Khushi, a Forbidden Love for Arnav

Arnav once tells his sister that it wouldn't be worth breathing the life that is dependent on someone else's presence. He even tells Lavania that Anjali is the only person that matters to him. But then he starts feeling Khushi's presence and without him realizing, her presence becomes central to his life. He begins doing things he can't comprehend himself until it just becomes so obvious to him that life has changed. He shared a moment with Khushi that he thought he'd never experience in his lifetime. So, he asks himself, "Why did it happen? But more importantly, how could I let it happen?" Consequently, he resorts to a state of denial. Arnav is a mature and intelligent man. There's no way on earth he could have believed what he said to Khushi, for he knew he had experienced something extraordinary. He knew those moments were significant and not part of his mundane life. But now, he has to discard them as meaningless if he is to continue living by his principles - how could he let Khushi become dearer to him? I therefore interpret the scene by Khushi's house as Arnav's futile attempt to convince himself, not Khushi.

As it is now, Khushi is a forbidden Love for Arnav. So, he faces the challenge to make every possible effort to distance himself from her. He'll do anything it takes even if it means insulting Khushi and hurting himself. In fact, I believe it's more difficult for Arnav to tolerate this phase because he can't even express what he's going through. It's extremely difficult to be in this state of Arnav - an ineffable state that can probably be described as "This can't happen and must not happen, but it's happening..."

Arnav's phase of denial has a depth and subsequent beauty of its own, which would be invisible to the eye that treats it superficially.

I look forward to the day when Arnav confides to Anjali, "Di, agar Khushi chali gayi, meri saansein ruk jaayengi..." This is going to be so intense, just wait and watch.

Its very very logical for someone like ASR to be react like that..! Any human being would.. A simple example i can site is...

In an office environmental when u hire a new co-worker working under you the same project and is being appreciated over you.. it is a human tendency of sudden insecurity in one & u want to take over the control...&. This is precisely what Arnav is doing right now..! WHATS WRONG..!

I'm equally excited about the upcoming track. I just can't wait for Arnav to know that Khushi's engaged too. That fear of losing her will tear him apart.

By the way I just loved how you said, "and that "un-controlled" moment of passion woke him up from his "happy daze" to WHAT was actually happening to him!".

Besides, if we say that he is in a state of denial, won't it imply that he has realized his feelings for her by default?

See Khushi was confused and thus she asked herself, "woh sab kya tha" and went to confront Arnav. But Arnav didn't even feel the need to ask her or even ask himself. He just said, "How could I let it happen?" And then even in the car, he said to Khushi, "Oh so you're happy that I'm getting engaged to Lavania?" That look in his eyes and those words give me this strong feeling that he knows...
