Lets clear up the confusion here! A German woman said "bloody Indians" after a thief stole her bag in the market while she was about to buy some vegetables for herself. Sandhya herd the generalisation and was inspired to run after the thief, which was very courageous! The question is did Sandhya run after the thief to retrieve the German woman's bag so she could buy her vegetables or was it to somehow teach her a lesson about Racism at the same time? Clearly the direction was, this: She herd the woman's comments "bloody Indians" their was a close up of the corner Sandhya's left eye) and then she ran!! She caught the thief, Firstly proving that not all Indians were like that and secondly to highlight the German woman's racism!!!! So I thought to myself at that point great!!! This is going to really be a good message for people!!!

However she then turned round and said "Bloody Americans and Bloody English" proving herself to be Racist as the woman she was saying it was neither!!! She said people steal in every country and that Indians never judge anyone! (only steal then she was suggesting?) So the program was blaming the USA and UK for something a German woman did and suggesting therefore that one billion people hold the same opinions as one single racist woman in a market! Or if not was it to suggest that Sandhya's character is unaware that she holds bias and preconceived notions which is Oxford dictionary's definition of RACISM? Ok so she not educated but the writers could have at least given the character some values and morels!! If she only ran after the man to prove some misplaced ideology this therefore undermined her character and how it is perceived!!! Her bravery was not for the sake of what was the right thing to do but to rub someone nose in their ignorance!!

I can-not stand racism in even its very diluted mildest way and I really think many of you should be ashamed on here for not speaking out about this blatant incitement of hatred between nations and cultures that DABH is supporting! if the writers and producers want to tackle racism in their program then they need to really research it and get it right or they will continue to get posts like this from people like me that are offended by it!!! If i was born in India and of Indian descent I would be disgusted to think that my country was being perceived around the world as racist because of the stupidity of programs like this!!!

If Germany are nice to India as someone just mentioned, then it was probably a Brazilian or Australian woman. And she was definitely not a Brit or American. It's the fault of the dialogue writer, not Sandhya.

My point was that it may be something that the writers could look at to make a change!

Okay, so there are some points I agree with you on, and certain points I disagree with you on- but I do not want to go into that now. What I am surprised about is how you can call everyone else 'uneducated' and all sorts, just because they do not agree with your viewpoint? 🤔 Eeerm, who are you to judge their level of education? Anyway, just like you expect people to consider your thoughts, you should be able to accept others viewpoints, whether they be wrong/right. Because everyone has different views and tastes regarding things. I'm not criticising you, because like I said, there are certain things I agree with you on, but I get offended myself when I see your comments, like the one I mentioned above. x

Yes I agree! It could be the way that I write! I really don't intentionally want to insult anyone! Believe me some of the absolutely horrid things i have had said to me were really hateful and upsetting which the moderators had to remove! It seems that the show has caused all sorts of hatred and resentment among people! I'm English and all of my dear dear friends who i love very very much are from India ! I'm pointing this all out as i think its an offence to India and really corrupt!

Thanks for being a freind and brave enough to post on here! Take care and have a lovely day!😊

^ I understand where you are coming from. I am from England myself, born and bred here. Yet I've learnt to just digest certain things in Indian shows, because the majority of them are made in this way, to grab eyeballs and glorify certain things that are frowned upon. Anyway, when it comes to shows I've just learnt to keep my expectations extremely low, since I always have my expectations crushed. It's very rare nowadays to get shows that are unique and able to touch us on different levels. The only reason I'm watching DABH is because I love the title song, and the picturization of the title song 😊 x

Yes I guess your right! It comes down to expectations and like you I also have had them crushed! I suppose its rare to have such acknowledgement of these issues, as like you say the majority of programs are made in this way! I just feel so protective over India and I don't like it to be perceived like this around the world! I am a sincere fan of starplus and have also encouraged many of my friends to watch, however having to deal with their surprise at the lack of continuity with such relevant matters is such a pity! I love the song as well, x😊
