Part 32

Prithvi "please tell me...is she alright??"

Arvind "we have to wait for next few hours and hope she gains consciousness else it will be dangerous and yes, she got a serious head injury, we cannot say anything until she's unconscious.

Prithvi seemed as if these hours were killing him, he couldn't think of anything else but just the pain he's given her, he surely doesn't deserve her, he can never face her. Because of him she had to face hardships and her life became miserable. While he was still thinking...

Angad "Prithvi please have some coffee, you haven't had anything since last night"

Prithvi "i am responsible for her condition"

Angad "no Prithvi, it was a misunderstanding, otherwise you would have never left her"

Richa "yes Prithvi, Angad is right. Its not your fault, please don't think all this happened because of you and I am sure when she will see you, she will hug you and all her pain will vanish"

Angad "of course and I think you should start your new life"

After few hours...

Prithvi asked Arvind if he can see Nandini to which Arvind said yes.

Prithvi opened the door of ICU where Nandini was lying unconscious. He gazed at her innocent face and a bandage on her head. He looked at her soft and fair hands with some bruises, he went closer to her and sat on the stool next to the patients bed. He slowly gazed at her and felt bad, he touched her hand and curled her delicate fingers around his hand. Then looked at her swollen eyes, he gently touched her stomach with his hand and thought about her pregnancy and miscarriage. A small tear occupied his eyes as he closed them helplessly. How much did she suffered just because of him.

"Nandini...i am sorry...it must very painful for you" he said while still holding her hand, with moist eyes.

He looked at her as if he would never let her go out of his sight again, he kissed her cheek and hands. He was incomplete without her...

After few hours

Nandini's hand moved a little and Prithvi immediately called Arvind to check...

Arvind "yes that's a positive sign, come lets see"

he checked Nandini while she was coming back to her senses, she opened her eyes slowly and then looked around...she tried to get up but Arvind asked her to rest.

Arvind "are you alright...please don't worry..."

Nandini looked up at Arvind

Arvind "i am doctor Arvind...you had an accident, so Prithvi helped you to come here"

Nandini "who????"

Arvind "Prithvi," then asked Prithvi to come forward

Nandini glanced at him then looked elsewhere...Prithvi felt strange towards her behavior.

Arvind "So how are feeling Nandini?"

Nandini looked around as if she was feeling very uneasy and tense.

Arvind "Please relax Nandini"

Nandini "i don't remember anything, what am I doing here?"...she seemed uncomfortable

Arvind sensed something wrong and asked Nandini to rest while he will have to do some more tests.

After some time

Prithvi "but what exactly has happened??"

Arvind "Relax Prithvi, according to the tests I can see that Nandini is suffering from concussion

which means traumatic brain injury.

Prithvi "what???"

Arvind "yes, and in her case she will be affected badly with symptoms such headaches, dizziness, fatigue, memory loss, sleep problems, and irritability.

Prithvi "so does it mean she has lost her past memory??"

Arvind "for now I have to say yes Prithvi. But don't worry it could take some months for her to recover completely."

Prithvi "it seemed she didn't recognized me"

Arvind "you are right, she didn't, but as I told you it could be possible that she remembers within few days or it could even take months.

Prithvi "is there any treatment that can help quickly?"

Arvind "the best treatment is that she should rest, day or night, and no stress for her at all. One more thing she should not look confused or think much, it may effect her badly"

Prithvi "when can I take her home??"

Arvind "well let her rest for another one week here...then you may take her"

Prithvi "thanks Arvind"

Arvind "please Prithvi, don't say thanks, and don't worry she will be completely alright, you have to wait some more months"

Prithvi was restless and disturbed...suddenly his phone rang

Esha "hi Prithvi...where are you??

Prithvi "Delhi"

Esha "when did you leave from here...i was looking for you...anyways when are you coming back??"

Prithvi "i will call you later" and disconnected the phone.

Esha thought she herself will go and check what Prithvi must be doing in Delhi.

After few hours

Nurse came to Arvind to inform that Nandini has gained back her consciousness.

Arvind "what??..lets go" on his way he called Prithvi to immediately come into Nandini room.

Nandini looked up and saw Prithvi...

Prithvi looked at Arvind who smiled at Nandini "how are you feeling Nandini?"

Nandini "i don't know...i...am trying to remember but..."

Arvind "no...its alright...you don't have to put that stress in your mind...well Prithvi can help you to remember everything"

Nandini "Prithvi??? but I don't know him"

Prithvi "don't worry, slowly you will remember everything." while lovingly gazed at her...

Nandini "i am feeling thirsty...can I please have something to drink?"

Arvind "yes sure...nurse can help you" and asked Prithvi to come with him.

Outside the room

Arvind "i understand it will be very difficult for you to handle this but I am sure you will pass through this hard time"

Prithvi thought something in his mind '.

After some time

Prithvi's phone was ringing "hello Angad"

Angad "hi '.hows everything...how's Nandini?"

Prithvi "she was alright today...now she's sleeping...i think the pills are really strong...she doesn't remember anything"

Angad " don't worry Prithvi, she will be alright...me and Richa will come in the evening"

Prithvi "ok..."

In the evening

Nandini woke up and looked around...she saw a man working on the laptop sitting in front of her bed...

"hello mister...who are you??"

Prithvi turned around "well what should I say now, I gave my introduction before"

Nandini "what are you doing here??"

Prithvi "nothing, just working"

Nanidni "i can see that, but why in my room?"

Prithvi "hmmm good question...because I think I should not go away from you"

Nandini "what??? but who are you?"

Prithvi "i know you don't remember sweetheart but...I am your husband" and smiled at her
