"Chupana Bhi Nahin Aata...Jatana Bhi Nahin Aata...

Hume Tumse Mohobaat Hain... Batana Bhi Nahin Aata"

I think these lines sum up the mental state of ASR after hearing about Khushi's engagement! He is devastated! Even more than we had actually imagined him to be! THIS is what we all wanted! We wanted him to get a "Jhor Kha Jatka"!.

So we have got our wish! He has got a 1000 watt current through his system after hearing his lady love is no longer a "free agent"! (Does he DESERVE this?)' HELL YEAH! He SO does! But does that stop us from feeling sorry for him nonetheless? NO.

This is the nature of our tragic hero ASR...Even when we want to hate his guts, part of us still can't help empathizing with him! This is mostly due to the brilliant execution of the character of ASR by my current favourite Actor, the incomparable King of emoting... Mr. Barun Sobati! I Heart you Barun! ❤️

Kudos also go to the writers and directors for making this character so 3 dimensional that we can UNDERSTAND him even when we don't like what he does!

Did his wrong decision result in his current predicament? Yes it did. Is he doing anything to correct it? NO. As we have heard... he will only make things worse by saying he will now get engaged to Lavanya! Tit for tat! If SHE can get engaged, so can I! 100% childish and petulant response! But we know this is his M.O? So why be surprised?? I KNEW this was what he was going to do!

However...let's step back and think from his POV... the guy has NEVER been in love. He doesn't know what hit him! My guess is he did not have the time or luxury of being a teenage boy having crushes on girls and then collage boy being the chocolate hero etc. He was too busy from his teens to twenties building an empire and taking on the responsibility of being there for his disabled sister! So lets cut him some slack!

He has not got the "Emmotional Maturity" to know how to handle himself at this point! He feels REJECTED by Khushi! I know HE did the rejecting first, but he STILL can't handle this rejection from HER! Remember after he announced he will marry La and Khushi pretended to be happy? He was gutted! He tried to make her admit that she was NOT happy, but she stayed in character! So he turned around and rejected her, by saying she meant nothing to him!

Once again...in his mind SHE has rejected HIM, by getting engaged. NOT telling him about it, and then ASKING him why it MATTERED to him? He is SO hurt and devastated he reverts to type by lashing out and trying to hurt her by saying he will ALSO get engaged now! Also he must have thought what is the point of saying No now? What is he waiting for? SHE has already decided she doesn't want HIM right?

Now only Devine intervention and Snake's antics can bring these two together... as they are miserably failing to do a good job of it themselves!

👏 You summed it up pretty well.

Yes, Arnav never, even in his worst nightmare thought that Kushi would become someone else's. Eventhough, he is rude to her, he loves her more than himself ! He has emotionally tagged her as his ! Hence, he looses his cool and tries to tell her that this is not a joke.

Once again, my sympathy goes to our poor Arnav. He really craves for someone (read Kushi) who will love him unconditionally but at the same time afraid of letting them near due to his fear of loosing them. He tries his best to push Kushi out of his life. Little does he know that he is already breathing her in.

Also, he knows how much ever he pushes her away, she will always be beside him. That is why, he even talked about his mom near the poolside knowing that she will comfort him. An assurance ! But But, he could not take it when he has been shown the reality ! Kushi's words about her absence during his realization has started reverberating in his ears. Hence forth, comes the egoist ASR in the picture. How can he be proved wrong ? Never, that too not by this lady ! Ultimately to break her morals, he counter-acts. In that very moment decides to get engaged to La. To prove that he is ASR and nothing affects him.

Once again, here, we witness the battle of wills with hatred pushing the two together while love keeping them apart !

And for one, I am really enjoying this road less travelled !!! Not to forget, absolutely stellar performances from Mr. Sobti and Ms. Irani along with their sparkling chemistry.

P.S. apologies for my rant as it is 11.30 pm !

Thanks for your comments! It is 12.30pm in the afternoon for me here in NZ. That is what amazes me always... we are all from everywhere in the world united by our love for ARHI! :)

I just want Arnav to start realizing that he CAN give into love and still have the so called "control" he craves! True freedom is only found in true love and it will free him in his personal life to have the happiness and fulfillment that he has so far missed!

He needs this VERY badly. He needs Khushi 100% more than she needs HIM! She is a very stable girl emmotionaly and can handle herself. She felt broken when Arnav said she meant nothing to him, but she was not about to mess up her whole life over it! She bounced back!

I hope He realizes soon that SHE is the answer to all his problems and with HER he can finally be FREE!

About Arnav's realization;

Soon with the help of Kushi's unconditional love, he will win the battle against his past demons and will be back to form 😎

lol ! thats the whole story, isnt it ? How Arnav bacame ASR and how Kushi brings back the old Arnav.

@off topic couldn't resist: I have a huge crush on Shane bond and I wish I could meet him atleast once. lol.

Yes HE cannot handle HER rejecting him! He thinks he has all the rights in this situation! He has a LONG way to go before he will be ready to see things from others POV!

Like I said the guy lacks emmotional maturity! He just gets overcome with emmotions and just keeps "Reacting" and this just keeps making matters worse! He is not using his rational brain AT ALL!

He is basically acting like a teenager in love. Raging hormones and checked out brain... No logic or understanding! Only RAW emmotions prevail!

I feel sorry for the poor Jerk!

Do you remember he was the one who told her that Diwali intimacy didn't matter to him...He told her to get out of his life and STAY AWAY.

So he was the one rejecting her...the first time when he announced his engagement...that too right after such a tender moment...and then at her house with that ASR dialogue...So ...it is unfair for him to turn it around and make it an issue about she rejecting him now that she is engaged...

I agree! He THINKS she has rejected him... but it was HIS fault 100%. He is just not using his head! WHY would she sit around waiting for him to figure out what HE wants?

I mean this is HER life and he has no say in it at all! THIS is what he is having trouble processing! He has NO rights over her at all... but in his mind he thinks he DOES!

He is being VERY immature and childish! But then... that IS him when he gets emmotional. He just cannot handle himself! Espcially when it comes to Khushi, he just keeps contradicting himself!

He says he will marry La and then gets upset when SHE pretends to be happy!

He tells her to leave and she means nothing to him... then chases her down to the temple!

NOW he has the gall to be upset that she has moved on with her life! He is being 100% unfair and soon I hope he realizes this, and chucks pride to the wind and goes after his love!
