Chapter 5

Next day around mid-afternoon

Pari said disappointed, "Who would be so dumb to walk away when Maan Singh Khurana asks your name...well, Of course except for you."

Geet narrows her eyes in frustration, "What's wrong with you...I didn't want to tell him my name and anyways like he cares of who I am or anything related to me."

Pari just stared at her unblinkingly.

Geet snapped, "What?" continues after getting bit calm, "You know I m right...You think when he signs autographs and ask all those million people their name and he remembers them. The next day he will not even know who they were and on the other side they will be like 'OH! Look I met Maan Khurana and he blah-blah-blah' and will tell them what they talked and all..."

Pari shrugged her shoulder, "Guess that might be true."

Geet exclaimed, "That is true!"

Pari knowing that her friend is telling nothing else but the fact, sighed and said, "I know, but still you are different than other people. You are not crazy about him ' because you love him," she added, "truly,"

Geet suddenly looked up at Pari, "No, Woaw who told you that??? I don't feel anything for him...Its true I used to like him; but, it was when I was small and didn't know half of the things; in was living in fantasy."

Pari sighed walked towards Geet put her hand on her shoulder and said, "Look I am your best friend and unfortunately the only person in this world who know you very well so, there is no point...I know you still love him and you are trying to hide you feelings."

Geet feeling awkward at the moment turned her face away.

Pari sighed, "Okay, let's think about what we will do at the prom."

Geet says thoughtfully, "Hmm...I don't know...I thought thinking part was your job."

And they both laughed turning the mood light.

Naina was sitting in the Sun room of her house when Tanya and Sanya walked in.

Tanya: "Mom today is Valentines Day and Prom too."

Naina said, "So, you told that to me like thousand times.

Sanya: "We heard Pari and Geet talking about it in her room and FYI we think she is going to the prom."

Step-mom shots up, "She is not?"

Tanya: "What should we do?"

Naina yells thinking up quickly, Geet'..oh Geet, where are you? Get here right this moment."

Geet in her room looks innocently at Pari, "Here goes the chanting again, really if she chants God's name this many times in the day she will be so blessed," and goes out of the room making Pari laugh shortly and seeing her go she said, "My Poor girl."

Down in the living room Geet said, "Yes..."

Naina climbs up the stairs and says, "follow me."

Tanya and Sanya pass an evil smile and goes to their room to get ready for the prom while their 'lovely' mother escorted Geet to her room and pushed open the door.

Naina: "You have to clean this; it should be done when I return back at midnight."

Geet; Her eyes getting wide at the site of the room ' looking at the mess and all the clothes and wigs and different stuff lying around, "You have to be kidding me. Pari is waiting for me in my room. We are going to the prom."

Naina gave a sympathetic look than changing her expression vice versa, "Remember, you work for me, so get started," saying so she left the place.

Geet goes to the phone near Naina's bed and calls too her room.

Pari picks up the call, "Hello..."

Geet: "Sorry but, I can't come...She has given me her room to clean."

Pari; her eyes getting wide, "You are in her layer? OMG ' Oh Come-on it can't be that bad...?"

Geet said looking around, "Pari, there are lots of unknown bugs in here that have not been discovered by scientists yet."

Naina says from the downstairs phone, "Whom are you talking with? Get to work. NOW!"

Geet to Pari, "Sorry...I can't." and hanging the call, gets to work."

"Ding-Dong" the door bell rings after about one or one and half hours. Geet practically runs down the stairs and opens the door only to find Pari standing with two hangers covered in plastic.

Geet says eyeing the hangers, "Please tell me those are not the dresses."

Pari smacks her lips innocently, "I can't..."making sheepish face she continues, "Because they are."

Geet exclaimed, "Pari!"

Pari said, "Hey you are going to the prom I already said that before and no one or nothing can ruin our plans tonight."

Geet informed, "I am still not done with the cleaning."

Pari suggested "How about I do your work and you go to the prom."

Geet looked at her friend as if she was crazy, "Awe you would do that for me." Than her smile fading, "But, still you alone will not work.

"Well, who said that I was alone," saying so Pari moved out of the doorway and behind her were the cleaning truck and three men.

One of them came forward and said, "So, the little doll is going to the prom? Okay, you go ahead we will finish your work before midnight."

Geet smiles innocently, "Thank you!" she says ever so sweetly.

At the prom, Maan and Sufiyan were standing at the food table.

Sufiyan: "Yaar, I am getting bored."

Maan assured, "Chill, you will find someone."

Sufiyan informed, "Everyone here has a date."

Maan pointed out, "Not every one ' you and I don't," and smiles and starts back to picking something to eat.

Sufiyan hits on Maan's shoulders and says, "look back!"

Maan turned around and see two beautiful girls coming through the door. One was wearing a white strapless dress with white heels and white elbow long soft gloves, had tied the hair back up with a butterfly making it look like a smooth fountain, covering her face with a white mask. And Behind this mask was no other than Pari. Girl next to her was wearing a light dreamy blue color dress that was slight above her knees, and same color heels and gloves. Her hair was flowing smoothly behind her back and her face was also same colored mask. Yes, since this girl is next to Pari than of course it has to be none other but, the Cinderella, Geet.
