Charu is meditating before her Guruji's photo. Devki enters the meditation room and requests Charu to solve her dilemma.She asks Charu what she would do in case she found out that the Guruji whom she holds with high reverence and worships him, is a devil in disguise.Charu is bit taken aback but replies that in such a case she gets the natural
right to question her Guruji about his misdeeds.Devki gets the cue and requests Charu to stand by her like a mother would stand by her real daughter. Charu obliges. Devki then goes to Baa along with Charu since she wants her questions to be answered by her first.
Devki,Charu,Baa and baapuji are in baa - baapuji room.Devki wants to know from baa if she is aware of any file which IMV had procured regarding Sabina's past before Vaibhav - Devki marriage and wich he had used to blackmail her inorder to prevent Vaibhav-Sabina marriage.
Charu is offended by Devki calling IMV a blackmailer and reminds her that IMV is a man of self respect and he would never resort to such mean and cheap tactics to defame and disgrace a girl of his own daughter's age.
Baa says That IMV does possess such file and he used it to prevent Sabina from getting married to Vaibhav but he is not the one who had given the file to media to malign Sabina.
Baapuji advises Charu and Devki to not to believe Baa's words and take their doubts and questions to IMV themselves because baa will tell them what her son would have told his mother and which is liable to be untrue.
IMV is sipping tea when Charu slams the Sabina file on the tea table and demands explanation and justification for unearthing Sabina's past and spoiling Vaibhav's happiness.IMV is red with anger and makes it clear to Charu and Devki that his status and honour is topmost priority for him always and any thing which tries to threaten his status shall meet with stiff resistance from him. Only status and honour can give one happiness, recognition and all material pursuits in the society not pyar and mohabbat. He adds that after knowing Sabina's past he could not make her daughter in law because it would have brought disgrace to Virani's honour.
Charu disagrees and reminds him that her father gave her away in marriage to him despite him being a poor factory worker.IMV retorts saying that how people would often pass nasty comments on their marriage and would even speculate Charu's shortcomings which could have led her father to get her married to a poor factory worker(IMV). He tolied hard and earned status and honour not only for himself but for her too.Charu goes silent.
However devki chips in and echoes Charu's thoughts. IMV shoots back to her and asks him if wealth and status were not important then how come Bhawanji Seth married his only daughter to a drunkard rather than marrying a decent, poor guy.He further reminds her that only after judging Virani's wealth and status Bhaa got her married to Vaibhav.He further warns the duo if Vaibhav is adamant about Sabina and marries her then he would disown him from his property and title.He rudely and sternly tells Devki that her identity too is dependent on his wealth,status and honour.
Devki goes away to her room and remembering IMV's caustic comments.She receives a call from Vaibhav who has started for HongKong to get Sabina.Devki is confused and shares her heart with God because she does not
want Vaibhav to be disowned by IMV.She then thinks of asking Bhaa why he got her mother married to Dalichand and ruined her life.
