The Most Precious Gift Called Life
You know from the past few days, I've been getting this weird feeling... Don't know what it is though... Sometimes I'm in an AMAZING mood whereas sometimes I act as a depressed soul! I haven't been keeping quite well also but then I have been ignoring it... But for how long will I do that?
I've decided! Today, after dismissal, I'll go and meet the doctor!
Later in the day:
I rushed out of the staff room when I heard the bell ring and practically ran up to my car coz I was already late and it would take me some time to reach the clinic...
I drove as fast as I could... But damn the traffic! God! Why are all cities jam-packed? Ughh...
My anger kept rising but I HAD to control myself...
Finally after 1 hour, I reached the clinic!
Me: Hi doctor!
Doc: Hey! You're Riddhima right?
Riddhima: Yes doctor... Actually from the past few days, I haven't been keeping well but I kept ignoring my health coz me being a teacher, had a lot of work to do since exams were on!
Doc: Well Riddhima you shouldn't ignore your health you know!
Riddhima: Yes doctor! I know that very well... My husband says the same thing!
Doc: Aah... Let me guess, your husband's a doctor?
Riddhima: Umm... Yeah!
Doc: What does he specialize in?
Riddhima: Well he's a cardiologist... Dr. Armaan Mallik!
Doc: Woah! Armaan? Like my friend Armaan Mallik?
Riddhima was confused to the T!
Riddhima: Umm... You know each other?
Doc: Of course I do! We were in the same med school! We were or rather ARE BEST FRIENDS...Go ask him whether he knows anyone called Nikita Malhotra! I'm sure he'll be hell shocked as to how you know me!
Riddhima: Umm... Sure doctor!
Nikita: Call me Niki... All my friends call me that!
Riddhima: Sure Niki!
Nikita: So Riddhima, have you been having mood swings lately?
Riddhima: As a matter of fact, yes... And my students are on the receiving end since Armaan's out of town!
Both of them chuckled...
Nikita: So Ridz, you don't mind me calling you that right?
Riddhima: Of course not!
Nikita: So yeah, Ridz I need you to get a few tests done right now... The reports will be ready by tomorrow morning... But you're a special friend of mine... I'll give it to you by tonight!
Riddhima: Really? Thank you so much Niki! Thank you!
Niki: Oh stop that yaar! Itna formal hone ki zaroorat nahi hai!
The tests were done... Riddhima went home... She was quite exhausted after a long day at work and then rushing to the doctor made her all the more tired...
Later at night:
*Triiing...Triiing... *
Riddhima: Hello? Hey! How're you doing? Me too... Feel much better... Yeah? Its ready? Hmm...Go on...I'm listening... Huh? Like right now? Umm... Ok...I'll be there in half an hour... K... Bye...See ya!
Riddhima changed her clothes and rushed out!

Riddhima: Hey Niks...
Niki: Hey Riddhima! Come have a seat... I need to talk to you...
Riddhima: Yeah so the reports are ready?
Niki: Yeah... I have some good news for you...
Riddhima: Haan? Really????
Niki nodded and got up and took Riddhima in an embrace!
Niki: I'm so happy for the two of you!! You're expecting!! Wow! Can't believe he's gonna become a dad!
Riddhima: OH MY GOD! Niki I love you! Thank you so much! Thank you! Aah... About Armaan, I know right! He himself is a child and now he's gonna be the father of a child! Wow! And I'm going to be a MOTHER! You have no idea what I'm feeling right now Niki!
Niki: I know... So when are you telling Armaan?
Riddhima: Well he's gonna come back in 2 days... Its going to be a surprise for him!
Niki: Wow! That's a nice idea!
The two of continued chatting for a while and finally they went back to their respective homes...Both VERY HAPPY... One happy coz she found her best friend while the other one was happy coz she was carrying a life inside her...

Armaan: Hello baby... Are you all right? You don't sound quite good...

