Chapter 6

Maan turned around and saw two beautiful girls coming through the door. One was wearing a white strapless dress with white heels and white elbow long soft gloves, had tied the hair back up with a butterfly making it look like a smooth fountain, covering her face with a white mask. And Behind this mask was no other than Pari. Girl next to her was wearing a light dreamy blue color dress that was slight above her knees, and same color heels and gloves. Her hair was flowing smoothly behind her back and her face was also hidden behind same colored mask. Yes, since this girl is next to Pari than of course it has to be none other but, the Cinderella, Geet.

Geet slightly touched Pari's forearm and said, "Everyone is staring at us."

Pari smiled and said, "Relax and just walk, ignore the others."

They both were heading towards the food table as they didn't wanted to hit the dance floor as of yet, besides then didn't have a date and every one seemed to be dancing with their own person at the moment, Seeing them come near Maan cleared his throat and said to Sufiyan, "Let's be cool and not act dumb."

Sufiyan started to give a nod but when the words registered in his brains he narrowed his eyes instead and asked, "The dumb part does not apply to me does it," more of a statement than a question.

Geet and Pari were picking up a drink when, Maan turns around and greets Geet, "Hi"

Geet greets back a soft, "Hi," and turns around to Pari, "What should I say?"

Pari shrugged, "I don't know...just talk about something," than smiling she added, "He sure is HOT!"

Geet grins and giving a brief nod she turns back to Maan.

Geet asked not sure what to say, "So, you want some Fruit Punch?"

Maan raised his glass of punch, making her bit her soft lips, he was sure as hell following her every single movement and her soft hesitant was driving him that much more crazy.

Geet: "Or you already have some."

Pari smiles at her friend, and shook her head, knowing that Geet will get comfortable once the awkwardness dissolves, she goes behind Maan to talk with Sufiyan.

Sufiyan; glad to get attention, cheerfully greeted the lady in white, "Hey"

Pari nodded and said, "Hi!"

Sufiyan said, "I am Maan Singh Khurana's Best Friend."

Pari gave him a side glance, "Is that suppose to impress me?"

Sufiyan shrugged, "Yeah...Kinda!"

Pari giggled, "You are funny...Come on lets get on Floor."

And they both made their way towards the dance floor.

Maan asked Geet, "Do you want to Dance?"

Geet asked, "What?" over the loud music.

Maan repeated a bit more louder, "Dance????"

Geet asked again taken a back, "What? Dance? Oh Dance," giving a thought for a moment she said, "yeah sure." And so, they both put their glasses away and Geet goes to the music player and gives him her iPod.

The song changes to Salsa tango!!!!

Maan leads her to the middle of the floor and they both start doing Salsa...

After first couple of steps, Maan complimented, "You have got some nice moves over there." He sure was impressed by her, first her late entrance, angelic dressing, soft voice, rosy lips, hesitation and now superb dancing. This girl was surly drowning him deeper and deeper in to the pool every passing second.

Geet nods and replied back, "Thanks and so do you."

Maan asked another question, "Did I tell you that you look beautiful," compliment in question form.

Geet blushed, "Thanks, you yourself look good in your tux."

Everyone present has formed a big circle by now and was watching this beautiful duet.

And Of course from everyone present includes - Tanya and Sanya are there too.

Tanya exclaims, "Who is she?"

Sanya replies back gaping, "I don't know, but whoever she is has got great hair and is so good at dancing too. And look at his moves that have got to be Maan."

They both look them dance a little more. Than gets out of there as Tanya says, "I have got a plan."

Geet and Maan are dancing smoothly and gracefully. Every step is going just perfect, every step getting complicated as the beats go intense, slowly moving on to the lifts. It was like they had rehearsed this performance before. They both anticipated each others next move, and trusted the other and were so drowned in to the dance when suddenly Tanya and Sanya scatters marbles from a huge decorative bowl right when Geet was about to a lift twirl. Her heel slipped on the marbles making her fall down and she twists her leg, but luckily our Cinderella is flexible.

Crowd all at same time gasped and some of them started murmuring among themselves. Pari and Sufiyan ' being the spectators so not saw this coming and were completely shocked at this sudden change.

Maan kneels down, "Are you alright?" Geet looks at his face dumbfounded. Maan stretches his hand out as he gets up, Geet slowly takes his hand and gets up, "Yeah...I am fine."

Maan with the urge to make her feel better said once again, "You dance really good."

Geet smiles a small smile, "Thank you and I fall down."

Maan, "No, no you really are good," and this is when he removes his mask.
Geet steps back completely shocked, "You ' I mean Maan Singh Khurana!?!"

Maan, "Yeah and May I please know who you are?"

At the same time the clock goes "Bang-Bang"

Geet looks over Maan's shoulders at the clock showing, "11:45..."

Geet: "Oh-Crap!" she runs pass Maan, Pari and Sufiyan to the DJ and says, "Can I have it back?" the DJ just stares at her, "NOW!" she yells.

