Hey buddies... thanks a bunch for the constant love and support... and your lovely comments... Love you all😳
So here comes the next part😛
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Part 49
The two worlds hardly come in unison and are diagonally afar yet there is a small difference that separates the one from another. Yes, dreams and reality can be at contrast but all it takes for the transitional shift from one to another, is a moment.

A moment ago everything was like a mess of crumbled wreck around him but now, a moment later as he saw her, all that he had ever wished for was standing in front of him. Dressed in emerald green and gold lehnga choli, as Geet came down descending the stairs with Pammi by her side, the rest of the world dissolved into nothingness around Maan. He forgot the prank... he forgot his anguish and for a moment, it was only her and only him! Maan took a step forward towards her but was stopped by a soft tug that he felt on his elbow thereby bringing him back from his reverie. "Sabar rakhiye beta" Dadi Ma said cheekily while she patted his arm in a soothing manner. Passing a fleeting look of confusion in his Dadi Ma's direction, Maan instantly turned back to see if she was really there and not just a figment of his imagination.

The spot light made her conscious, but it was the pair of intense eyes that was making her uneasy in her steps. As Pammi escorted her, Geet dared not look into the eyes that were causing a sluggish flame to rise in the depths of her being. But then wasn't she dying to see him all the while... didn't she want to see the surprise look on his face and more than anything else, despite everything didn't she want to know if he was really happy with this development? Geet knew all along that marriage was on Maan's mind since a long time now, but yet, her crazy heart wanted to be assured that he was really happy and willing to take her as a companion. This was her dream and for once she wanted to see the reflection of her dream in his eyes. It was this temptation that made her raise her eyes to meet his and the moment it did, time came to a stop for her. Indeed she saw what she wanted to see in his eyes and yet much more, that held her captive. Pammi nudged her to edge her forward and slowly she came to stand by him and this time, as a small smile played on her lips, she chose to look straight ahead and focus on the party lest she made a fool of herself. From the corner of her eyes, she could see Dadi ma, Anu and Pinky grinning as they seemed to have noticed their silent conversation from a while back.

"So everyone, let me introduce you all to Geet, Geet Handa... the to be daughter-in-law of the Khuranas" Viren's voice broke into the trance that usurped Maan. As realization struck, Maan looked at Geet and then to his father who addressed him now, "I'm proud of your choice son" Geet smiled coyly as Viren placed a hand on her shoulder and had her eyes fixed to the ground. The crowd broke into a round of applause while her cheeks turned crimson at the adulation.

Grinning ear to ear, Anu nudged Maan and asked in a hushed whisper, "Kaisa laga surprise Veerji?" Maan turned to look at Anu while Anu raised her eyebrows and continued, "Humne aapko zyada tang toh nahi kiya na?" she teased him while Geet who was smiling till now gasped and bit her lip as she remembered the events that had made this day. Instantly, as everything came back, Maan put two and two together and realized what has happened. His features grew hard while his eyes spat anger and he shot an enraged look to Anu first and then at Geet. Tentatively, Geet turned her head only a little to catch the look on his face and gulped when she observed the hard lines prominently marking his handsome features. However, this time it was Maan who refused to look at her and kept looking straight ahead. How dare she! The voice in his head roared while his fingers curled into a ball. "Maan" he heard her call. And his reply was a harsh whisper, "Not a word!" The dangerous look in his eyes shut her up instantly. She squinted her eyes at him and murmured, "It was not completely my fault". Her words caused him to snap his head at her, "You still have the audacity to defend yourself!"

"Kya hua Maan bete? Aap itna gussa kyun hai?" Dadi Ma asked, cutting into their conversation as she tried hard to keep from smiling. "Yeh toh kuch nahi hai Dadi Ma. You should have seen him during the day" Vicky piped in. Maan glared at them as the comprehension drew. "Matlab aapko sab pata tha" he asked incredulously. Dadi Ma shrugged her shoulders as Maan pulled his hand away when he felt Geet's hand softy grazing his adding to her irritation. But then he definitely didn't like it when his mother pulled her away to meet a few guests. "Come on Maan, it was a small prank. You fell for it" Viren said casually. "Dad you too! I don't believe that you all conspired against me!" he shook his head indignantly and then straightened as someone came forward to wish and congratulate him. He didn't know it was the good luck of his family and her or his ill luck that he was surrounded by so many people that compelled him to keep a check on his responses. Undoubtedly he was happy, finally at peace now that their marriage was being talked about but at the same time hell angry at everyone for having fun at his expense. And about Geet... well he'll deal with her... but not now! When he felt her eyes on him, his attention darted towards her to see her coaxing him through her eyes but he jerked his eyes off her lest he would loose himself in those.

