Did anyone else notice Michael in the 20's?

I was watching Season 3, Episode 3 again, today because my sister's haven't seen it yet and they are catching up on season 3.
And I noticed that the "Police officer" that comes looking for Klaus and Rebekah is actually Michael! Did anyone else notice that?
Do you guys think there was a deeper meaning in showing Michael in that episode? (End of the Affair)
Most people probably don't even realise it is him!
