STARSWALK DOWN MEMORY LANE ON DIWALI
Purnima Goswami Sharma speaks to your beloved stars and finds out how much they miss celebrating Diwali with their families back home
AISHWARYA SAKHUJA,TV actress
As a child,Diwali meant bursting crackers and eating sweets. As I grew up,Diwali became more synonymous with spending time together with the family.I have also become aware of not using crackers and being careful about the environment. There used to be a particular recipe of a pulav rice and kala chana that was made at home every Diwali which I really love.I miss being with my family,as I dont think I will be able to go down to Delhi to celebrate Diwali with my family this year.My dad would always sing the aartis.I miss all the festivities such as painting diyas. As a child,I once burnt my hand with a cracker and was upset with the idea of bursting crackers from that day onwards.I am glad because crackers are bad for our environment and also,so much child labour is involved in the firecracker industry.
