Part 26

6 months later...

It was a stormy night with heavy rain and thunder light...

Abhishek was completely drunk when Pratima opened the door...

"oh no Abhi you never drink so much..." she said while holding him to get inside the room.

Abhishek "did you talk to Nandini ?? I want to ask her if she's ready"

Pratima "i think she must be sleeping now... we can talk in the morning"

Abhishek " no I will talk now. I can't wait any longer now"

Pratima tried to stop him but he did not listen and went to Nandini's room...she wasn't sleeping...sleep rarely comes in her eyes...she cuddled herself as he entered the room...

Abhishek "so are you ready to marry me now?" he said while his voice was husky because of the alcohol he had.

Nandini moved a little away as he came forward and fell over her bed...she got up from the bed...Pratima looked at the situation and saw Abhishek unconscious on the bed. She immediately asked Nandini to come with her... Pratima asked her to wait until she gives some other work to the guards outside.

Few minutes later Pratima whispered Nandini to get out of the gate.

Nandini walked out slowly...the gates were already open...she escaped...

Richa was studying for her exams when her phone rang "i was studying ...this is final year...so have to study hard"

Angad "good...you should study...i just came from office...will go for dinner now"

Richa heard Sneha crying "Angad I will call you later" and kept the phone

Sneha "you scoundrel...i am coming there right now"

Richa "hey whom are you talking to Sneha??"

Sneha glanced at Richa "who else...he's my biggest pain"

Richa laughed and was going back to her study table when suddenly her eyes went on the picture on Sneha's table...she looked at their picture...she thought something...and then remembered the ball dance party...when Nandini and Prithvi had won the prize...they looked beautiful together...Richa got a tear in her eyes as she thought about her best friend... She remembered when Nandini use to go and meet Prithvi...and innocently used to tell her everything...

Richa never imagined Nandini would not contact her and thought she must be in trouble because her heart was not agreeing that she could cheat Prithvi whom she loved more than her life.

Pratima had given some money to Nandini...

It was difficult for her to escape the big valley...she got tired but then she had to somehow manage to reach the town...she could get some help from there...Nandini thought if she could go back to Prithvi...but then she didn't knew where he must be...he told her once that he will go to US...but how can she reach him...she couldn't go anywhere...

She was tired & fatigue overcome her...she saw a phone booth as she entered a small town... she thought of calling him...but his no was not reachable...she tried several times but in vain, she couldn't waist any more time and dialed Richa's no.

Richa "hello"

Nandini "Hello Richa ...its me Nandini"

Richa "Nandini"

Richa was numb for a minute and couldn't believe her ears... "where are you??...how are you??"

Nandini "please listen to what I am saying." while still out of breathe, she told her everything that happened with her...from the day when she went missing...about her Father cheating her...she got pregnant and got miscarriage...and how she escaped from Abhishek's house. She cried bitterly on the phone. "i don't have much time...the place he kept me in doesn't have any network, i somehow managed to find this small booth here and.."

While she was still talking when Abhishek's men saw her and grabbed her...

Abhishek angrily "you cannot escape that easily"

Richa "hello Nandini...are you there??"

Abhishek dragged Nandini out of the booth and put her in the car...

Richa heard everything on the phone...and was terrorized by what Nandini said...she was shocked.

Prithvi was completing his project when his Mother knocked the door

"Are you still awake??"

Prithvi "yes mom...i was doing my project..."

Renuka "Prithvi...beta I am worried for you...is everything alright"

Prithvi "i don't understand why everyone asks me the same question...don't I look fine mom??"

Renuka "yes I feel something is missing in you" and walked towards the door...

Prithvi "mom...wait"

Renuka "good night beta"

Prithvi still couldn't get out of his past...he still remembered her but with anger...the moment he thought about that night his eyes get red with anger...he gets angry at himself...how did he trust her, something was surging inside him, he felt like killing her...he had buried his past within him but the ashes could still be seen on his face.

He opened his cupboard and took a small box out...opened it and took her anklet out of the box and glared at it... he had found her anklet outside the hall in his college...he never gave it back to her...gazed it for long time and then put it back...

Richa was shell shocked when she heard her friend's condition...tears went down her eyes...she thought how much Nandini had to suffer...she rang Angad and told him everything...

Angad "i think we should find out where Prithvi is? I will try..."

Richa "no...no need to find him...he doesn't deserve Nandini...i feel sorry for my friend...why did she love him..."

Angad "Richa don't exaggerate... we need to find Prithvi...only he can save her...believe me if he would know the truth...then he will definitely find her...right now he thinks Nandini has cheated him..."

Richa "i don't know anything...but I feel really bad that I can't do anything for her"

Abhishek was angry at Pratima "why did you let her go?"

Pratima "let her go...she doesn't love you Abhi...how can you be so rude"

Abhishek "don't interfere Pratima"

His men brought Nandini inside...her mouth and hands were tied...

Abhishek "i will take her to my other house near the valley because I cannot trust you Pratima"

Abhishek "put her in the car...we will reach there by morning"

Pratima tried to stop him but he pushed her and took Nandini with him. Pratima had seen lust in Abhishek's eyes and she knew this time he will not leave Nandini...till now he didn't do anything wrong with her but now she could feel he will definitely force her.

After few hours

It was early morning with a little sunrise...

The car stopped outside a small cottage built on the mountain cliff...

Abhishek pulled Nandini out of the car...she tried to fidget...

he came closer and took off the cloth from her mouth and hands... "you cannot escape Nandini until you say yes this time"

Nandini "let me go...please...i...i can't marry you"

Abhishek "its alright I am accepting you...even if you slept with Prithvi..."

Nandini "no...let me go please"

Nandini started running in the opposite direction which had a huge and river just beyond its end point...

Abhishek "i am tired of you Nandini...this time I will not leave you...run where ever you want to run...i have waited enough for you..."

Nandini got scared and ran towards edge of the mountain...she reached a closed path...there was no where to go besides a big river behind her...

Abhishek "that's it...how far do you think you can go??"

Nandini "no...don't come near me..."

Abhishek "i have waited enough...now I want you to be mine Nandini...this time I won't let you go"

Nandini "no...don't you dare come near me..." she saw the big river behind her... "or I...i will jump."

Abhishek thought Nandini will never jump into this dangerous and big river... he started coming closer to her...she moved backwards...only few steps until she reached the edge of the cliff...Abhishek did not stop and kept coming closer...

Nandini turned behind and jumped into the river...the waves were very high...Abhishek was stunned and was frozen at Nandini's sudden action...for sometime he looked into the river but she was no where...he thought she must have drowned...

Prithvi shouted "Nandini" and woke up...he drank a glass of water and got up from his bed... looked outside the window...it was still dark...he had a bad dream about her...he closed his eyes for a second...he could only see her innocent face...
