There have been posts aplenty, as abuzz as have been the rumor mills on and off ,in the preceding weeks on the impending curtains to fall over the much loved romance saga on this forum and off it too😭.

I can't but help put in a few words to bid adieu to a good show👏; flawed in bits and pieces yet brilliant as only the lead actors could elicit with their honest portrayal of their respective characters. I admit I am not the truest of fans having deserted the show in the recent past when the script strayed and unwanted buffoonery became the order of the day. Yet the inevitable of shutter down was for the coming as also much needed.( Yes that's debatable but why fuss over what can't be undone and is beyond our grasp)

I have never pursued anything on TV with as much interest as I did GHSP and it was only rewarding to have witnessed an immortal pairing in action. It was also a first to have have voiced my musings aloud on a forum like IF and found much love and joy with the GHSP brethren. Thank you , all you passionately mad souls😃.

Whether the GC-DD cracker of a jodi oblige us with an even better show in the future is but a mirage for now yet most would unanimously agree that no love story has tugged at our heart strings as persuasively and as heartbreaking romantic antics as did Geet and Maan, wrenching us of our very last drops of tears, of joy and sorrow alike.

To say bye is but a little difficult and the forum is replete with folks who are anguished at the prospect of going by weekdays without tuning into Star One at 9:30. Aside, folks who have forged a strong bond with members too have aired their miseries.

GHSP was no horse from the Balaji stables to sprint ahead to a decade and we knew it was in the offing that the show would have the cliched "...and they lived happily ever after". Yet the actual adios amigos is making me sad, for all my reasoning😕.

This epic of a saga shall remain in our hearts and mind as fresh as the blooms of dandelion in a clear summer sky. Finally,a toast to the show that managed a 'dhak-dhak' reaction even out of a serial hater like me.

And of course the mere fact that I am sharing these very sentiments with you all is a testimony to having shared a bond, much appreciated and cherished. Cheers to all of you and till our paths cross again- Good luck on the journey we call life😊.

Hey, nice post as usual.

Though i didn't stop watching the show...not as long as GC and DD were there...I was following it half-heartedly.

There was a time that I went over every change in expression, digested every bit of the dialogue spoken by the leads, melted along with Geet when Maan sent those super loving and may I say, lusting looks at her.

Then, all of a sudden, everything changed..the production quality went for a toss and so did the creativity. Buffoonery, as you rightly called it, became the order of the day.

Yet, among this ever widening desert, Maaneet remained like an oasis, the source of sustenance for the thirsty and the hungry.
They were the only reason I persisted in watching the show...they'd become my sheet anchor in an uncertain world.

But the time has come for me/us to let go..more for them than for ourselves. By now, I'm sure the two actors are aware what they've meant to their ardent followers, most of whom found the world a better place to live in once these two brilliant people entered it.

For me, it's enough to know that I was fortunate enough to have found this show almost by accident at a time when I needed to immerse myself in something completely. It kept my sanity intact and gave me a reason to wake up each morning and look forward to something enjoyable in life.

Having said that, I'm willing to let go. The show had done its time. Had the original writers been around, it might have been an entirely different story, in more ways than one. But, everything about it has been butchered beyond recognition, except for Maaneet.

But, then, a show can't survive merely with the leads.
Good luck and all the very best to the best onscreen couple on Tv in recent times. Hope to see you around soon, GC and DD. God bless and sayonara.