Geet frowned and pouted cutely. Was it only her fault? No it wasn't! Didn't he know her well to even believe in the absurdity of the hypothesis? And she had so confidently defied to Anu that he wouldn't believe in any such preposterous thoughts! So yes if he was angry she was miffed at him too. But behind his anger, there was also hurt which only she could see and this was why she was she was trying to pursue him. However, it seemed he wanted to act his haughty self... So be it! "Main bhi nahi baat karungi... dekhti hoon kab tak nahi aate" she resolved and turned back towards the lady who was asking her some mundane stuff.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

Pammi observed the party and the splendor of the family in which she was going to get her daughter married. She saw Maan's stern gaze and for a moment she was worried, unsure. She feared if the whole surprise idea was right. What if she had over-read his concern for Geet and if truth be told, she had never actually had a word with Maan ever. Should she speak to him now? Perhaps, yes! With that thought in mind, she walked towards him.

"Chaddo na Veerji. Hum toh sirf aapko surprise dena chahte the" Anu tried to coax Maan but he was unrelenting. He was about to walk away when his eyes fell on Pammi approaching towards him with a tentative smile and his gaze immediately softened. "Aunty?" he asked. Pammi smiled a little as she walked to stand in front of him, "Beta, mujhe kuch baat karni thi" she said. Maan frowned a little but nodded and excused himself as he guided Pammi towards a corner. "Kya baat hai Aunty ji?" he asked a bit concerned. Pammi shook her head, "Nahi beta... baat toh koi nahi... bas itne dinon main tumse baat karne ka mauka hi nahi mila.And... (she shut her eyes and drew a deep breath before continuing) I just wanted to know if you are happy with this engagement." Pammi's apprehension threw Maan off guard. He stared at her in confusion, "Aap aisa kyun keh rahi hai Aunty ji?" Pammi looked back at the engagement party where she saw Geet smiling and then laughing as she stood with Pinky now. Maan followed her gaze and when his eyes fell on a visibly happy Geet even though he was angry on her, he couldn't hold back from smiling. "Bas Geet ki fikar ho rahi thi" he heard Pammi say and turned his attention back to her, "Maan Puttar, Geet aapko pasand karti hai, yeh main jaanti hoon. Aaj subah jab aapki family shagun leke aayi thi, tab se lekar ab tak, ek pal ke liye bhi Geet ki muskurahat phiki nahi padi. Lekin puttar, main yeh bhi samajhti hoon ki is pal ke baad, aap dono ki zindagi jud jayegi. Isiliye agar aap khush nahi ho, toh Geet bhi khush nahi hogi. Mujhe yehi jaan na tha ki kya aap is rishte se khush ho?" Pammi's expectant eyes refused to leave Maan's face as he looked at her, too overwhelmed to speak. He respected her. He was thankful to her for taking care of Geet and somewhere today he saw Rano's glimpse in her.

Maan took the elder lady's hand n his and squeezed it in assurance, "Aunty ji, main aapse aaj wohi kahun ga jo maine Rano mom se kaha tha... Geet meri zindagi hai... bohut pyar karta hoon main usse and I promise you, that I'll do anything... anything to ensure that she's happy and safe." When Maan finished, Pammi nodded her head in reverence and thanked him. When Maan objected, she simply patted his cheeks and said, "And Aunty nahi... Maasi" said that she excused herself as she spotted an acquaintance. Maan shut his eyes for a moment to get hold of the emotions that ferried through him. Pammi's gesture touched him deeply and it only made his surroundings more real. The thought that Geet was going to be officially his now was overwhelming and intoxicating and he once again lifted his eyes to see her only to find her staring back at him this time and momentarily found himself loosing in her.
If previously, he was lost just in her presence, it was now that he observed the small intricacies of her attire and the blush that deepened on her cheeks as he eyed her from head to toe. The reflection of the shimmering attire on her skin gave a golden hue to her complexion and he wished to pull her to him and hide her from the appreciative looks of the onlookers. She was his and he didn't like it when anyone even came close to her. And he knew that she was very much aware of this fact and yet she had pulled that trick on him. The prick nagged him. Yes, he was besotted by the way she looked this evening, but that didn't mean he had let her off the hook. She would have to pay for pulling the cruel prank on him. With that thought, he turned away from her and went to mingle in the party while Geet observed his indifferent stance and rued.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