Armaan: WHAT?? Riddhima? Kya hua? Listen I'll be there by tomorrow k? PLEASE take rest... You are NOT going to school tomorrow... I'll catch a flight the first thing in the morning...
Riddhima: Uh no... Its ok... I can take care of myself Armaan...
Armaan: NO WAY! I'm coming there tomorrow... END OF DISCUSSION...
Riddhima: Fine! As you wish... Armaan I'm not feeling quite good... I think I should sleep... I'll talk to you tomorrow... Just text me and let me know your flight timings please... Have a safe flight... Love you...
Armaan: Hmm... Sure! Love you too Riddhima...Bye!
Riddhima kept the phone down and made the arrangements for the BIG DAY!

"Oh my god!! I'm late! Armaan will be here any moment...Ughh..." said a frustrated Niki who had to get up early in the morning to pick up Armaan from the airport... It was Riddhima's idea to send Niki there to surprise him... And most probably he would get her with him since she also is a doctor na!
Nikita rushed and was waiting outside the airport... Finally she spotted him... Armaan, clad in a white loose shirt with cream coloured trousers... And of course, his shades... He seemed to be tensed...
He walked out and didn't even realize that Nikita was there and just walked past her...
And then, as a reflex, he turned around and was left speechless...
"Niki?" he said confused...
"Yes Dr. Armaan Mallik... Niki..." she said with a wide grin...
"Is that really you?? What happened to the plump, nerdy Niki? Woh kahan gayab ho gayi?" he looked around her only to be smacked hard by her!
"Ouch... Niki teri yeh maarne ki aadat abhi tak nahi gayi na?"
"Nahi.. Nahi gayi..."
"Niki its good to see you again..." saying so, he hugged Niki...
"Niki I gotta go... Riddhima ki tabiyat theek nahi hai..." he was still worried about her... He had to be home soon...
"Riddhima?" Niki asked him with mock surprise!
"Shit... I didn't tell you na? She's my wife...We got married last year...She's not well yaar...Pata nahi kya hua usse... I had gone to Delhi for a conference and she called me last night saying that she wasn't well... Toh iss liye I came back today warna main do din baad aata... Oye tu bhi ghar chal..."
"Main? Abhi? Sure... I don't have any other work right now... Lets go!"
Riddhima wanted Niki to get him home as late as possible so that she could make everything ready...
Niki managed to convince Armaan that she would drive...
She drove as slow as possible...
Meanwhile, Riddhima did all the preparations...

