Maan turned around at the voice and wondered how he got trapped here. A bachelor auction was not his cup of tea.
But he was for a noble cause, for the homeless children all around the world seeking for shelter.
Tugging at the collar of his tux,he didnt knew whether to smile or not. Instead he wished all this to get over fast.
The Auctioneer's was increasing the bid like a speeding car ' but all Maan could do was fake a smile. Just wishing things would go as he planned them.
Before he knew he was sold for 24 hours ... 1440 minutes & 86400 seconds after all he was the hunk with oceanic blue eyes, perfect jaws, adorable face. He had a aura around him which made many heads turn in his direction, causing a knee weaking effect for the girls and not to forget for some boys too .
"Congratulations", said the event organizer with a grin. "you were sold for the maximum amount".
Stepping out of the stage, into the crowd of mainly women who looked at him with hungry eyes. Ignoring them, he tried to search for, a petite looking pretty women with a blackberry in one hand and a handbag in the other.
As he approached he saw her busy with a phone call regarding the payment for the of the charity.
He grinned , "I thought you might not have been able to outbid others".
"you wish...i do what i say" said Geet answering with a equal grin.
As always her efficiency and elegance impressed him. When his assistant had retired about a year ago, he had doubted he would find someone as efficient as shilpa.
But despite all this, Geet had proved her capability, keeping his life running smoothly. She not only handled his professional life easily but also his personal life. Though he wasn't much social but that didnt mean he didnt have friends.
What had turned a really cool idea at the time had turned into a nightmare, thought geet. Not knowing how to tell him that she had used her money instead of office money for the bid gave her goosebums, how was she supposed to tell him. But she knew she had only done this for herself.
Ma: how much did you have to pay ?[as the car began to move]

He raise his brow in astonishment, " 10,0000 for 24 hours'not bad".
Ma: "set up the meeting with the lawyers for tom."
Ge: "no" came the instant reply.
Ma: what?
Ge: No, you wont be having a meeting with them. You'll be with me for the next 24 hours as I didn't use company money for the bid. I used my own'.that means you are mine for the next 24 hours.
Ma: [surprised] and why so ?
Ge: Because ummm'' you need a break. You have zero social life. And I would show you the world you need to know.
Ma: nice thought, but for that you don't have to use your money. You could still used the company money.
Ge: no [with a determinant voice]
No arguments only a simple refusal. Knowing her since one whole year, Maan knew that she is stubborn and would never budge from her decision.
Ma: but this is a busy time for me .
Ge: its always busy for you Maan, but you need to get acquaint with the world outside. And moreover, when I'm here then whats the fear.
Being Sunday the next day, she knew Mumbai would be in a party mood. A home for rich and famous.
Next day:
Stopping her car outside Maan's place, Geet came out wearing a elegant as well as a classy dress, which would suite the equation well. But with that came her nervousness, after all how could she tell her boss the real reason why she bid on him.
For Maan, Geet was just a office employ who was good at what she did. But behind that lied geet, who like any other girl dreamt to find her prince charming and have a perfect life.
How was she suppose to tell him, that he had started to haunt her dreams, the girl who always had hundred percent concentration towards her work, now days used to day dream, and smile without no reason.
Knocking on the door she braced herself for all the question she would asked, but to her surprise their stood her boss, The Maan Singh Khuranna looking dashing like always, but today with a hint of amusement and something more which geet couldn't point out.
Wearing denims and a white shirt, with top three buttons open as always made him look younger and handsomer than he already was. His hair as usual.

Seeing geet, drive since an hour with a different flow of emotion every now and then amused him, and made him want to lean closer, and give her a peck'..on her cheeks maybe if not her rosy lips.
Ma:[think] Dude focus, if she gets to know your thought this time she will definitely get back to you.
Feeling the car halt, maan came out of his thoughts, and looked around which shock written all over his face. He never thought she would come up at something like this.
Ma: beach ????
Ge: [just a gave a smile as a silent nod]
Ma: but is this beach so empty [suspicion] don't tell me you [wide eyes]
Ge: [smirk] yes, Mr.Maan...i'll make sure you never forget this day
Ma: but how did u arrange all this, i mean
Ge: thats a secret
After some time:
As the time moved along , Maan found himself more interested in the girl next to her rather than the beautiful view outside.
Soon he realized he knew nothing about her life. Geet found him staring at her from the corner of her eyes.
Ge: what ? [trying hard not to smile]
Ma: you are a surprise
Ge: you mean these arrangement and all
Ma: No, I meant you.
Ge: I'm who I have always been [in a low voice] maybe you never noticed.
Ma: ok, so now that we are here, what so you plan to do with me?
Geet hated that her mind instantly flashed a master bedroom, impressive enough to dazzle a prince.
Ge: [regaining her composure] I plan to show you a good time.
Ma: and what does that involve.