"Lagta hai aap kisi ko dhund rahi hai?" Vicky asked tapping Sasha's shoulder. Sasha looked at him once, and haughtily replied, "Not at all. Main toh bas arrangements dekh rahi thi". Vicky raised his brows while he brushed his finger tips over her arm. Sasha jumped back, "Mind you Vicky! Stay in your limits!" she glared at him. "Oh I am... very much (taking a step towards her, and then pulling her close) in my limits" he finished in a husky voice. And soon after was awarded by a smack on his head. "Ouch!" he yelped as he turned and came face to face with a livid Geet.

"Geet" Vicky winced while Sasha chuckled and came forward to embrace Geet. "You are looking spectacular" she complemented her. "Thanks" Geet said. "Kya hua? Why are you looking so peeved?" Sasha asked. "Kyunki Maan Veerji is se baat nahi kar rahe" Anu filled in. Sasha shook her head, "Vicky, I told you, you were going overboard" she admonished. "Exactly... humme aisa karna hi nahi chahiye tha" Geet rued. "chup oye! Challenge tune accept kiya tha" Anu reminded her. "So? You know I can't resist challenges" Geet pointed while the rest of the gang started laughing at the explanation. "Go and explain that to Veerji and yes don't forget to tell him the condition you have agreed to" Anu pulled her leg further. Geet winced at the reminder and moved away from them to go stand by Pinky and Adi who were busy tending to the guests along with Dev.

"Kya hua bachchi? Tu theek hai na?" Adi asked her. Geet shook her head in a yes. "Maan ne kuch kaha?" he asked narrowing his eyes. Geet rolled her eyes at Adi and replied. "Kuch nahi keh rahe yehi toh problem hai" she complained. Pinky smiled at her cute face while Adi snorted, "Abhi se hi meri behan ko tang kar raha hai... pata nahi aage..." he lamented but then one look from Pinky had him trail back. "Aww... tu fikar kyun kar rahi hai? You know he can't stay angry with you for long" Pinky soothed her. When an old relative caught up with Pinky and Adi... uninterested, Geet walked away from there too.

"Dekha baba ji... dekha aapne... Mazak sab milke karein aur saza main akeli bhugtu. This is not done! So not done" she was complaining looking at the ceiling when she walked into someone. "Oh.. sorry" she started but then instantly shut up when she saw him standing before her. "Can't you see where you walk?" he admonished her and it irked her. "So much for being in high spirits on our engagement" she said through her teeth while trying hard to keep a check on her smile. "Don't put the blame on me! You couldn't have expected me to laugh it off!" he shot back. "No! I didn't... just as I didn't expect you to buy the trick! How could you believe that I would agree to get into a relationship with anyone else?" she bit back. "You knew where this would lead to" he accused her ignoring her retort. "I had not anticipated it to come to this... I even challenged Anu and Vicky..." without letting her complete, Maan pulled her off the prying eyes of the guests and in the next moment, she found herself pinned between the pillar post and Maan. When she tried to object, he gripped her shoulders hard and dared her to protest. "So this was all actually a plan to test my love for you?" he asked in a lethal voice.

The sudden change in his conduct scared her and she struggled to move out of his grip. He twisted her hand and held it behind her as he drew her close, "How could you Geet? I can understand it from others, but you..." his eyes were spitting fire but his voice edged hurt. "Maan..." she tried to interject but he held her wrist more firmly causing her to wince. "Do you know what I would have done if this was true? Do you even think I would have let you walk away from me just like that?" he asked menacingly and she turned her eyes to the ground. But he was not letting her off so soon, and so he cupped her jaw and jerked her head up to make her look into his eyes, "No matter what Geet... By consent or by force I would have ensured that you stayed by me for you belong to me! Kisi aur ka naam tumhare saath judne ka toh sawaal hi nahi uth ta kyunki agar kisi ne tumhare kareeb aane ki bhi koshish ki aur main usse chodunga nahi!" the murderous glint in his eyes, was enough a proof for her to know that he meant what he said. He continued but his voice softened a bit as pain flickered in his eyes, "If I was worried... I was worried about you and what you must be going through! But it seems you misread me... My love for you is no object meant to entertain you... I will not tolerate that!" he finished and took a step back.

