| I did theatre for more than 15 years and was trained at the National School of Drama. My first serial with Balaji was Bandhan. After that there was no looking back. | ||
| How do you describe your character of Ba in Kyunkii...? | ||
| I completely relate to my character. She is the ideal grandmother for anyone as she plays all roles in the family to perfection. Ba has also grown and changed with time and has seen as many as four generations. The beauty of the character is that she is still respected by the youngest lot in the family. I think I belong to the character 100 per cent. | ||
| You are the eldest on the sets. What kind of a rapport do you share with your co-stars? | ||
| It is heartening to see that everyone from my co-stars to the people working on the sets respect me. They always care for me and make sure that I'm comfortable. And I love the way they call me 'Ba' of the sets too. | ||
| You are also seen in Kasamh Se where your role is completely different. Tell us more.<> | ||
| As an actor I think it is a good and different role for me. I did some comic scenes in Kyunkii... too and feel Ekta Kapoor liked that side of me and I was later offered Kasamh Se. It is a very lively character and I enjoy playing it. | ||
| Now that Kyunkii... has taken yet another leap, why is Ba still there? | ||
| I don't know how long Ba's role will continue post-leap. It is for the production team to decide. If they want to put the character to sleep, I will have to quit. |