Ge: that involves, sometime here in water, that will make up for the afternoon. Then we will have dinner at an exclusive restaurant followed by dancing at the famous club 'desire'. And then tomorrow''.
Moving closer to her maan, felt her shiver and huskily said,
Ma: what about after dinner and dance ? Where do I spend the night ?
Fortunately, she was saved a huge wave.
Ge: Aren't they just beautiful?
Ma: [leaning closer] IF you don't tell me, you'll have to show me eventually.
Sitting on the beach lounge, maan tried to start a conversation.
Ma: Tell me about you family ?
Ge: not much to say though, I have a elder sister who is married and have a baby girl .
Ma: your parents ?
Ge: they died when I was 15.
Ma: I'm sorry.
Ge: no problems.
Ma: what about your sister ?
Ge: she was in college when they died. She then graduated and got married. She has a baby girl, sonia as you know and the second one on its way.
Ma: how old are you?
Ge: 26
Ma: then why arnt you married ?
Ge: simple because, the one I wanted to marry didn't ask, and the one's I didn't asked !!!
Geet's answer made him think who would have been that foolish enough not to see her love.
They talked for hours about anything and everything when geet glanced at her watch and said.
Ge: Its almost time, we need to go
After changing both settled in the car when Geet's phone rang.
Ge: hello ?
Maan watched as her faced changed the expression from happy to worried. Before today he had never noticed her perfect, flawless creamy skin. Seing her panic almost suddenly
Ma: are you alright ?
Ge: My sister has gone into labour about a month early and I need to reach at her place since the Sonia is alone.
Ma: don't worry lets go to your sisters place, then we'll decide what to do.
Throughout the drive worry didn't leave shilpa as she approaced her sister's place.
On reaching her destination, geet nearly jumped from her car, without caring about the locks and went inside to see her sister and Ria.
Maan entered after her to see geet sitting on the sofa with a child of 4 years on her side.
Ria: Massi, who is he ?
Ge: oops sorry forgot about the introduction
Ge: Maan this is sonia and this is Maan, my b'
Ma: friend, your massi's friend
Ria: you are shoo tall, more than daddy
Not understanding whether this was a complaint or a compliment, Maan kept shut.
Ge: I'll have to stay here for a while, so I wont be able to drive you home, so basically you are off the hook' Would you mind calling a cab.
Ma: you have paid for 24 hours, and till then I am at your disposal, so you are still stuck with me.
Ge: ok , what would you want for dinner
Ma: anything would do
Maan loved kids, and hoped to have his too someday. Soon both Ria and Maan turned out to be friends while shilpa prepared dinner.
After dinner all three settled to watch cartoon movies and in no time was Ria sleep, hugging Maan specially after such a exhausted day.
As geet tried picking her up, she tightened her hols on maan, making him smile.
Tucking her in bed he realized was he missing something in his life. Like a part of him '. A family
After making sure, Ria was comfortable both went downstairs and decided to chat.
Ge: so, you never really talk about your family.
Ma: Because there is nothing o talk about, I was an orphan.
Hearing his confession, made her realize his pain, of having no family at all. She still had her sister but he had no one, no one to call his own. No one to lean upon when he is sad, no one to cry with.
After sometime, the phone rang:
Hearing geet talking on the phone, he too went towards her.
Ge: Anjali is fine, they had a boy who is doing perfectly fine.
Saying all this in one breath, she looked at him and smiled. But her face showed something more than happiness''.a fear of being lonely just like him.
Maan went closer and hugged her'.
Ma: Hey whats wrong ? Arnt you happy
Ge: I'm happy. I love my sister and I was so worried, I couldn't afford to loose her'..she is my only family.
Ma: then ?
Ge: [detangling from the hug] nothing , I just got carried away, I'll just check the Ria.
Before she could move, Maan held her wrist and pulled her forward such that she crashed to his chest.
Ma: you still didn't answer me. Whats ?
Ge: [looking down] Our day. I wanted to go to dinner with you and show you who I really am and not just a office employ.
Ma: what happened to you buying me because I needed a break from work.
Ge: I lied.
Ma: But why didn't you tell me.
Ge: And was I suppose to tell you.
Ge: Its late Maan, we should go to sleep. Come I'll show you your room.
Leading him to a guest room she said:
Ge: if you need anything, do tell me. [With this she turned to go when]
Ma: Geet''
Ge: hmmm
Ma: whatever happened
Ge: Its ok Maan, lets just forget what happened. Its late, good night.
Both lay on their bed, but sleep was miles away, both were in deep thoughts. Geet thought that today she lost her love forever. Why would he love her, her out of all the people.
And Maan was thinking about these new feelings that Geet aroused in his heart.
Ma: Could this be love or its just mere infatuation. And Geet why couldn't I ever see that she loved me.
Both drifted to sleep, thinking about each other and unaware of the happening future awaits them.
