At night, Aashta brings water for her father and they speak again...she says that she is the reason for his pain. He tells her that this word 'reason' is beyond the understanding of small ppl like them. He recalls some old memories of Aastha's childhood and tries to console her. He says he understands her reasons for refusing Baapji's wish but asks her how she will be able to tell this to Baapji. Aastha tells him to go to sleep and that some solution will emerge somehow.
Baapji's house
Next morning, Baapji's wife is looking for some chandan (sandalwood) to do his tilak and her and Chaturvedi have a small argument over how to tell if the chandan is real or not. Finally she decides to take it to Baapji for his touch will make even fake chandan real. Baapji touches the chandan with a smile.
Trishna arrives as Baapji's wife is putting his shawl on him and gives some disappointed looks when she takes the plate of rings/ornaments out of Trishna's hand and puts them on Baapji. Trishna seems to feel disappointed at not getting the opportunity to do seva of Baapji. Baapji notices her unease and asks her if she wants to say something. She tells him that the press is waiting to speak to him and she has given them instructions not to ask him about his decision to make an ordinary girl his bahu. Baapji replies that he hasn't committed any crime that he should have to run away from his decision. The media ppl are free to ask him any questions. He is ready to answer all questions. His wife escorts him out of the room and Trishna looks on pensively.

Aashram:
Back at the aashram, a reporter asks Baapji why he made this decision for Atharva-Aastha without asking them and doesn't he consider this unfair in today's times?
Baapji picks up a newspaper and reads aloud a few headlines. He then asks if all these decisions were taken by these ppl in question? He says that decisions are taken by God...I'm no one to take decisions...I only obey his decree. A reporter asks him when the marriage will happen...Baapji replies that will be when He decrees...and then he asks the reporter that he used to cover cricket, right? The reporter retorts, 'so you watch cricket?'...everyone laughs...Baapji replies, 'why can't I watch cricket?'...
A man approaches the podium and gifts a novel to Baapji. Baapji compliments him on his writing. The man replies that he can write but is unable to speak clearly without stammering and asks for Baapji's help. Baapji folds his hands in prayer and a moment later produces a piece of paper from his hands which he asks the man to read. The man reads out the lines on the piece of paper without stammering and is amazed. He bows before Baapji and thanks him.
