now that every other new channel covering IAC protest stating that Anna's demands are more of a blackmail than protest, what do you guys think? Specially knowing the fact, many participating in the protest dont even know what actually Jan Lok Bill is and how different it is form Govt prototype

some see it as blackmail as the govt is being forced to accept the jan lok pal as it is without any discussion or compromise by the supporters of anna hazare. Some people also that it does not represent all the citizens as some have kept away from it and have some objections eg The Muslim, sikh, and dalit community appear to be maintaining a distance. They have expressed concerns regarding the majority arm twisting the govt to pass policies in favour of the majority. Thats looks a new twist to the movt. The Muslims have objection to the vande mataram and Jai hind slogans by the crowd 😕 the sikhs are probably quiet bcoz of a sikh PM. 😕

Another Dirty Politics:

Muslims should stay away: Bukhari

Syed Ahmed Bukhari, Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, has asked Muslims to stay away from the Anna stir saying his war cry - Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai - are against Islam. "Islam does not condone worship of the nation or land.

It does not even condone worship of the mother... How can Muslims join his stir with a war cry that is against basic tenets of their religion. I have advised them to stay away," Bukhari said.

Vande Mataram
Follow the way of the Sufi Masters and be one with Formless One
Religion if too abstract fails to connect with the common man
Religion if too simple does not interest the intellectuals

i don't think Sikhs are quite or not supporting this movement😆 i myself a sikh and supporting it😃
everyone has their own view for it and they are sticking to that😳

@mona - if i see the current situation then now its a blackmail😆 but do we have any other option?🤔 govt. is asking for 4 months time and if Anna and his team agrees to that do you think after 4 month if govt. will not come up with proper bill then Anna and his team will manage to bring this crowd again??😕 in April govt. promised that they will bring a proper bill but what they come up with was actually not for stopping any corruption.. i don't think with that law and person had dared to complain against anyone problem is now no one wants to trust the govt. hence they are forcing to pass the bill in this session itself (which i don't think will happen😆)

one think on which i don't agree with Anna and his team is that when standing committee is asking them to come and discuss it then they should go and discuss it and should not give any comments for standing committee Anna is on fast but his team can go to standing committee.. pressure is already their on govt. so they can ask for a strong lokpal bill and IF they will ask like only their bill should pass then i don't agree with that.. their are some flaws on Jan lokpal also i feel and that should be corrected like i do feel PM should come on lokpal but his some departments like security should be kept out of this..

plus Anna's team needs to STOP commenting on Standing Committee or one or two politician.. if they are not against govt then they should not do this..

One of the reason I don't support Jan Lokpal Bill is that it is too much inclined towards Direct Democracy and undermines Representative Democracy. While the former might be appealing to a layman, its also the most dangerous form of democracy. If all the power is vested in the hands of people, they will always bully the government and the legislature to work on their terms even if that is against the interest of the nation in long terms. The system of Justice and Constitutional Law shall be completely destroyed and that will do more harm than good.

Secondly the IAC leaders need to distance themselves from the 'Spiritual' gurus and stop rubbing shoulders with the likes of Sadhvi Rithambra and quasi-fascist organizations they are associated with if IAC wishes to maintain the secular and democratic character of this movement in the eyes of the nation.

Lastly, What the fish!! This 'Vande mataram and Jai Hind is un-Islamic' crap is not yet over?? I am sure most secular and liberal Muslims never had and shall never have any objection to singing these songs or 'worshiping' their Motherland. Its the fundamentalist who are the pain in the ass and its due to these few freaks entire Muslim community are frowned at. I was really sad to see Javed Akhtar, who's a self-proclaimed atheist and one of the most secular people I have heard, was being accused of being traitor and was asked to leave India in the Twitter. Though its not really related to the topic, kindly go through this article - https://idrw.org/?p=3596
