Chapter 8

Plan in Action

Sitting on the study table, Anurag was deeply engrossed in reading a file, just then, Robindo came there and said nervously, "Dada, kuch maangna tha aapse." "Kya?", asked Anurag keeping his eyes stuck on the page. "Pehele please promise karo ki aap manaa nahi karoge.", Robindo innocently pleaded. Anurag flipped over the page and said plainly, "Nahi karunga bol!"Robindo closed his eyes and said in one go, "Mujhe pyaar ho gaya hai, and this time, I'm serious toh please aap ek bar meri girlfriend se millo, uske baad maa se milwa dunga."

For a moment, Anurag froze and tried to register the words in his brain which he just heard from his flirtatious brother. "Pyaar aur woh bhi serious aur tu?", he said in disbelief and closing the file, he stood up to face Robindo. Robindo opened his eyes, looked at his elder brother and lines of fear appeared on his forehead. "Haan dada! Sacchi mein!", he said gathering courage.

All of a sudden, Anurag broadly smiled and hugging Robindo, he said delightfully, "Wow that's really good news!" "Phew!", Robindo sighed in relief, hugged his brother back, thought, "Muskuralo dada. Baad mein toh zor ka jhatka lagne wala hai."and chuckled at himself for using the lyrics of a song in his mind.

"Done!", Mauli said giving a victory smile and hung up the phone. "Kis ka phone tha?", Taani asked normally. "Robindo ka phone tha, aur humhe abhi Golden Spoon Restaurant jana hai. Jaldi ready ho ja.", Mauli informed Taani and rushed to her suitcase. "Lekin humhe waha kyun jana hai?", questioned Taani curiously. Smirking, Mauli replied, "Just wait and watch sweetie!"

Waiting for so long in the restaurant, Anurag finally spoke up in irritation, "Aur kitna time lagega?" "Bas 2 min! Woh log raaste mein hai.", Robindo, who was sitting next to him, replied while keeping his eyes still on the doorway. "Woh log? Matlab?", Anurag confusedly asked. "Oh haan! Bataana bhul gaya. Uske saath uski dost bhi aa rahi hai.", said Robindo normally and the next moment, a huge smile appeared on his face. "Aa gaye.", he said and looked at the doorway. Anurag followed the direction Robindo was looking at and there both Anurag and Taani were dumbfounded to see each other. Mauli and Robindo gestured a thumbs up signs to each other.

With glittering smile, Robindo walked beside Taani and placing his hand around her shoulder and facing Anurag, he said proudly, "Dada! Meet my girlfriend, Taani." At a loss of words, Taani immediately turned her face towards Robindo, and Anurag was too shocked to react on it. Taani was about to say something, but as Mauli noticed it, she stepped forward and said smilingly, "Aur main hu Taani ki best friend Mauli that mean, Robindo ki hone waali saali."

Anurag deeply stared at Robindo's hand on Taani's shoulder for a while and clutched his fingers in his fist in anger, and on noticing that, Mauli and Robindo smirked, while Taani blankly stared at Anurag and tried to read his face.

After the introduction session, all four sat on the chairs around the table. The Ganguly brothers and the besties sat beside each other. "So Taani, I hope tumhe yaha aane mein taqleef nahi hui.", said Robindo softly looking lovingly at Taani's face. "Koi problem nahi hui.", said Taani in a low tone keeping her eyes lowered.

"Great! So lets order something! I'm really too hungry!", said Robindo childishly and called a waiter. "Kya khayoge tum log?", he asked the rest three casually. "Mere liye sirf orange juice.", said Mauli smilingly. "A glass of water for me.", Anurag said in his usual rude way. "Aur Taani tum?", Robindo asked Taani extra-affectionately, but getting no response from her, he ordered, "Madam aur mere liye apple juice." "Taani ko apple se allergy hai, so bring a chocolate milk-shake for her.", Anurag ordered and nodding, the waiter left. Mauli and Robindo smiled broadly as everything was going exactly the way they wanted. Taani raised her eyes and lovingly gazed at Anurag and slightly smiled thinking how much Anurag cared for her.

All four were sitting so quietly. Mauli was thinking what to do next. "Baithe rehene se kuch kaam nahi hoga. Need to go something. Kaali maa, please help karo.", Robindo inwardly prayed to god. At that moment, the music started and the host of the evening invited all the couples to a dance floor. "Arey waah! Itni jaldi help kar diya. Thank you Kali maa!", Robindo thought gratefully smiling.

"May I have the pleasure to dance with the most beautiful lady on this earth?", said Robindo sweetly kneeling in front of Taani who was about to shake her head but was interrupted when Mauli suddenly spoke up loudly, "Yeah she'll dance with you. She will!" Sighing, Taani nodded and as she went up to the dance floor with Robindo, Anurag kept on glaring her.

