Why does gopi wear palu?

When the she first got married she did not wear a palu but then she took her vows back and started wearing it so ahem does not see her face. But now ahem sees her all the time so why still wear palu it makes no sense and maker her look 40.

I think it's because she was at risk of being thrown out of the house, because Aham said it's her or me to leave this house, Kokila went to see her at the mandir and told her what she needed to do to stay in the house, to take back her vows, do nothing for Aham and put her pallu on in his presence...now though they never renewed the vows, they are sharing a room and she is doing things for Aham because Aham himself wants it that way she would never refuse when Kokila or Aham says, Aham is staying in the room with you, get my clothes, get Aham's green tea for him, because she is an obedient girl.

Gopi won't make the decision to stop wearing the pallu - let's face it she doesn't make any decisions without Koki's approval.
