Pawan Kalyan, who is always known for his overt display of love and affection for his big brother Chiranjeevi, be it at any public appearance, surprised everyone by pulling off a turnabout. At the launch of his upcoming film "Panjaa", which was held in the city on Saturday night, many eyebrows were raised at the fact that Pawan Kalyan walked in to the starry affair without his older brother in tow.
In fact, all of Pawan's family members — Naga Babu, Ramcharan Tej, Allu Aravind or even wife Renu were conspicuous by their absence. Midway through the event, it was even announced the actor Allu Arjun couldn't attend the event due to 'traffic problems', amidst much murmurs. That's not all. Throughout the evening, the actor seemed to be trying hard to prove a point about his 'independence' when he took to the stage.
The Power Star spoke about how he doesn't like the audience to see him as Chiranjeevi's carve a niche for himself. "When my brother first asked me about entering the film industry, I thought a lot about it and figured out that people will come to see my movies only because I am Chiranjeevi's brother. I didn't want to be known for just that. So, I waited for almost six years before feeling confident about myself. I don't believe in vaarasatwam (legacy). I have my own talent and I work hard. So I wanted to make it on my own," said Pawan, who was never this candid.
The actor added, "I never claim that my movie will become a hit. If the audience likes it, then it becomes successful. But I work with sincerity and dedication. I know I can't satisfy all my fans and I'm willing to do more films to entertain the audiences."
Pawan Kalyan, who stayed aloof all evening, kept himself busy chatting with his son, who was with him at this event. The only other family member present at the affair was Sai Dharma Tej, his nephew. We wonder, what's up?
