know if she would ever get used to his touch.

"Remember you owe me a kiss at midnight and a dance," he stated.

Before she could reply, the light suddenly went off.

Manyata took this chance to move away from him. Udayveer started calling out to her but no avail. He found his phone and used the light to find his way. He bumped into his sister.

"Unnati Manyata abhi yahaan thi. Tumne usko dekha?," he inquired.

"Nahin Dada, maine ne dehka,"Unnati said thoughtfully.

How could the lights go off suddenly? Was Manyata putting her plan into action earlier or was the culprit acting out sooner than expected?

Udayveer sensed something amiss.

"Unnati tell me is there something you want to say?," he inquired.

Unnati sighed.

"Dada, Manyata might have put her plan into action," she muttered.

"What plan?," Udayveer exclaimed.

" She is making herself a target so the person behind her accident is revealed," Unnat admitted.

"Tum dono pagal ho! You should have told me earlier Unnati. These things have to be planned really well. Now what if someone harms her? Come let's find her now," Udayveer declared.

Unnati followed him. Suddenly the lights came back on.

They searched for Manyata for some time. It was already eleven pm. Soon they would have to tell both families that Manyata was missing again.

J Nandini came over to them.

"What happened J Nandini? You got jealous of your sister so you helped her run away instead?,"Udayveer inquired.

Unnati tried to calm him down.

J Nandini tried not to show the hurt on her face.

"I didn't do anything but I know who did. I think I know where she could be," J Nandini declared.

Udayveer exchanged looks with Unnati. They followed J Nandini to the indoor pool area. The threesome was surprised to find the pool open and Manyata tied o chair and gagged.

"I will stall them, you two go ahead and release her," J Nandini.

"Kisne kiya yeh sub kuch?," Udayveer called after her.

He turned to see Manyata looking devastated at him. Unnati went to get something to cut the ropes. Udayveer climbed up the steps slowly. If she had fallen in she would have drowned by now.

"I am here relax," he whispered. She stopped struggling with the ropes.

Unnati arrived back with a knife. Udayveer took it from her. Suddenly the diving board lurched and Manyata fell into the pool.

"No!." the siblings exclaimed the same time.

"Dada we have to get her out now!," Unnati stammered.

Udayveer jumped in the pool and cut her ropes and removed her gag. He lifted her and placed her on the poolside.

"Dada she's barely breathing," Unnati stated.

He told Unnati to get some warm blankets and more help. He started chest compressions then gave her some breaths. After a few minutes she gasped for air. He stroked her hair back and looked at her relieved.

"Tuhme kuch nahin hone dunga," he said firmly.

Soon help arrived an so did the rest of the royal family.

Brijraj was looking at Vijay and Meneka in disdain. Dadisa and Komal kept hugging and stroking Manyata's head.

Manyata was helped to get changed and looked over by Doctor Saab. Dadisa asked Meneka to leave.

Manyata got changed and stopped the proceedings.

"Main theek hoon. I don't want there to be further divides in this family because of me. Meneka Bua and Vijay Bhai should have a chance to reform," Manyata stated firmly.

"Manyata beta I respect your wishes but they shouldn't have done such terrible things. We could have lost you," Dadisa stated.

"Lekin aisa nahin hua,"Manyata stated firmly.

"Theek hai. Then I will let you decide their punishment," Dadisa declared.

Manyata bowed slightly in respect. Meneka and Vijay were dismissed.

Dadisa looked over at the crown that had been kept aside for Manyata.

She indicated for Manyata to come closer. Dadisa placed it on her head gently. She cupped her chin.

"Today you have proven you are the rightful owner of the crown," Dadisa stated.

Manyata felt blessed and hugged her dadi.

anyway, back to 16, you've back some suspense!! aah, hopefully ManVeer and the rest of the family find answers 😃

now to 17 😊

I kinda killed suspense in part 18, but I will bring some comedy in later as Manyata will get her revenge and teach some lessons to Vijay which in return will teach Meneka to be the mature woman she should be by now🤣.

Of course maybe some more romance with Manveer after the comedy revenge part is over. Maybe a trip before the wedding and one after, we shall see how it all turns out. I am not sure how the rest of the story will shape up.
