FROM FRIEND TO ACQUANTAINCE ' for Neelima

You meet a friend (who might I add has always been from and currently based in a small town/city) after many years on quasi-honeymoon with her husband and the first thing you suggest during your heart-to-heart is that she is unhappy and has made the wrong choice in marrying the town simpleton and has changed so much that it is hard to ignore?

Is this person really interested in my well-being or is this person just interested in ensuring that her friend "keeps up with the Joneses" and is not associated with unruly people?

I think the latter.

Neelima judged Krishna from the moment she meant him and gave Pratigya a strike one for her life choices. Why?? ' Pratigya may be educated but she is not from a metro. She had lived a conservative life even when she was with her father and family. Due you think Dadi or the Prof would have reacted any differently to seeing the open and easy going camaraderie between Neha and Abishek? Krishna perceived it as in appropriate just like any other conservative person with zero metro experience would have. His discretion could be questioned but not his perception. Swingers are not uncommon in the west yet most conservative Indian families in the west would warn our loved ones about it. Does that make us all dehati? Depends who is receiving the advice I guess.

Had Neelima been a friend she would have been more concerned with Krishna's treatment of Pratigya (which is thoughtful and caring) as opposed to Krishna's apparent lack of societal etiquette (especially as neither pratigya or her family live in a metropolitan society)

How does one trust the judgement or the advice of a woman who doubts her own husband (who she loves and has known for several years) over the word of stranger (especially one who she considers archaic in manner and mentality)?

Neelima and Abishek both made the same judgement call on Krishna when they met him, yet Abishek (who is also a friend) does not appear to cling to it now that he has seen the couple together. He has been understanding and accepting, which is the true meaning of friendship

Pratigya needs more friends like Abishek and less like Neelima.

I repeat a Downgrade is Required.😊😃
