Part Sixteen

A lone figure slipped under a car and quickly twisted some parts around. The figure slipped away quickly as to avoid being caught.

Manyata stepped outside the palace and glanced around at the cars parked there. She noticed the white sedan and decided to go with that. The security guards asked her to wait for her instructor.

" Nahin. I will be fine. I have driven a truck before," she stated.

They looked at her astonished.

"Rajukumari you drove a truck?," they exclaimed.

"Yeah it was about a year back, but this is probably not that much different," she added bit flustered,

"Ek second we will call Doctor Sahab he will get the instructor for you," the men urged.

Manyata sighed.

She started to look around the vehicle. She identified gear shift, the steering wheel and glanced around to look for the breaks. She stepped on one of the pedals and pushed the gear shift.

Suddenly the car lurched forward, she turned the wheels, the gate was open and she sped away.

Doctor Sahab arrived to the scene.

Someone came over and told him the breaks had been meddled with on the car the rajkumari was driving.

"Kya? Unka beecha karo abhi!," Doctor Sahab barked.

How would he tell this to Rajmata?

Manyata tried to slow down but the car wasn't slowing down.

"Oh my gosh! Yeh toh rukne wali!," she exclaimed.

Udayveer decided to supervise the driving lessons to make sure she was safe and not wrecking havoc.

There was a sudden frenzy when he arrived. He got out and looked at the damaged gate side. He looked over at Doctor Sahab.

"Yahaan kuch hua kya? Did J Nandini get angry and bust the gate?," he inquired.

Doctor Sahab shook his head.

"I just got word the car Manyata is driving, its breaks have been failed. This was someone's plan. We got to get her back safely," Doctor Sahab said grimly.

Udayveer stopped laughing and said," What?"

"How could anyone let this happen?," he exclaimed before he rushed to his car and tried to locate Manyata.

She had managed to head towards a more deserted part of the city. Her heart was racing.( Dilli Hardcore in background)

Her whole life started to flash towards her eyes. How Murari had cared for her, her chawl life, Akash, her friends, then Udayveer and her first meeting and every encounter since. How at peace she had felt the other night by the beach. She had on a simple yet elegant dress, how they had danced together. She thought about Komal, Dadisa, Brijraj the father she may never get to understand. Even J Nandini the sister she may not to get to bond with if she didn't get out of this mess.

She tried one more time to break. She gazed up ahead in shock thinking this was the end.

They had turned on the gps for Manyata's phone and the on star locator from the car. Udayveer was able to find her.

She was thrown out of the car but was able to grab onto some branches. Udayveer approached slowly, fear built up in his heart. Had he lost her before he could fully know what he felt for her?

He peered down and sighed with relief. Police and security arrived soon after he had. He turned and gave them a thumbs up sign.

Manyata climbed up and he offered his hand to help her get up. She gave him a solemn look and get up herself. He grabbed her wrist and escorted her into the car.

Everyone was gathered in the hall awaiting Manyata's return. She seemed fine at first sight.

"Manyata tum theek to ho beta?,"Komal exclaimed as she started to look at her daughter.

Manyata gazed around the palace. She couldn't believe she was alive.

"Manyata tumhe kya zaroot thi aisi akeli jane ka?," Brijraj asked in his firm but trying to be fatherly manner.

"Brijraj shukar hai ki yeh sub ne Manyata ko dhunliya. Udayveer agar aap nahin hote yahaan per toh..," Dadisa trailed off.

Udayveer turned solemn.

" Dadisa humne bus dhonda tha. Manyata saved herself today," he admitted.

Everyone looked at him startled.

Udayveer decribed what he saw when he gotten there.

" It's a miracle Rajmata that Manyata only suffered from some scrapes after the accident." Doctor Sahab declared.

Dadisa grimaced.

"I want a through investigation Doctor Sahab. If this happens again there will be no one worse than me," she declared looking at everyone firmly in the room.

She turned to Udayveer.

"Aap Manyata ko andar le jayegi. Aap ko kam ke liye deri horary hogi," Dadisa said warmly.( Bring Manyata inside. You must be getting late for your work.)

Udayveer bowed to her and led Manyata to her room.

Manyata walked along like a robot.

He sat her down and sat beside her.

" Our engagement is in two days. I would appreciate it if you didn't go anywhere alone the next few days. I have to go now but I expect to find you safe and sound on the eve of our engagement," he stated.

He wasn't sure how she would respond, but reached over and kissed her hand and then squeezed it firmly before he left the rom. Manyata snapped out of it as he left the room.

She couldn't believe she was alive after such a freak accident. Everything seemed like a dream. Unnati arrived to meet her.

"Dada wanted to stick around longer but he had some important work today. I hope you will be more careful from now on. I was worried for you," Unnati said.

Manyata nodded.

" I do have to be careful. Koi hai jo mujhe marna chahta hai," she said thoughtfully.

Unnati looked at her carefully.

"If that is true we need a plan to find out who it is," Unnati stated.

" Yes Unnati plan toh kuch karna hoga," she said firmly.

Meanwhile Menka and Vijay were talking in another room.

" Manyata got saved this time. However if she isn't severely injured or killed soon she will marry Udayveer and then everything will go to him," she stated thoughtfully.

"Mom woh ek jungle queen hai. She won't get out of our way that easily," Vijay said.

Menka nodded thoughtfully.

"Kuch toh karna hoga," she said.

" Toh aap Manyata jji ko marna chahti hain?," J Nandini said from the doorway.

Both Menka and Vijay exchanged startled looks.

Meanwhile, Udayveer was on his way out of a meeting, he stopped to see a nice florist shop. He stepped in and found pink roses. He looked at the roses and thought to himself," Hum jeete aur aap hare princess."

He smiled and asked them to send them to the palace. He wrote out the card