She gets her iPod runs back her way, past Sufiyan, pulls Pari and runs from there completely drowning Maan in the pool. He tries to talk to her and he even grabs her hand when she passes him. But her hand slips away and her iPod falls down. She doesn't know that since she still has her head-phones in her hand she thinks that she has the iPod with her too.

After she leaves the hall Maan sighs and was about to turn around to Sufiyan when he sees the iPod on the floor. He bends down and picks it up as the ray of sunlight giving him hope of floating back to the top. He gets up once again and looks in the direction of the door. Sufiyan comes from behind and puts his hand on his shoulders.

Geet and Pari settled in the car and started towards Geet's house.

Geet noticed that she dropped her iPod and said lifting her head phones, "Shoot..."

Pari smiled and said, "Don't worry...we will get it tomorrow, and you were amazing out there."

Geet heaved, "I fell on my butt," and gave a look that said 'how in the world is that amazing'.

Pari said, "Who cares, Important thing is that Maan was all over you, He was right into your eyes.

Geet said sarcastically, "Yeah...right..." then after a moment, "You really think so?"

Pari exclaimed, "Definitely," and passed a grin to Geet. After about five minutes or so Pari's car stopped with a jerk in middle of the road

Geet chanted, "No...no..no...This can't be happening."

Pari hit her steering wheel and apologized, "Sorry...I didn't know that it will stop in the middle of road."

Geet grabbed her purse; opened the door; got out and started running.

As she was wearing heals it was hard to run faster thus, she removed her heels and resumed her running. As she reached her driveway she saw Naina's car coming in. She climbed the fence nearby and hid behind it.

The car came and stopped right in front of her. Luckily the fence was between them

Naina opens the door and steps outside while closing the door, her dress gets stuck in the door. So, she turns around to get it out. Taking the opportunity Geet jumps over the fence and runs pass Naina and through the main door in to the house.

As she closed the door behind her she sees the clean-up men coming down the stairs.

Geet shook her head, "No. no...She is right behind." They all rush back upstairs with Geet following them. She goes straight to step-moms closet and pulls out a soft silk teal colored robe and puts it on...making sure to cover each and every part of her dress. Then she turns around and is both surprised and happy to see the whole room clean and tidy and sparkling like diamonds.

As she hears Naina climb up the stairs. She runs to the bed and sits on the corner making her heavy breathing steady and calm.

Naina enters the room and looking she said, "I see, for the first time in your life your work is properly done and finished on time," and walking up to the bed and sits down besides Geet.

Geet gulped down her saliva and said, "You look tired," after a pause, "make that very tired."

Naina agrees, "I am...that was really a waste of time...and boring too."

She lies down and closes her eyes...

The men in the bathroom peeps out, upon seeing Naina laying down they take a chance.

They walk slowly past Geet and Naina, they wave a little buh-bye to Geet and she waves back and mouth a grateful thank you.

Next morning in school Pari makes her way towards her locker and says, "Hey," to Geet who was taking out books from her locker, "I am so sorry about the last night...I didn't knew my cat would stop like that." Yes, her car is her one lovely precious cat!

Geet smiled and said, "No Problem...I hope you were alright."

Pari assured her, "yeah I was...You reached on time?"

Geet exhaled, "Barely on time...exactly when she reached," and both made their way towards their class.

Pari's eye widened with fear, "Seriously."

This time Geet assured, "Yeah, But I managed...It was not that bad."

Just then they reached there classroom and the first bell rang...

Tanya smirks, "Hey Geet, you should have been at the prom yesterday."

Sanya drags, "Yeah...It was so good."

Tanya sing-songs, "mm hmm...and this one girl she was so good..."

Sanya emphasizes sarcastically, "Yeah she was so graceful...but looked like her luck was not with her in the end."

Tanya and Sanya laughed evil and went to their seat.

Geet rolled her eyes, "Oh God! Why do I have to deal with this two..." and trailed off.

Pari chuckled and was about to say something when the second bell rang marking the starting of the class and the teacher entered.

Geet asked, "What is there to laugh about?"

Pari nodded at her negatively and went around to her desk besides Geet.

"Good Morning," everyone greeted.

Teacher: "today we are going to head down to the lab and do some practical lab activities."

Right before they were getting ready to go to the lab.

Intercom goes off... "Hello everyone,"

Pari and Geet glanced at each other and rolled eyes simultaneously.

Pari said, "Who is that idiot...doesn't he know any better to be in the class right now?"

ha-ha. Pari: Unfortunately only person who knows her well. Yup unfortulantely! lol, i will say that is fortunate though ;)

OOO... Geet 'liked' Maan when she was small. Well who doesnt get crush when they are small ;) Maan has seemed to forget childhood as fame took over as if you see they both are from same city so means that most probably they went to same school too in childhood, and remember he returned back to Vancouver after two year to finish senior year, so he was there for 9th grade too!

Was he famous already then!!! I think i just gave the explanation above, now you guess it!

Let's hope she loves him now and not just like ;) lets see! may be it is not like or love and it is hate! who knows according to what i just said if that is true!

I hate his Tanya, Sanya and Naina i am sure every single one of us do ;)
