''Are you all right?'' Veer asked her with concern.

''Huh''.yeah''.I'm'..I'm all right'' Geet replied abruptly as she was broken out of her reverie.

FLASHBACK

Fifteen days passed'..

Geet seemed to forget the incident which happened to her and preferred to keep mum on the topic''.even if it was Veer.

She knew the kind of person he was'''but some things should be kept as a secret'..or so she thought.

The preparations of her marriage were in full swing.

It was a silent promise to the onlookers that it would be an affair to remember''after all it was the wedding of two of the most powerful families of Rajasthan-The Singhanias and The Shekhawats.

The haldi,mehendi as well as the sangeet-everything was happening amidst the presence of the best of designers, dancers, technicians, decorators etc.

''Sir it's important'' Adi cleared his throat and announced.

''But why I have to go abroad''it can be done here as well'' Maan roared.

''Sir you know this business more than anyone else'''they wont budge from their decision''

Maan threw the file on the floor in irritation and stormed out of the cabin.

Adi gulped.

''Hmm''good'' he smirked and kept the phone down.

The pundit started to hymn the mantras amidst the various sounds coming from all around. Children playing, ladies gossiping, men cheering and above all the loud music of the shehnaai filling the whole dcor, giving a feeling of the occasion that was going on.

The who's who of the political world, business world as well as the entertainment world were present in the marriage.

As the last phera was completed, the world saw the young couple-Geet and Veer-being united in a beautiful relationship.

FLASHBACK ENDS

Geet wiped a lone tear that escaped her eyes as Veer tried to console her. She tried to give a weak smile.

Where one part of her was overwhelmed with happiness at being married with the person she has fallen in love with (or so she thought), another part of her was crying silently for being separated from her family where she has spent those eighteen years of her life.

'Veer ji' she finally spoke after a long pause, 'why it is that always the girls have to leave their home and come to a place which is completely strange to them?' Geet asked in a trance. If she was in her right mind, she would have questioned her own question as to why she even uttered it.

Veer didn't say anything, just looked at her and gave a small smile'''he knew it was pointless talking to her, so he just let her say whatever she felt like.

'Why they let me go?' Geet's voice cracked as she said those words.

This time Veer opened his mouth to utter some words of consolation but was stopped as their car came to a sudden and abrupt halt.

'Looks like the engine has heated up Sirjee' the driver said looking up from the engine of the car.

'Bullshit' Veer muttered under his breath. Geet came out of the car after sometime and saw the two men talking. She looked up and saw the night sky gone near crimson-as if carrying a promise of rain. She felt the cool breeze mingled with a sweet yet intoxicating smell.

Geet didn't know why, she felt her stomach churning out of an unknown sensation hitting her. This being stranded in a near- deserted place, the ambience, the weather and to top it all this sudden breakdown of their car-all this was reminding her of something, or rather someone!

'Maan' the name once again escaped her lips involuntarily. She immediately closed her eyes and clutched the side of her heavy lehenga.

''Madamji''..why don't you visit the nearby temple for the time being''.people say it is really auspicious for a newly-wed bride to visit that temple''it's at a stone-throw distance'' the driver said.

'Huh' Geet was suddenly jerked back to the present as she heard the driver say something-what she didn't follow. Veer volunteered to come along but the driver restricted him from doing so saying it is only meant for the brides, not the grooms. Even though Veer didn't approve of it, after Geet convinced him that she will be fine. The driver gave a sly smile to himself.

'Goodbye Flight Lieutenant Veer Singh Shekhawat' the man on the other end of the mobile announced.

'What'''excuse me''who is this''.hello' Veer kept questioning and then heard the line cut.

As he removed the cell from his ears with a confused and angry look, he turned to see the driver giving him an evil smile'''and before he understood what was going on, his whole being was blown into pieces and there was fire and smoke around the place.

Geet fell on the stairs due to the vibration the intensity of the blast created. She got horrified as she heard the blast which was not too far from the place.

She tried her best and ran as fast as she could and reached the place where the car broke down.

Her mouth fell open as she registered the scene before her-the particular area was almost covered with a blanket of smoke amidst rounds of fire.

'Veeerrr' she screamed in horror and fell on her knees.

Yes yes I know I know I deserve a kick on my ass 4 bein sooo la8 in updating...par main bhi kya karoon...now I'm finally done with those bone-breaking dance rehearsals and tiring college fests n not 2 mention our hostel lyf (at lst 4 the nxt 15 days) n now I'm back 2 my happy hunting ground wid my dearest of frnds😊
