It's an annual tradition for Archana Puran Singh and her husband Parmeet Sethi to do a big world trip in the summers.

This year, the couple along with their kids visited Paris, Amsterdam and London during their holidays.

Kids special

"This time we decided to make it special for the kids — Aaryamann (10) and Ayushmaan (7), which is why we chose Euro Disney as one of our stops during the tour.

In fact, we stayed in a hotel located inside the park. Every hotel has its own little theme and it's very cute yet classy at the same time," says Archana. After staying at Disneyland for three days, the family decided to go to Amsterdam.

"What's interesting is that instead of travelling by air we chose to take the train from Paris to Amsterdam. My son remarked that our train was very HS (high society) and we ate loads of pizzas and enjoyed the view," adds the actress.

Being Europeans

Since they chose a different mode of transport, Archana decided to stay in a rented apartment.

"Parmeet and I have done sight-seeing before. This time we decided to live the way the citizens of the country do. We did things like shopping for grocery, cooking our own meals, doing the laundry and going to the market. It was a unique experience as we felt like everyone else."

Hamleys high

After their Amsterdam jaunt, the family moved on to their final destination — London. "We went to Hyde Park and Parmeet played football for a while, only to realise that he hadn't fully recovered from his foot injury."

For the kids, the highlight was shopping in the Hamleys toy store.

"That's the biggest toy store in the world and it's unbelievable. They have amazing looking Jedi swords that cost 145 pounds. It took us a while to get used to prices. But I let my kids have fun and pick up as much as they could fit into their backpacks."

When asked what her favourite moment was, she says, "I enjoyed living in Europe like the Europeans do and taking part in daily chores. Playing football, in Hyde Park was also fun."
