Love takes over!

The audio launch of Muppozhuthum Un Karpanaigal was a short and sweet affair

In an industry where audio launches are long-winding, drab events, the team behind
Muppozhuthum Un Karpanaigal (MUK) has been receiving praises for the breezy manner in which they conducted the launch of the film's album. The audio launch, which happened on Sunday, was markedly different from the start, kick-starting with a contemporary dance performance on romance by actress Rukmini Vijayakumar. "Since the film is a 'festival of love', we wanted our guests to get them in that mood before the album's launch," says the film's director Elred Kumar. Meanwhile, anchor Jagan's witty one-liners kept the guests in splits and lightened the mood.
The dance was followed by a live performance of G V Prakash Kumar's songs for the film. While Baba Sehgal and Maya had everyone foot-tapping with Sokkupudi…, Sithara made it an emotional moment with her rendition of Kangal Neeyae…, a song on mother's love. Later, the trailer and two songs (Mazhai Pozhiyum… and Sunanda…) from the film were shown to the audience who were awestruck by the visuals of the song. "For Mazhai Pozhiyum, we shot in scenic places along the Las Vegas-Los Angeles highway that were featured in Hollywood films like Independence Day and The Hangover. We even shot at the Hoover Dam, which was opened only a year ago after remaining closed for the last few years," reveals Kumar.
The audio was launched by Gautham Vasudev Menon and K V Anand who kept their talks short, focusing only on the film. "When conceptualizing the launch, we decided that there should be less talking and instead, we should give the audience a feel of the film. Gautham and KV kindly agreed to go along with that," says Kumar.
Gautham revealed that it was he who had initially suggested that Kumar take up direction. "After watching the trailer and the songs, I'm proud to say that he has been my find," said the ace filmmaker. Meanwhile, cinematographer-turned-director K V Anand, who praised the film's visuals (shot by cameraman Shakthi), said, "Kumar never compromises on quality and I have personally witnessed it when he produced my Ko. So, I can imagine to what extent he would have driven his own team."