The pained look in his eyes pierced her heart and she realized how far she had gone this time. She knew she was his weakness, she knew that the seeded thought was unbearable and yet she had given in to Anu and Vicky. She felt guilty to make him go through all this now. When he turned to leave she meekly said, "I'm sorry". Without looking back he went back to the party and she smacked herself mentally for falling prey to Anu and Vicky's trick.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
The party was going full fledged. The event was not that very grand as the rumour mills were still fresh but nevertheless this was an evening that was going to be talked about. One of the most eligible bachelors of the country was getting engaged. An evening that was going to ensure thousands of heart breaks. Finally, after an hour or so, the elders called Maan and Geet to the centre stage to exchange the rings. The youngsters closed in on them as the crowd cheered for the couple. "Maan... I said I'm sorry. Ab toh sagai bhi hone wali hai, abhi toh maan jao" she tried to cajole her when they stood beside each other. But he didn't reply. "Maan..." she tried to get his attention while she smiled at the crowd but he remained impassive. "Aap mujhse baat nahi karenge toh main ja rahi hoon" said that she took a small step away from him when he held her hand firmly and glowered at her, "I warn you Geet... Chup chaap khadi raho". Sulking at her own stupidity, she instantly fell quiet.

As the guest drew near, Maan acknowledged their presence and smiled at them to appear civil, or that's what it seemed to Geet. But the truth was angry or not, Maan couldn't wipe off the small smile that was adorning his masculine features while Geet stood beside him gushing with inner happiness. Pammi passed on the ring to Geet, while Adi and Pinky looked on as Maan raised his hand for her to slip the ring on to his ring finger. They had been together before but this moment was different so when Geet's fingers brushed Maan's as she tenderly slipped the ring on, a wave of current passed through him. It was the moment, when she had officially laid her claim on him and he vowed to himself that nothing will ever go wrong from here. Geet didn't raise her eyes, but he knew his demure Mishti felt exactly the same. The simple ring carved in white gold committed him to her in front of the whole world. The youngsters hooted while the guests applauded.

Maan observed Geet smiling ear to ear while he took the ring that Nandita passed on to him. So many emotions went through him and so he momentarily he let off his criticisms and allowed himself to bask in the delight of the moment. His heart swelled with pride when he saw her smiling. When Pammi nudged her, Geet raised her hand which was grabbed by Maan the very next moment. Vicky and Anu hooted yet again, while others laughed. However, much to Maan's irritation Geet's eyes stayed glued to the ground. He squeezed it and held it firmly causing her to look at him while he slipped the ring onto her finger. And then, in the gentlemanly fashion, he brought her hand forward and gently brushed his lips on her fingers drawing a huge applause while the photographers blinded them. They then took the blessings of their elders and the guests moved in to congratulate them.

Anu hugged Geet tight when they heard a voice, "Engagement ho gayi kya?" Anu raised her brow and turned with a hand on her hip while Geet rolled her eyes at Yash who was standing at a distance with a bouquet in his hand. "Nahi nahi... abhi kahan... aur 2-4 saal baad aate... itni jaldi aa gaye tum toh" Anu said sarcastically. "Arre, main kya karta? Mumbai traffic is the worst" Yash defended himself. "Aww... so sad... pehle bolte na Yash... main tumhe pick karne private jet bhej deti" Anu replied with a sickly sweet smile. Yash's smile disappeared and he looked at Geet for help who simply turned her head away, "Yaar... Geet, kam se kam tum toh samjho" Yash tried. "Kyun main kyun samjhu? Did you not see the time?" Geet asked. "Galti ho gayi baba... seriously, I had a meeting and dad ne kaha tha ki woh clients kafi important hain. I was stuck." He tried to explain. "Achcha hai. Clients ki meeting important hai... and what about me?" Geet asked irked at his late arrival. Yash came to her side and quickly placed a hand across her shoulder coming between Maan and Geet much to Maan's irritation. "Who said you aren't important? Geet... maan ja na yaar... sorry" he held his ears coming to stand in front of her. Geet nodded half-heartedly and said, "Ok... but..." Yash interjected, "I know... I know... shaadi main sabse pehle aa jaunga" Geet smiled at that and accepted the flower bouquet that Yash held out for her. He then congratulated Maan and then turned to Anu, who smiled at him and asked, "Geet maan gayi? So sweet!" and then as Yash smiled, Anu stamped on his foot hard that made him jump while she stomped off from there. Yash followed her while the others laughed. Geet turned around to look at Maan only to find him gone too. "Ab yeh kahan gaye... had ho gayi" she whimpered but Dadi Ma quickly came to her rescue and winked as the she gestured the DJ to play the song which followed.