Seeing Taani dancing so closely with another guy, even though he was his own brother, was out of the limit of Anurag's tolerance. As each second was passing, he fumed more in anger, and Mauli, who could easily see the fire of anger and jealousy in his eyes, covered her mouth to suppress her laugh. The plan was working and she was feeling like to jump in excitement. After all, for the first time, she was doing something like this which was nothing less than a full-of-fun adventure for her.

"Robindo, aap yeh sab kyun kar rahe ho? Anurag gussa ho rahe hai.", Taani said to Robindo and her voice was only reflecting her concern for Anurag. "Taani, yehi toh Mauli aur mera plan hai. Jaisa chal raha hai, waise chalne do and I'm damn sure ki aaj hi Anu da apne pyaar ka confession karenge. I know my brother very well and just see, 2mins mein agar woh yaha aakar tumhe apne saath naa le gaye toh mera naam bhi Robindo Ganguly nahi.", said Robindo with a confident smile, and the next moment, he twirled her around and pulled her closer.

Unable to tolerate anymore, Anurag stood up and walked towards the dance floor with his eyes still glaring Taani. "Chalo mere saath!", he said to her and holding her wrist as tightly as he can, he almost dragged her outside.

"Phew!", Robindo sighed in relief and came to Mauli. "Chalo mera kaam toh ho gaya.", he said and smiled which soon vanished when Mauli asked him giggling, "Aap apne bhai se itne darr te kyun ho?" "Anurag Ganguly se nahi darunga toh kya padosi se darunga? My god! Mere dada ka gussa bada famous hai Calcutta mein. Aur abhi woh jaise mujhe dekh rahe the, lag raha tha ki abhi mera khoon kardenge.", replied Robindo peculiarly. Mauli finally broke into a loud laugh and Robindo, suddenly frowning, said, "I hope ki Anu da Taani ko jyada taqleef naa de cuz really woh bohot gusse mein lag rahe the." Hearing this, Mauli stopped laughing and got worried.

"Anurag, chodiye mujhe. Dard ho raha hai.", said Taani making a painful facial expression but Anuag, paying no heeds to her, dragged her to his room and locked the door with a loud bang.

As Anurag had never behaved like this before, Taani was surprised. "Anurag, yeh aap kya kar rahe ho? Chodiye mujhe please.", she pleaded him, yet Anurag didn't left his grip on her wrist, instead he tightened it, and pulled her closer to him in such a harsh way that she bumped very hard against his chest. They shared an intense eye-lock.

Anurag slipped his other hand around Taani's waist and pushed her against the wall. "Mujhe taqleef ho rahi hai.", said Taani in a weak voice. Anurag, looking furiously at her, said, "Mujhe bhi dard ho raha tha jab tum kisi aur ke itne kareeb thi." In amazement and surprise, Taani just kept on staring at him. Anurag pinned her hands on the wall and said looking passionately in her eyes, "Chahe mera apne bhai kyun naa ho, tumhe kisi aur ke saath dekhna mujhe bardasht nahi hoga. Chahe main tumhare saath jaisa bhi behave karu, tum sirf meri ho. Jaise tumhe taqleef dene ka haq sirf mujhe hai, tumhe pyaar karne ka haq sirf mujhe hai. Tumhare kareeb aane ki izaazat sirf mujhe hai aur kisi ko nahi."

Tears gushed down from Taani's eyes at a high speed, and this was enough to melt Anurag. Calming himself, he loosened his grip on her wrists and brought his face close to her, closer enough to make her feel his hot breath. Taani heavily breathed due to the effect of his closeness and closed her eyes to control her fastest heartbeats. Anurag, getting the silent approval from Taani, softly touched her cheeks with his lips and kissed her teardrops. Taani felt a strange satisfaction in her heart as she was experiencing the feeling she longed for since god knows how long.

After Anurag pulled himself back to face Taani, he said affectionately, "I love you Taani. It's impossible for me to live a single second without you." As these words collided with Taani's eardrums, she immediately opened her eyes and there they shared a romantic and passionate eye-lock. "Yeh baat sunne ke liye taras gayi thi.", said Taani almost on a verge of crying her heart out. "Tumse dur reheke apne saath tumhe bhi sazaa deta raha. Maaf kardo mujhe.", said Anurag slowly with teary eyes.

Finding no words to express how she was feeling at that moment, Taani decided to stay numb, stand still and feel the nearness and warmth of the man she loved the most in the whole world. Her eyes were conveying all her emotions and Anurag could find only pure love for him in those beautiful eyes. Smilingly gazing her, he caressed her skin possessively yet delicately, and entwining their fingers perfectly, he claimed her lips with his, in a deep romantic kiss, and as Taani was craving to feel this love-filled touch, ever since she began to know the true meaning of love and fall in love with him with all her heart and soul, she responded back with equal love and passion.
