Why doesnt Gopi stand for herself?

Disappointed with today's episode, I started searching for older episodes and somehow ended up watching many of the Rashi's Kalakaris and Gopi taking blame in most of them. I realised Aham was actually nice/ open to relationship with Gopi initially like the first time they meet when lights go and Gopi has diya in her hand, he saves her from fire, even sleeps in same bed after marriage, talks okay with her. He started being rude only coz he realised she is a gold digger. (but that doesnt entitle him to treat her that way)

Anyways, by the end of it, I was fuming esp with the Cooker incident where Gopi takes the blame, really wanted to slap her when i saw this today. 😡😡 ( i had read written update and didnt see the video earlier)

Yes Gopi is a nice person, naive, loving, caring , selfless, simple etc. Also as she was raised by Urmila, I assume that she believes whatever Urmila n Rashiben say and do is always right.

Today she told Rashi that if you believe what you have done is right, then you have to put your point accross and convince the other person. But why doesnt she do it herself even once when she was misunderstood and blamed 100+ times in the past 1 year. She doesnt seem to stand for what she does and doesnt. 😭

Saathiya is a serial that is seen by people accross India and world. She is loved by the audience and still I don't understand why don't the CV show her defending even once to what she has done. I don't believe that a person needs to be educated to communicate properly, she justs keeps shaking her head and doesnt utter anything and always has that wierd expression on her face when confronted or even questioned on simple matters.

Even Hetal/ Jigar are soft hearted, but they do speak up from time to time. But Gopi has been consistent with her silence. It is time that she stands for herself.. she should stop saying 'Ji Woh .. mera matlab hai .. main yeh keh rahi thi.." till the time we lose patience. The other person has to say say Gopi sach batao atleast 10 times before she tells them.
We've seen Aham's character since day 1. He is still the same person underneath, unconditional love for his mom, still shouts when he is angry with pple he loves (like Jigar incident), during Kinjal's fiasco etc . However his character has been built in the past 1 yr, he also has a softer side now..
Its more than a year now, but Gopi still remains the same, no changes in her. Isnt it time that CVs build Gopi character, she can still be the loving, selfless simple person with a bit of common sense. After being with CID Koki for such a long time and seeing her understand various kalakaris, Gopi should show some improvements. Yes Aham is accepting Gopi the way she is.. but Gopi should take a step towards common sense now.
I hope by end of the maha episode, we get to know atleast the fact that Gopi was lied about the letter and that her parents died on her bday by Rashi and this will create a change in her mind that people can be bad and they will use her if she is in lala land all the time.
If the CVs let Rashi get away with anything next week, I would rather start supporting Rashi, coz atleast by hook or crook she will achieve what she wants.. and I can always be on the winning side and won't be disappointed everytime I have my hopes high.

I agree with a lot, if not most, of what you are saying. However it is important to remember that Gopi has spent the majority of her life with a person whoi has mistreated her to such an extent that she finds it hard to string two words together. And then again quite early in her marriage her husband abused her and portrayed a quite menacing avatar to her on more than one occasion. Even Kokila was really harsh to her at the beginning of the marriage.
On the rare occasions that Gopi has tried to be assertive and stand up for herself it has not ended well for her. I remember that jsut before the mango scene Gopi told Rashi not to interfere in her and Ahem's relationship and that she would manage herself. All this ended up doing was getting Gopi physically abused by Urmila again, so Gopi always faces negative consequences when she is trying to take a positive step in her life.
Also earlier on Gopi was trying to get kicked out of MM as she found Ahem didn't want to be married to her. Urshi were giving her all sorts of bad advice that she thought would ultimately result in the betterment of the house. Now I can't remember if the cooker thing was something Rashi manipulated Gopi into believing she did so that Gopi would finally be able to leave MM but I have a feeling it was, which is why Gopi took the blame, however I could be, and very possibly am, wrong.

Exactly Nazma, with all these harsh treatments, there will be some change in a person's character..

I just wish that CVs show that a good and kind hearted person will not be always taken advantage off.. else pple will just lose faith in being simple and nice.

Nice post and you have portrayed Gopi's character well. But I have to disagree with you in some points. Since gopi was brought up by evil mami and manipulated by her cousin sister, she doesn't have the confidence to talk to people assertively. Be it Kokila, whom she adores the most, or be it Rashi whom she considers as her well wisher, Gopi always speaks hesitantly and gently.
Regarding the cooker incident, as far as I remember when Rashi was sure of being caught, she made Gopi take the blame on her since she wanted to leave the house. Gopi was always being manipulated by Rashi since their childhood, and she was acting nicely outside with her, giving Gopi the impression that Rashi is always concerned about her. This was the impression given to her by Rashi from time to time and Gopi acknowledged her many times for her concern. This is the reason why Gopi never believes that Rashi will do anything bad to her and fails to recognise her true colours. Regarding Urmi, she is deadly scared of her, as it was shown in yesterday's episode again.

I feel, when Ahem understands Gopi's underlying problems, he will make her feel comfortable and self confident with his love. You are right, it is high time Gopi needs to understand the real Rashi sothat she will be able to save her family from UrShi's hands later. Big hopes on ME for that!

I think recently there have been some changes to Gopi albeit very minor changes.
She's a lot more confident when talking to Ahem even though sometimes she does backslide when he gets a bit irritated. And she defied Rashi and told the truth (as she knew it) about what happened with the designer lengha, this was after Rashi told her to keep quiet about it.
I'm hoping once Gopi is confident in Ahem's love we'll see a lot more positive changes in her.

ya totall agree with you all your comments... gopi and Rashi belong to the same family right after all cousins...
Rashi will never learn her mistakes and will not stop playing kalakaris... and Gopi will never stop trusting Rashi...
only little minor changes have occured in gopi... that she loves aham, and listens to new people in life after marriage Aham/Kokila/Hetal...
the time has to go in reverse if Rashi/gopi will improve from their respective status... ya Aham eventhough willing to accept gopi in the begining it is gopi who was lagging all the way in all the things because of Rashi...

Yes indeed. She some times talks when we do not expect her to speak up (lehenga case). But it is not consistently shown (exam drama). Regarding RaJi's case, if she talked to Ahem straightforward that there is some problem between Rashi and Jigar, I think Ahem might have listened to her. Instead when she was stuttering with Rashi's name he got irritated and discouraged her discussing with him about that. Let's see how Gopi is going to react when she learns true Rashi colours.

Now to think about it, maybe Gopi talks when she has to accept the mistakes she has done directly or indirectly (like lehenga, cable tv), and unknowingly speaks truth about Rashi in that.. But when she knows that Rashi has done something wrong or when she doesnt know why certain things have happend, being a good hearted person, she doesn't want to implicate RAshi.
