For the first time in what seemed like years Udayveer awakened not feeling well. The plan was for all the royal youngsters to go over to the palace today as Manyata was going to be cooking today. J Nandini and Vijay were unwilling sports but agreed so they could watch Manyata make a fool of herself trying to impress both families by cooking a meal herself.

Manyata's plan was to cook such food that was decent but the way she served it and acted during the meal would make everyone realize she was wrong for Udayveer. First the youngsters would believe it and then gradually the elders would believe it,

The kitchen help tried to assist her as much as she would allow. They ended up simply handing her things she needed. Soon lunch was ready. She marched over to the dinning table with sambar. One of the servants brought over the rice. She smiled brightly.

"Just bring the poppard then we are ready!," she exclaimed.

Everyone looked surprised at what was laid out before them.

" Is this all you are serving?," J Nandini inquired.

" Haan mere khaane mein bus ek course chalta hai," she quipped.

Vijay rolled his eyes.

" Guys let's try it out before judging," Unnati said.

J Nandini and Vijay exchanged miffed looks.

Udayveer simply smiled at Manyata as she served everyone.

He wasn't feeling well but decided to stick it out and see if his future bride could actually cook.

Her hand brushed his by accident as she was leaning between him and Unnati. She frowned.

" Why are you so warm? Behkar hai kya?," she inquired.

Unnati looked at her brother concerned.

" Dada aap theek to hain?," she inquired as she touched his forehead.

" Hum theek hain Unnati. Let's eat," he stated firmly.

"Looks like the effect of this jungli girl's food has already affected Udayveer in a bad manner," Vijay commented.

Unnati shook her head and took a spoonful.

"Dekho hum toh theek hain," she quipped.

J Nandini frowned at the food before slowly picking up her spoon. Vijay waited for her reaction. Udayveer turned away from Manyata and took a spoon. He looked up at her again and said," Yeh toh bauth accha hai," he quipped.

Manyata shook her head.

" I put no salt in your food. How can you say it tastes good? You really must not be well," she quipped before she headed back into the kitchen.

A few minutes later, he walked into the kitchen.

"I finished my share. You should eat something too," he quipped.

She turned to face him.

" Tuhme meri haar baat acchi kyun lagti hai?," she asked.

He smiled.

" Yeh toh abhi pata nahin. I guess I just like you princess," he said.

She rolled her eyes.

He felt weary but tried to hide it. He did not want her to see him weak so he excused himself. She looked after his receding figure in surprise. He never left her alone so quickly.

" He must not be well today," she muttered to herself as she grabbed a plate and munched a bit.

The men and youngsters were in the recreation room playing pool and chatting when suddenly Udayveer fell and hit his head. Everyone surrounded him and helped him sit on the couch.

Manayata was in the kitchen cleaning up when one of the servants came in a hurry and informed her.

" Why should I go to him?," she thought to herself.

She decided to take her time and go to him. However not knowing his condition was tugging at her heart strings. She did not love him yet but as human being she should peek in there and see what was going on.

"Let's see what act he's up to this time," she muttered as she walked over to the parlor.

She was stunned to see him laying on the couch with a small gash on his forehead. The others parted besides for Unnati and Doctor Saab to let her come in.

" Dada ko fever hai Manyata. Come let's get some cool clothes for him. They will help him lay down in the other room," Unnati said.

Manyata gazed at Udayveer in astonishment. She has thought he had faked all of this. It was apparent this was no prank.

Manyata and Unnati found some cloths and a bowl. Manayata told her to go ahead and she would bring some kada.

" I don't think Dada will drink it," Unnati said.

" Don't worry. Hum hain na," Manyata quipped.

Udayveer regained consciousness. He turned to his sister.

"Manyata kahaan hai?," he asked.

" She is bringing kada for you," Unnati said with a smirk.

" Yuck. Didn't anyone tell her I don't drink that?," he inquired.

"Yes Dada I tried but she insisted. Let her show her love this way," his sister assured him.

"Mujhe nahin lagta hai ki muhje abhi pyaar karti hain," Udayveer said.

Unnati smiled.

"Agar aaj nahin toh ek din toh pyaar ho jaygaya," Unnati assured him.

Unnati smiled at the doorway when Manyata arrived with kada. Unnati told her she would be right back. Dadisa met Unnati at the doorway and both watched from there as Manyata and Udayveer interacted.

"If you were sick why did you come today?," she asked.

Udayveer smiled.

" You were cooking especially for me princess. How could I miss that?," he quipped.

She rolled her eyes.

"Everyone probably thinks it was the food that made you faint," she quipped.

He shook his head.

" Trust me your food was fine, I am not sure about that kada there," he said with a frown.

She smiled.

"Ok now you have to drink this," she insisted.

"Kyun?"

" I said so," she retorted.

He moved his face away. She turned it back and then started to make him drink some. He got up a bit and almost spit it out.

