Amma aka Asmita Singh Sarma in Pratigya
Married to Sajjan Singh, Amma is a typical mother in law who can't stand her daughter-in-law -Pratigya. Amma is loud-mouthed and crass in her attitude. Her life revolves around her sons and husband who are the centre of her world. She fears her husband yet supports him when he is wrong. Currently she is devastated as her husband has married a young girl and she was unable to do anything. He took this step as he was angry when she tried to frame Pratigya for burning her and tried to throw her out of her son Krishna's life.
Uneducated yet powerful Sajjan Singh is a Thakur through and through- answerable to no one and a man who does as he wishes. He has a reputation and he does what he can to uphold the prestige of his family- even if it means to deal with situations in an underhanded manner. Recently after he came home post his kidnapping, he didn't think twice before killing his brother-in-law who was a conspirator in his kidnapping. Sajjan's appearance, mannerism and stature are grand and he has become famous for his style and dialogue delivery. He loves his family but dislikes Pratigya who always stands up against wrong doings in the house. As she did recently when he wanted to marry the 17 year old girl in spite of having a wife.