Roshan hai yeh zameen, aasmaan sab ishq ke dum se
Dhalte hai din aur raat ishq ke hi dum se

Geet looked at Dadi Ma, who gestured at her to go and pacify Maan through the means of the song. Geet looked at Pammi who was standing beside Savitri Devi. Pammi nodded in agreement while Sasha pushed her to the centre and once again gestured for the spot lights to be turned on, on Geet.

Khushiyon ke beshumar behisaab se sikke khanke
Dil ki ab har muraad ishq ke hi dum se

As both the families encouraged her, the guests looked mesmerized at the innocent beauty that, the would be Khurana Bahu seemed to be an epitome of. As her voice mingled with the song and she bowed her head silently thanking Baba ji for this day when her dreams were finally culminating to her reality. Maan silently watched it all and understood every emotion that went through her as he could feel the same feelings coursing through him
Tu hai mera khuda, ab na hona juda
Kar de qaram ke dil yeh chain payega
When Geet turned towards him, Maan looked away and started to walk off but Geet quickly held his hand from behind just like he would usually do and closed the distance between them and touched her forehead to his back, meaning each word of the lyrics that went through the song.

Maula maula re, shukr tera maula re
Rubaru hua hai mera yaar
Hooo.. maula maula re, shukr tera maula re
Rubaru hua hai mera yaar

Having her so close, it was difficult for him to not respond. So he turned to face her and looked into the depth of her eyes that was brimming with the tears of happiness and she held her ears. Maan gently ushered her hands down and then moved close to place a kiss on her forehead. And Geet closed her eyes to feel the moment.

Ho.. sajde mein tere hi jhuk jaaun main sadaa
Teri hi baahon mein ho jaaun lapata

Gently holding her hand, he looked at the ring in her finger and touched his forehead to it before kissing her fingers softly. He then engulfed her in his arms promising support and companionship that would last a lifetime and beyond. However when Anu tapped her shoulder lightly, she realized that his proximity was her imagination and he had already moved away. Her eyes clouded with guilt and longing.

Chhayyan ho, dhoop ho rasta bhi ho naya
Humko ab kaisa dar sang jo hai tu chala

By the time, other couples had come to the floor too. And Vicky held Sasha's waist gently while he rested his forehead against hers and they gently swayed to the soulful music of the song. Pinky held on to Adi's arm as she mouthed the words. Adi smiled at her and bending down kissed her on her cheek causing her to blush before she hid herself in his chest.

Ho.. ab tere sare hi gham hai mere
Ab meri khushiyan teri hai sada

Yash looked at Anu as the song played and wished for a future where one day he would be able to engulf his love in his arms. He smiled at his thoughts and promised himself that no harm would ever touch her again. When Anu arched her eyebrows, he simply shrugged off.

Tu hai mera khuda, ab na hona juda
Kar de karam ke dil yeh chain paayega
Geet held Maan's arm and tried to stop him. She circled him and came to stand in front of him. Holding his hand she placed it on her waist and her hands moved around his neck moving in sync with the song. But Maan gently removed her arm off him and left the floor and Geet was left yet dejected. However, Maan caught that glimpse of her sad expressions and it hurt him more.

Maula maula re, shukr tera maula re
Rubaru hua hai mera yaar

Upset, Geet was moving away from the dance floor too when someone approached her for a dance but before she could refuse politely, Maan pulled her roughly to himself, holding her close while he looked at her intensely. His actions barred her from taking a step away from him.

Dev stood in a corner watching everyone as he smiled just a little and couldn't help the throb that ached his heart for a relationship that was never meant to be.

Ho.. maula maula re, shuar tera maula re
Rubaru hua hai mera yaar
Maan twirled her and then pulled her back causing her back to collide against his chest. His fingers brushed her bare waist playing with her senses before he bend in to place a soft kiss on her shoulder and then he twirled her in his arms again to make her face him.

Roshan hai yeh zameen aasmaan sab, ishq ke dum se
Dhalte hai din aur raat ishq ke hi dum se

The girls drew Geet away from Maan playfully. She lip synced the song while the girls accompanied her and they swayed to the soft lyrics beckoning the guys to them.