Riddhima went up to the door; she knew it was Armaan so she opened the door slowly so that he wouldn't be suspicious...
When she finally opened the door, Armaan hugged her...
"Riddhima! I asked you to rest didn't I? Where is the maid?" he asked as soon as he entered and Nikita came in with him...
Riddhima ignored his question and instead asked him "Armaan? Who's this?"
"Oh I'm so sorry... Forgot to tell you... She's Nikita Malhotra... Dr. Nikita Malhotra... My best friend! We were in the same med school..."
"Oh... Nikita aaiye na... I'll get you some water..."
With that, Riddhima literally ran into the kitchen...
She immediately texted Niki...
"Riddhima??" Armaan called her...
"Ya Armaan?"
"Woh Niki has to go... She has an emergency case..."
Riddhima came out of the kitchen...
"Nikita? Itni jaldi?"
"Woh jee Riddhima... Mujhe jana padega... Emergency!"
"Hmm... Well then do come over some time... Nice meeting you..."
Riddhima moved forward and hugged Niki... And whispered into her ears...
"Thank you Niki..."
"You're most welcome... Abb chod warna Armaan ko lagega ki hum ek doosre ko jaante hai..."
Immediately Riddhima left her...
Nikita left... Leaving Armaan and Riddhima alone...
"Riddhima? Chalo... Aaram karo... You weren't well na?"
"Haan Armaan... Lekin tumhe dekh liya na... Tabiyat apne aap hi theek ho gayi..."
"Haan haan woh toh hai... Par chalo abhi aaram karo... Come..."
He held on to Riddhima's hand and dragged her into their room...
As soon as Armaan entered the room, he was shocked...
"Riddhima? Yeh humara... Yeh humara kamra hai??"
Riddhima nodded with a big smile...
"Yeh room mein itne saare posters? Woh bhi bachon ke? I know you like kids... That's the reason for you being a teacher but humare room mein itne saare posters? I love kids... But.."
"Offo... Armaan... You like it?" she asked...
"Loved it..." he whispered in her ears and hugged her...
Armaan ko abhi tak samajh nahi aaya...Ughh... Kya karoon? Kya karoon? Haan...I know what to do!
"Umm... Armaan? Tum thake hoge... Jao haath-mooh dho lo... I'll get the breakfast ready..."
"Lekin Riddhima? You're not well... I'll make the breakfast..."
"Fine... I don't want to spoil your mood by arguing... Aaj tum hi khana banao... But I'm gonna sit with you in the kitchen... I don't want my kitchen to be messed up!"
"Yes ma'am!" with that Armaan went and got into comfortable clothes and headed towards the kitchen where Riddhima was already seated...
"Riddhima what would you like to eat?"
"Hmm... Chef Armaan ko kya acha lagta hai?"
"Aloo de paranthe..."
"Yummy!" she said with a wink!
"So aapko wahi khana hai madam?"
"Yep... yep!"
"As you wish Madame!"
In no time the parantha's were ready... He had made four...
"Armaan? Yeh kya? Mere liye sirf do paranthe?" Riddhima asked him faking anger...
"Haan? Riddhima? Tumhe hua kya hai? Tumhari tabiyat sachi mein kharab hai yaar... You always have 2 parantha's na..."
"Yes Armaan... But I'm not the only one who's gonna eat na... I have to feed another person..." she replied thinking that atleast now he would understand her...
"Haan... Toh maine char paranthe banaye toh hai... I'll make you eat and you make me it... Right?" he asked innocently...
"Ugh... Armaan? Mujhe bhook nahi hai... Tum kha lo..." and she got up to go to her room...
Armaan replayed her words in his mind: "Yes Armaan... But I'm not the only one who's gonna eat na... I have to feed another person..."
And then it hit him!
He thought out loud: OH MY GOD! She's pregnant!
That stopped Riddhima from going and she turned around...
Armaan got up and ran towards her...
"Riddhima? Riddhima? Main...Main daddy and tum mommy banne wali ho???" he asked getting all excited...
Riddhima nodded sheepishly...
And Armaan picked her up in his arms, swirling around...
"Oh my god! Riddhima! This is the best thing in the world... I'm sooo happy... Thank you sooo much! Thank you! I love you Riddhima... Love you loads..."
"I love you too Armaan...Now put me down please... Mujhe chakkar aa rahe hai..."
"Oh yes yes... Sorry..." and they both oops the three of them, settled down on the couch...
Armaan made her sit on his lap and hugged her resting his chin on her shoulder...
"Riddhima?"
"Hmm...?"
"I still can't believe it Riddhima... Hum dono... We're gonna be parents? Wow... Our family will be complete!"
"Yes Armaan... Our junior Armaan is on his way..."
"Nope.. Junior Riddhima..."
"Arre nahi... Its junior Armaan..."
"Riddhima..."
"Armaan..."
"Riddhima!"
"Armaan!"
"Riddhima!"
"Armaan!"
And the two of them continued bickering... 😆

After 9 months, they were blessed with a beautiful girl who was named Ritika on Armaan's request...
Ritika was like a lucky charm for them...
They say na ki when a child is born, the parents come more closer...
That turned out to be true!
She had brought the two of them more closer...
After 2 years, Riddhima gave birth to another child, this time a naughty, handsome boy...
He was named Arjun...
The four of them: Armaan, Riddhima, Ritika and Arjun lived happily ever after... 😳
