According to the US episodes Tanisha wants Mamta married for several reasons...one she will be away from Akshay so no chance of Akshay and Mamta having any feelings for each other. Two her getting Mamta married will make her mahaan in the parivaar's eyes so then Akshay would have an even harder time divorcing her. And three w/Mamta gone Akshay would lose all hope of him and Mamta getting together and possibly succumb to staying w/Tanisha. Finally Tanisha's just a vengeful woman...likes to see other ppl cry at any cost...

Indian update wise Tanisha would want Mamta married to Sid cuz well that would kill Akshay when he finds out. It would only increase the tension between Akshay and Mamta. And also that would in a way push Mamta one step even more away from Krish and the Srivastav family.