Ho khushiyon ke beshumaar behisaab se sikke khanke
Dil ki ab har muraad ishq ke hi dum se

The guys walked upto them in a meaningful gait and joined them in the dance or more appropriately appreciating the charming moves.

Ho tu hai mera khuda, ab na hona juda
Karde karam ke dil yeh chain paayega

Geet tip toed and gently brushed her lips on his jaws while she looked at him apologetically. But he didn't react to her gesture. He stayed close to her yet she was aware of his cold and distant attitude that was preventing her from breaking the wall between them.

Maula maula re, shukr tera maula re
Rubaru hua hai mera yaar
Hoo maula maula re, shukr tera maula re
Rubaru hua hai mera yaar

Giving her one last look, Maan pulled her off the dance floor and ensured that she stayed beside him through the rest of the evening. He needed it to be assured that she was indeed there beside him and was not going anywhere leaving him behind. He needed her beside him to assure himself that she was him... and there would be no one who would ever be able to lay as much as a finger on her.

Later, the evening concluded with Maan and Geet cutting his birthday cum their engagement cake together. Everyone was happy thinking all had been set right but Geet knew that Maan was still upset with her. She knew she had made a mistake and it was upto her now how she would manage now, to fix her folly. The party ended and Geet with her family made her way back to Adi's place but with a heavy heart.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

On the other hand Maan was on the edge the whole night. It was the day of their engagement. It wasn't meant to end like this but alas he couldn't come to be by himself. The little prank had invoked his fears and his insecurities. He remembered the apologetic look in her eyes and it pained him but he couldn't come to terms with the fact that she had fooled him. Didn't she know what she meant to him? Didn't she realize that her little disappearing act had brought fore the bitter memories of separation? The memories of the time that still haunted him... He feared the oblivion because he had fallen prey to it once. He knew the bitter cold ache that had shredded his heart every living moment of the day... could he afford to fall back into that again? No... he couldn't! He looked at the ring that he wore on his finger now and it filled his heart with happiness. It eased his anxiety a little yet the lack of harmony from within continued to bother him. He might not be a man of many words but he realized if she didn't understand his unsaid words then he would have to clarify his stance to her once and for all. He made up his mind to talk to her the next day.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

While on the other end, tossing and turning in her bed, Geet waited for the sun to rise up from the horizon so that she could go to his place and sort out the matters with him.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

No one knew about the tensions between Maan and Geet that their stupid prank had brought upon except for Anu as Geet had confided in her. It was Anu then who had made up an excuse about discussing some college work with Geet when Geet came to the Khurana residence in the morning. "Bete, ab Geet ko yahan aane ke liye bahane ki zaroorat nahi hai" Dadi Ma chuckled as Geet blushed slightly while Nandita smiled in acknowledgement. "Dadi Ma, main bahana nahi bana rahi... aur waise bhi Geet meri dost pehle hai aur aap sab ki bahu baad main... so she anyways never needed an excuse to meet me" Anu said haughtily before she pulled Geet along. Once Geet and Anu was alone, Anu ushered her towards Maan's gym, where she knew her Veerji would be at this time of the day. "All the best" Anu whispered to Geet and Geet gratefully smiled at her before Anu moved from there.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

Maan wanted to talk to her. He hated this tension between them. Her smile and her pleading guilt-ridden face had haunted even his dreams. He knew it, whether he liked it or not, he was dependent on her for everything now. His happiness, his dreams, his aspirations were all incomplete without her! He was incomplete without her! And so was she, he knew that! But now, he would have to probably make her realize it... He had hardly slept the previous night and was up pretty early in the morning. When sleep evaded him, he took refuge in his gym in an attempt to release his anxiety and calm himself before he could have a firm dialogue with her.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

Geet could hear the soft rustle of his swift movement as she turned the corner to enter his gym. She had been to his house so many times in Delhi too, she knew he was a fitness freak. Wasn't it evident from the taut muscles of his arms and those perfectly chiseled abs? She blushed at the directions of her thoughts and smacked herself mentally. As she reached the gym, she hesitated before entering, wondering what if he didn't like to be interrupted amidst his work-out regime. But then, sending out a silent prayer she walked in, with an intention to have a word with him but nothing could have prepared her for the sight that greeted her the moment she pushed open the door gently.
