I Am Number Nine
OK, does anyone else get the Nate/Liz Hurley lovefest on "Gossip Girl"? Yes, yes, cougar blah blah. I'm not getting what he sees in her. He wants to take her as a date to the party. There's a party on GG? We're shocked. Dan is still celebrating his book fabulousness ' he's number nine on the bestseller list. Chuck is seeing the shrink who somehow knew Blair's prince. Louis the prince is paying off the shrink's father's debts in order to make sure Chuck never bothers Blair. Chuck bought a pretty pretty ring for Blair and he still has it. He gives it to the shrink and tells her to give it to charity. (Enter Kardashian ring joke here.) Liz Hurley wants Serena to come to her party and to write a blog for her smutmagazine. Blair is herding bridesmaids from her former minions. Where did they even come from? Does she go to Columbia/NYU anymore? Also, Christmas ads already? The thing with Blair and her Run Bridesmaids Run Race is stupid. She's wearing a doll-size bright yellow Robin Hood hat. Serena tries to get Dan to give up the script writing rights. She promises that she'll protect Dan's story so he can work on his next novel. Yeah, yeah. And surprise! Serena's boss wants to make his book into a movie about a self-serving wanna-be hipster. Chuck's shrink says she wants out of Louis' deal because Chuck is trying so hard to heal. Louis stalks the shrink in the park and Chuck sees them together. Uh oh. Party time! Nate takes Charlie/Ivy to the party to make Liz Hurley jealous. Charlie/Ivy schmooches Nate, which ticks off Liz and yet wins Charlie a coveted bridesmaids spot. Serena is sad because she couldn't fix Dan's movie. Liz Hurley offers to help Serena out. Has no one learned that trusting a complete stranger to take over your life is a bad, bad idea? Suddenly, the whole movie is dead. Chuck outs his therapist at the party. She actually seemed like a decent therapist, so too bad. Turns out Prince Louis spied on Chuck because he found the paternity test. So it IS the prince's baby? We are sad. Blair assures him that she and Chuck could never work because he destroys everyone in his life. Now Blair is worried that the prince is turning into Chuck. Uggghh, can something work out for someone, at some point? Nate liked the schmoochie with Charlie/Ivy but Liz reveals that Charlie/Ivy is only out to be a bridesmaid. And Charlie/Ivy finds out that Nate is sleeping with his boss. The shrink convinces Chuck that he can change and find peace. She gives him Blair's ring back. Liz convinces Serena to write her own blog and take Gossip Girl down. Wait, now everyone is working for Liz Hurley? Huzzah! Chuck shows up at Blair's place. Chuck apologizes for not waiting for her and for losing his temper and for not telling her he loved her. Awwwh Chuck. All he needs is the doggie. Blair says thank you. Is it the end of Chuck and Blair? He leaves his ring back at Harry Winston. Do they take returns? Dan dropped off the book list and he is sad. Liz posts her love for Nate on her website. Louie is off on a little trip and we can only hope he returns to find Blair and Chuck together!
P Recap...The Big Sleep No More
Several of our favorite Upper East Siders attend a performance of Punchdrunk's provocative theater experience, "Sleep No More," which translates to masks, anonymity and some surprising romantic twists by the end of the evening. Meanwhile, Diana sets her sights on Serena in her quest to ruin Gossip Girl. Dan is out on his book tour, but things aren't exactly as they appear to his friends and family.