Dadisa and Unnati tried not to laugh and decided to join the others in the parlor.

"Yuck!"

" Same to you!," she exclaimed as she tried to get up and leave.

He was able to grab her wrist.

She looked at him surprised.

" Even though you have a fever you are still trying to fight with me," she quipped.

" Haha, just seeing you makes me feel more alive," he said.

She gazed at him surprised. He grabbed her duptta, and noticed a small part had gotten burnt.

He looked up at her concerned. He started to look her all over.

"Why are you looking at me like that?," she asked.

" Tumara dupatta.."

"Oh it got stuck on the stove earlier," she muttered.

He pulled her to sit beside him.

"Promise me you'll be more careful," he said solemnly.

She shook her head.

" First look at yourself. You are the one everyone should be worried about now," she said.

He cupped her chin. She gazed at him startled. She feared he would try something since they were alone now.

He caressed her hair. She sat motionless.

"Manyata you are very important to all of us. You know what I like best about you? You are so brave. You are nothing like the rest. It will be great union between our families when we get married," he stated.

She pulled back.

"Lekin main tumse pyaar nahin karti," she whispered.

He frowned.

" So you are still thinking about that Akash?," he snickered.

"It is none of your business. Anyway I don't have any connection to Akash anymore. I just don't want to marry you. You are all about the money and power. Did you think about what I said to you the other day?," she inquired as she now got off the bed and was facing the door.

"Yes I have. I think you should give this all a chance. After all you do have first rights on everything here," he said.

She turned to look back at him. He probably meant the property. He just wanted her because the property was in her name.

"You are not well today. I had some things planned today. When you are better we will battle this out again. You can have the property and money. I will try to convince Dadisa to transfer the money in J Nandini's name," she stated.

Udayveer shook his head.

" J Nandini will never match up to your spunk," he stated.

She looked at him quizzically.

" Remember you were the only one who was able to catch that cockroach?," he inquired.

She sighed and decided to leave the room. He started to get up. She saw this and told him to relax.

" Dekho tuhme iss waqt aram ki zaroot hai. We can talk about all this later," she said.

He tried to grab her wrist so she would stay in the room a bit longer but he fell backwards and then she came with him onto the plush bed.

" Haaye itna pyaar karti ho hum se?," he quipped.

She nudged him slightly so she could get up, but he grabbed her by her waist.

" Choro mujhe!." She said before she started to curse him.

" Someone will come here and see all this. Let me go!," she yelled as she tried to get loose.

He held her tighter.

" I don't want your germs," she said as she finally got loose and smack his hands away.

She went to the closet and grabbed a blanket and then she turned and threw it at him. She grabbed the glass and headed out the door.

Dadisa was concerned about the press making up stories about Manyata since she wasn't seen with Udayveer in the public eye. The rumor mill was saying that Udayveer was still seeing other women.

She called Udayveer to her office one day.

"Udayveer hum chate hain ki tum aur Manyata kahein barr ghoom aao. We need to end all these rumors that you two are not in love. I think it is safe now for Manyata to leave the palace. I am counting on you to make sure she gets only good exposure if the press does show up," she stated firmly.

" Jee Dadisa. I am even feeling that Manyata is ready for an outing. She is always stuck inside. It's time for her to learn to deal with the outside world again. We all have our ways of dealing with publicity but Manyata needs to learn this sooner rather than later," he stated.

" Good. I am glad you agree with me. How are you feeling now beta?," she inquired.

" Ab hum theek hain. Manyata's kada really helped," he quipped.

Dadisa smiled.

" Make your plans and let me know if there is any need for more security. I am sure Unnati can help Manyata pick out a nice outfit to wear."

"Jee Dadisa. So have you decided about the engagement date?," he asked casually.

"Haan beta. I was thinking next week we will have it. Manyata has shown much growth, I think she is ready to be engaged now," Dadisa declared.

Udayveer smiled as he headed to tell Unnati about the engagement happening soon.

" Seriously Dada? I am so happy! Maybe Manyata will remember the roka between you two when the engagement happens. This will be so wonderful. I am going to go get her ready. We'll meet you at the hotel in a few hours," Unnati said.

Udayveer gave her a quick hug.

" Dekho usko cream wali dress dena," he said.

Unnati smiled.

"Don't worry Dada. I know that dress is the one you liked for her. I won't tell her it's your choice," his sister promised.

He patted her shoulder lovingly.

" Now that is like a good sister."

Manyata looked at herself in the dress that was formal yet comfortable. It reached right past her knees. She was concerned whether it suited her. She had never worn such an outfit.

Unnati smiled behind her in the mirror.

"Manyata you look great! Dada will be bowled over," she declared.

Manyata raised an eyebrow.

After a moment she turned to put on her earrings and shoes. Tonight would be the first night in weeks that she would just get to go out and have fun. She hoped it wouldn't be too crazy.

Meanwhile J Nandini decided tonight she would make it the worst night for Manyata.
