Part 13 :

Mayank was utterly puzzled at Nupur's way of thinking and reacting to herself before she started speaking, "Mayank tumne kabhi koi ladki reject ki hai"

Mayank raised his eyebrows to the extent he could and blinked his eyes to jerk away the words he had just supposedly heard and asked loudly, "Kya?"

Nupur knew that was coming and it was difficult as hell for her to say this to Mayank of all people, it felt strange for one and unbelievably thought worthy for another. Narrowing her eyes a little so that Mayank stopped boring into them she said, "Matlab Mayank..shadi ke liye agar tumse koi milne aaye toh?...excited hoga naa...haina?" she tried suggesting what even she couldn't buy.

Mayank felt irritated.

Here he was not at all helping himself by not thinking about her and there she wanted to suggest someone to him. He thre glares at Nupur and Shilpa Sharma while he tried not to feel bad about the fact that Nupur not even having a thing for him.

This was so damn difficult for Nupur that she couldn't stop from cursing fate of hers. Firstly her Bauji wanted her to comeback to Morena just 2 days after she had returned to Mumbai, so that he could make her meet some more prospective guys for marriage.

Nupur tried hard to avoid, ignore, convince, explain and request but none of it helped.

Finally she had talked to Bui who always was her last resort and who helped her every time. Bui had talked to Nupur's Bauji into believing that Nupur would be meeting someone of her choice in Mumbai soon and he was a very nice guy, handsome, smart, helpful, well settled and an individualistically a very strong guy.

To Nupur's surprise, Bauji had called he to re-confirm it and she had said, "Bui ne kaha hai toh theek hi hoga...theek hai main mil loongi" and she had got to know that the name of the guy was none other than Mayank Sharma.

Nupur immediately called back Bui to ask whether the reason for her utter shock was the same what she had just heard and Bui replied, "Nab Nupur beta, mujhe isse achcha koi reason nahi soojh raha tha...aur tu hi toh phone pe Mayank ke tareefo ke pull baandha karti thi...toh bas uska naam mann mein bas gaya...aur main kitne logon ko jaanti hoon Mumbai mein? Kamse kam itne achche ladke ko toh nahi!"

Nupur checked with herself whether se had actually praised Mayank to this degree, well she must have because he confused her every time with his behaviour and she thought of him so much and all that she used to find was worthy enough adjectives. She wondered why hadn't she mentioned his rudeness and his arrogance as much as she should have, after all that is what she got all the time. Something in her tried to correct her words "Just Rudeness n Arrogance?" and she gladly ditched it for all she cared.

Nupur had never once thought about Mayank that way, or had she never let herself, whatever it was, it meant the same but hearing his name for this from her Bui made her nervous, if all all that could explain what she felt like.

Completely ridiculing the stupid intrigued mind of hers, she argued further, "Achcha thek hai...ab bol diya hai toh dekh lenge...main 2 din baad phone par keh doongi ki usne mujhe reject kar diya"

Bui replied back, "Nupur...tujhe koi kaise reject kar sakta hai?...Bhaiya maanenge nahi...balki unhe toh shak ho jaayega ki tu jhoot bol rahi hai...maine socha ki tu koi aur kahani bana degi"

Nupur replied laughing, "Mayank kar sakta hai Bui, who kissi bhi ladki ko naa keh sakta hai..unhe bata dena...Bade hi uchch vichaar hain Mayank ke ByGod...isse achcha koi kahani nahi ho sakti"

Bui replied back, "Achcha theek hai, yahi theek rahega phir"

Nupur replied a little worried and a little let down, "Bui...Bauji se yun jhoot bolna...yeh sahi nahi hai naa...baaki logon ki baat alag hai par Bauji?"

Nupur's Bui replied understanding Nupur's condition but wanting to help her she tried to lift her spirits, "Nupur, tujhe iss baat ka ehsaas hai ki ye sahi nahi hai, yeh achchi baat hai...ab toh galti ho hi gayi hai...aage se aisa nahi karenge, na main aur na tu"

Nupur replied feeling sorry, "Theek hai Bui" and then added as an after thought, "Thanks Bui...aapke bina pata nahi kaise yeh manage karti?"

Her Bui found some tears in her eyes as Nupur was like her own child, just like her own daughter Chinky and she missed Nupur a lot. She replied fighting back her tears, "Par main hoon toh...toh yeh kyun sochna...baaki bahut cheezein padi hain zindagi mein sochne ke liye, samjhi...ab mann lagakar kaam kar aur phir shaadi toh teri khud main karwa doongi"

Nupur laughed suddenly at her words and retained herself back again.

She tried burying this whole plan with a call back to Bauji about her rejection. And as she had done so, her Bauji had called her again to inform her that he wanted to meet mayank since liked what all he had heard about him and he did not seemed to understand why he had rejected Nupur when according to him his daughter was the best, though Nupur was far from this opinion and seemed to not understand her Bauji's point of argument rather. He had taken it as an offence to his heart though, she realised.

Nupur was again informed about it and she was hell shocked from that point when she heard that her Bauji was admant.

What was she supposed to do now? Mayank would want to kill her as and when he got to know about it and she just could couldn't come out of this situation without his help now. She knew she in deep trouble and talked to Shilpa Sharma about it who had laughed at the thought of Mayank's reaction to this. But from what she had seen in Mayank's behaviour for her, she thought this may bring up the issue between mayank and Nupur themselves, if they could see the gold.

She asked Nupur to convince Mayank to reject her.

If I would have been any other situation, Shilpa Sharma would have asked Nupur to tell the truth to her Dad without suggesting any options. But knowing Nupur so well, she wanted to help her and she knew Bui was involved too, so she decided to help her, besides she wanted to do this for Mayank too.

Nupur had taken very slow steps towards house today. She felt stupid and nervous in her heart towards her current blunder. Did she want to convince mayank to meet her Bauji and reject her while pointing out enough faults to convince Bauji for the same? Did she really wanted to do this, being rejected by Mayank? She couldn't seem to think enough and felt an uneasy emptiness in her stomach, she secretlty again wanted to gain some approval from Mayank again as he had left her home on his bike again.

She replied looking at Mayank's reactions, "Mayank please, Sirf bauji se mil lena aur reject kar dena...tumhare liye toh mere against bolna waise bhi natural hai naa...ek baar Bauji ko bhi bol dena." She finally voiced out her opinion of his on her and Mayank felt a mini shock at it.

But saw Mayank's face and realised her words were turning sarcastic rather than pleading, why was she behaving so, she chidded herself and reminding herself of her 'actual need' and tried to calm herslef down.

Mayank was out of his shock stock today. Now, this was worse, she wanted him to reject her and that too to her Bauji and wat did he hear, she had sung praises of him to her Bui? But coming back to present, this was beyond what Mayank wanted to do. And besides, he was angry at her, very angry, she was lying to her Bauji big time. He had thought so highly of her in regards to her relationship with him, one like he had missed having and now when he heard this, he couldn't help feeling annoyed and said, "Nupur tum apne Bauji ke saath aisa kaise kar sakti ho...tumhe trust ka fayda uthane ke liye koi aur nahi mila, Bauji ke sivaaye?"

He had such a big dis-appointment on his face that Nupur's heart pricked. She had never before seen Mayank looking at her the way he did now and it felt like she was the worst person ever. She could no more meet his gaze and looked down feeling embarrassed at her own deeds.
