"The power of faith is undisputed but whenever a godman gets attention, his name gets associated with negative elements and factors. I have tried to present the story of a man who carries a halo, yet has a family life too," said Rajan Shahi, producer of Havan the series that went on air on Colors from Monday. "I am determined not to let pressure of TRP corrupt or dilute the positivity of the concept. We only want to highlight the virtues of having a belief and sticking to it," said Shahi, who has before turning to production been involved in direction of a number of serials, including Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin. His other projects comprise Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Bidaai and Chaand Chhipa Baadal Mein, etc.
"I have been through numerous experiences that showed me how faith can move mountains," said Narendra Jha, who plays Baapji, the protagonist in the series. Jha has come a long way from playing the eponymous role in Thief of Baghdad and Raavan, besides parts in Shanti, Itihaas and a number of other serials.
"Having played Raavan and a thief, I am now playing a man whom people worship next to God. I think, after this I can play any role," joked Jha, a native of Mithila, Bihar, adding that he never needed much practice to play Baapji, as his orientation is pretty much spiritual.
"We have only shot about 12 episodes and the feedback we receive will decide what course the story takes thereon," was the candid insight given by the producer and the actor, who were in Lucknow on Monday to promote the show.
